All Word Files Are Read Only
Dec 15, 2015Recently downloaded the recent update and now all my word files are read only, how do I change them all without doing it one at a time.

I've used the DM Log Collector to get the DMP file, but I'd quite like to study it myself, and send relevant parts to Alfa (who make the offending Wi-Fi adaptor with the Atheros chipset).

Oct 11, 2015I recently upgraded to windows ten but ever since I did my computer keeps telling me I do not have the correct permissions to read/write files. I have tried to change the settings to allow the one and only account the permissions. It works temporarily but after a few days it goes back to not allowing me again. I also tried activating the built in administrator account to save files but of course a built in administrator account cannot access the same things as the original account can.

Aug 13, 2015I recently upgraded from windows 8.1 to windows 10. I can no longer print word or excel files since the upgrade yet the printer works fine, other files such as from Acrobat Reader print fine. When I print something flickers on the screen but too fast to read, and the job does not show up in my print q. The troubleshooter shows everything is working fine. I have tried printing new files and old archived files and nothing prints in Excel, yet the program otherwise works fine. What can I try to resolve this?

Sep 30, 2015Since I upgraded to Windows 10; I have noticed that all my older Word documents have been made "Read Only". Despite changing the properties to correct this. Word still loads them as Read Only documents and will not let me make changes. I also noticed; that since the upgrade, despite my account having FULL ADMINISTRATOR rights and permissions, Every action I take to attempt to correct any issues pops up the message that I need administrator rights to complete the action. The problems I experience on my Laptop don't apply to back-ups of the documents on external storage devices. Is there a simple fix for this?

Oct 14, 2015I've recently installed Windows 10 and since today I'm having this issue when I edit an existing Word document and try to save it.
The error:
"Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error.(C:User...Ongoing NotesInfoSoft.docx)"
I've noticed that there is a new user account that I didn't have before, which is an account associated to my Gmail. However, I've checked which account I logged in before opening the Word document, modifying and trying to save it - and it is an account with theoretically full control.how to fix it?
Can Send Epub Files On Bluetooth And Read On Windows Phone
Jun 27, 2015Being more techie, year ago I recommended my bro Lumia 520, over Android, tho it was way behind Android, expecting it to improve over time.
I sent an epub file to my bro's Lumia 520 from my android and lost it. Cant open that file on his Lumia. Cant browse bluetooth folder in Microsoft Files explorer and Aerize File Explorer.
No book reader Sparrow reader, bookvise reader shows up that file in their list.
Whats going on? 2-3 years later, does WP still lacks capability to open up epub file sent over bluetooth?
Gotta try out this precise scenario: "Send epub file from Android to WP and open it in WP" and tell me, I lost 2 hrs today.
If not possible in WP 8.1, hope Windows 10 fixes this, but need confirmation about WP 8.1

Nov 22, 2015I can't open any photo files, it says they have the wrong file name. I had to update windows 10 because word stopped working ( I had already updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8, thinking it can't be worse than Windows 8 - but I was wrong about that.)
Word 13 stopped working a few days ago, and a computer techician tried to identify what was wrong. After checking various things he reinstalled Windows 10. Now I can't open any photo files, it says they have the wrong file name. I could always open the photos before. How can I view and edit my photos as I could before ?
Also is this problem with Word 13 continually jamming and stopping working also due to some windows 10 issue, or is it a virus ?

Aug 10, 2015After updating to Windows 10 I created a homegroup and now everything in documents is stuck in read only. It's the filled in box not the checked box. I manually uncheck the read only and it goes right back to read only. I left home group and tried unsharing folders but no luck. I'm at a loss in what else to try. Also tried rollback and it fails. Tried reset and it fails. Tried image rollback and fails.

Aug 21, 2015 Since I have upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, I noticed that all my folders' attributes are read only . Even if I create new folders, they are read only on creation. When I try to remove the read only attribute in the folder properties, it looks like it's removed, but when I check it again, it shows that it's read only. I tried other methods, like diskpart, and tried to take ownership of the folders
Is there any way to fix this problem? I can create new files and modify existing files in the folders without any problem, but it's really annoying, for example Steam says it can't install games and updates, because the folder what I choose to install games is in read only mode, the only solution is to run it as an administrator. I need to run almost every program as an admin, to make them usable, or they report problems with read only folders. The OS itself is up to date.
