Not sure if you will understand my problem but I tried to search it everywhere but was not able to actually find the correct searching criteria so I was not able to fix my problem. My laptop has win 10 and it was always in English. All my windows used to have the menus (file, edit, view...etc.) on the left and the (X) to close the window on the right. for all my windows like control panel and my computer. But now they are reversed (X) on the left and menus are on the right.
When I open a photo directly from the a folder in "Pictures". the left and right direction arrows do not display, so I cannot scroll through the rest of the pictures in the folder.
After upgrade from windows 7 everything works properly. After o while it was not possible to open the START MENY by left click the windows 10 icon in the lower left corner. Right click works ok. What is the reason to that?
I've just noticed a feature which I don't think was present on Windows 7, but is on Windows 10.When a pop-up window is opened by an application the window is not aligned with the top left corner of the screen, it is slightly padded to the right. This seems to affect both pop-ups from browsers and from other applications (i.e Tkinter python frames).
Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I have written a program that interacts with an application that creates these kinds of pop-ups and my program is expecting the windows to be about 7 pixels to the left of where they are appearing.... This can be tested by turning off your ad blocker and going to URL...
This has been going on for months, I've even reinstalled Windows 10 a couple of times, the the issue still persists.
Windows 10 64 bit, Radeon HD 7970 Ghz Ed 6gb x2 [crossfire is usually disabled and makes no difference either way], i7 3770, nothing is overclocked, all power settings are disabled and should never sleep or shut down, I'm using a wired internet connection and all wireless is already disabled, I have a SSD that is set to not power down ever, and all HW monitors [CPUz, Open Hardware Monitor, Sapphire Trixx, HWinfo] show everything is running well within acceptable temps and running smoothly with no spikes or issues.
Windows 10 keeps freezing hard on me, but only if I leave it alone for a few minutes. This happens without fail every time I leave the PC alone for more than 10-15 minutes or so.
It will run fine for days, as long as I'm right in front of it and actively doing something on it, playing a game, watching a video, browsing the internet, whatever. As long as there's some kind of active input, it works fine and doesn't freeze.
I step away for a few minutes, and it freezes hard. No input works, not the mouse, not ctrl-alt-del, nothing. I have to hard reset the stupid thing. I go make something to eat and leave the PC running, take the dog out, or go to the bathroom and I come back to a locked up hard frozen PC every time. It never happens when I'm sitting right in front of it and using it, only when I step away for a few minutes to do something and don't make it back within a few minutes.
I've tried all sorts of fixes. Nothing is overclocked, and my GPU driver has had several new versions while this has been going on. This has been a persistent problem for months and I've spent quite a few hours over that time trying to find a fix. I've seen various threads that refer to this issue, and some of them claim to have fixed it, but none of the solutions work for me. Sometimes it'll get better for a short time, the freezes will be less frequent or take a slightly longer time to hit me, but eventually it just goes right back to this behavior again without fail.
I've adjusted all the power settings several different ways, including setting it so everything never shuts down, made sure the HDD is set to not shut down, clean booted with only the essential bare bones Windows programs running at Startup, checked and rechecked every disk using command prompt commands, run in safe mode, scanned for viruses, malware, and adware repeatedly, disabled the wireless card, unplugged every piece of extra hardware, tried several different keyboards and mice, adjusted the Bios settings in various ways having to do with power and the HDD, uninstalled and reinstalled every driver, rolled them back, used administrator privileges to disable and enable various things, disabled and enabled my AV and firewall, uninstalled my AV, reinstalled it again, adjusted every startup option and tweaked the task manager all sorts of different ways, isolated my PC away from the network and internet, my page file is set up properly for a SSD and I've tweaked it several different ways, nothing works.
It still freezes if I step away from it for more than a few minutes no matter what I do, but only if I step away. I can also prevent it from doing so by playing a video and letting it run while I'm away.
If I pause a game or leave one running while I step away from the PC, it freezes as well. Only video seems to prevent it from crashing like this for some reason, Youtube or a video player running an MP4 or MKV file will keep the PC running if I have something playing and step away, but that's the only reliable way I've found to keep it from locking up.
I shouldn't have to do that though, and I inevitably forget and come back to a frozen PC often losing posts, progress, and it's super annoying. I can't figure out what the hell the issue is despite months of on again off again troubleshooting. Playing with the power settings made it get better briefly, but it never fixed the issue and the PC eventually went right back to behaving the same way regardless of how I set my power settings.
This has been going on for months, so it's not hardware failure. If that had been the issue, whatever it was would have long since died. Everything runs perfectly fine while I'm actively using the PC as well.
Near as I can tell, Windows 10 is ignoring some sort of power setting and trying to go into some sort of sleep mode or something even though I have it set to never do that, and it's causing a hard freeze. That's my best guess here given that it only ever happens when the PC is idle and I'm away from it.
I am currently using an older version of CCC for my GPU, but I am aware of it. I have an Oculus Rift DK2 and the latest drivers do not work with it. They are intentionally rolled back currently and I have already tried the newest drivers. They don't change anything and the PC still freezes if left alone even with the newest Crimson Drivers from AMD.
This is super frustrating and I'm at a bit of a loss here about what to do. Nothing has worked, not even a clean install of Windows 10 with everything wiped from the drive. It persists and refuses to stay running if left idle too long no matter what I do. My PC works, but I can't leave it to download anything over a long period of time or pause a game to go do something.
I use 3 cloud services: OneDrive, Dropbox and MEGA. After installing sync client, Dropbox create a icon on Windows Explorer left panel, just like OneDrive is by default on Windows. But MEGA does NOT do it. How do I create a icon for MEGA on Windows Explorer left panel so I will have easy access to my 3 cloud services? note that I do NOT want to pin a folder on "Quick Access". I want to create a new left panel menu, just like OneDrive and "This PC" and Network appears on Windows Explorer for Windows 10.
After a day using windows 10 I can't click any icons on the system tray and I can't click the windows button. I can click them with the right mouse button. When I left click on them it gives a short loading cursor and after that it doesn't do anything.
When I put cursor over windows button in bottom left hand corner of screen it changes colour but I get no other response. Right click on it works fine?
I have four computers running Win10. On two of them the windows "Start" button on the task bar doesn't work. So I can't get to Settings or Apps. I can right click on the Start button and get the "right-click menu". All of the other task bar buttons work.
What's going on with this? It used to work. For a while it didn't work on my laptop, now that is working but on two other desktop computers it doesn't work. All computers have same Win10 version and latest updates (although hardware differs some between them).
Can I add the "Settings" and "All Apps" shortcut I would normally get left-clicking on the Start button to the Start button's "right-click menu"?
When I open File Explorer there are a number of items listed in the left pane. Is there a way to remove some of them that I do not use like Videos and Music? Also at the bottom, after Network is Homegroup. I do not use Homegroup. Can I delete it from this list? I have other computers that do not list Homegroup so why does this one list it?
I just purchased a Samsung 850 Evo SSD, and after connecting it up, my new SSD as well as my older WD Green HDD are not showing up anywhere in Windows. I can't seem to find them in Device Manager or Disk Management. They both do, however, pop up in the BIOS. The motherboard is an Asrock b85m pro4 if that matters.. I'm not really sure how to troubleshoot this issue. I have an 840 Evo as my boot driving which is starting Windows up just fine.
So this is really hard to explain so maybe my image will clear any confusions. Btw when Im talking about windows Im not talking about the OS Im talking about the applications like Google Chrome window, file explorer window, etc. So my problem is when I move a window from one place to another (like in the image) it only shows the outline. Before it didnt do that. Maybe I touched something and now I dont how to change it.

When I start some programs the program will start up normal, It shows up as running in the task bar I can even alt-tab and see the running program but I cant see the program on my desktop in order to interact with it. I have tried cascading all my windows it still will not show up. Ive tried right clicking the program on the task bar and selecting "move" that does not work. This only started when I installed windows 10. Some of the programs that wont show up are.
ASUS GPU Tweak Netflix Control Panel (occasionally happens but can get it back by restarting computer)
i got my new Benq 2411z and its really nice, configured everything. But my problem is the following:
The monitor does not show the windows startup anymore, so i cannot see windows loading and cant access bios menu at start.
Somehow in device manager there is a non-pnp monitor listed which is listed as standard, if i uninstall or deactivate it, it does not affect my problem and its back after restart.
Furthermore i cant disconnect this non existing monitor via windows control panel.
I need to set the benq monitor (shown as monitor 2) as main monitor in windows 10 settings, but it does not change anything about my problem with the start up.
When i start the computer the displays says: "no device found"
When the computer booted and is finally on desktop it says: "input: dvi" and the desktop shows
Moreover my CCleaner says i have "microsoft basic display driver", but i have got a gtx980..
I have installed all updates on my windows 8.1 but I still don't see the little reserve windows 10 button on the end of my taskbar, how I can get it so I can reserve windows 10...
I'm having trouble with USB devices not showing up in windows explorer. I put in a thumb drive with data on it, but it's not in win explorer. I went to device manager and found the TD under disk drives. Also my external 3T G: disk drive is there. The thing is that my G: drive shows up twice in win explorer, once as a disk drive and the other as an expansion drive. I still can't see the TD. So how can I look at the drive or do anything with it. The light on it is on and the computer see's it, but no way to access it. I have the latest windows updates. I have all usb and hid unchecked for the computer to put them to sleep if not used, but that doesn't work.
re customizing windows desktop themes no options showing
I go to personalization and see the choice of themes but cant see the small pane at the bottom of the screen which gives options for delay between images fit etc etc..
Every time I open the Live Mail, the Logon box comes asking for my password. It does not mark the Remember me and log on automatic. The problem started for about 14 days ago.
I have a Lenovo Thinkcentre preloaded with Windows 10 Pro. Sometimes when I go to File Explorer and click on Network it shows something called "Ralink Linux Client" connected to my home network. When I select its properties the only information I get is it's MAC address. But the funny thing is when I check my router's list of connected devices the Ralink Linux Client doesn't show up on my router's list even though it shows up on Network on my computer. I am using a Buffalo WHR-300HP router. I also have a Thinkpad notebook computer running Windows 7 Pro on my home network and this phantom device never shows up on Network on the Thinkpad. This Ralink Linux Client comes and goes on my Thinkcentre showing up sometimes but not all the time.
I tried researching this on the Web and apparently others have had this problem too both with Windows 7 and Windows 8. But I am reading conflicting information about what might be going on. One forum poster suggested that this means that the router connected to the network is picking up another router within range. Someone else suggested that this is actually something to do with the local router's internal components.
edit - My Thinkcentre is connected to my router via Ethernet. My Thinkpad is connected wirelessly.
