chrome extensions crash and I get the "Aw Snap" every 5 seconds. Firefox crashes, and my steam program works but the store has a error. Every web browser has similar errors. Razer synapse also crashes. But games will still run. I also did a full reinstall of Windows formated and reinstalled everything and still have the same problem. asrock z77 pro4 I5 3570k CPU (corsair h100i liquid cooler) gigabyte gtx 970 PNY XLR8 - DIMM 240-pin 8g memory Main drive Kingston sv300s37a120g ssd Harddrive Toshiba Dt01aca100 Windows 10 I did a memtest no errors. every test i did came upo with no problems but system file checker came up with some errors. I have the log file.
When watching videos or dvd/blurays, the video will freeze but the audio continues. Basically the programs (cyberlink Media suite 10 and Media player classic) crashes, giving errors, but can not see the error box. it is hidden and can not alt-tab to get to it. When running games like Torchlight, Shadow Warrior, and I exit the game (full screen) it goes to a full blank Grey screen (no icons or mouse) and I can't alt-tab, ctrl-alt-delete, or anything. I have to physically shut down my computer and turn it back on. When running the games in windowed screens, the video, on the game freezes, and audio continues.
I have figured out how to run Torchlight in open gl, and it works fine, that way, but am unable to change any settings. My "Driver Fusion 3.1" program freezes, when searching for outdated drivers. I contacted their support, and gave them the logs, for the program, and they can't find the issue, due to the program crashing at different stages in the search (not just on the same driver or spot every time). This problem started when I was still running win 8.1, right before I upgraded to 10, and has persisted through upgrade to 10, and two (fully clean) reinstalls of 10. I uploaded my Msinfo 32 and DxDiag txts.
I have gone through setting the windows update to never install device drivers, Removed all Nvidia device drivers, Used DDU to get all nvidia off my system, and done a full clean reinstall of Nvidia drivers, manually downloaded from Nvidia website (355.82 WHQL). Done this 4 times, last night, 15 times in all.
I'm downloading a file thats about 2g and every 10% or so of progress, I hear my machine's fan start to roar and then my computer freezes and reboots. This happened with both Utorrent and Deluge. Nothing else elicits this reaction. I didn't know Event Viewer was a thing until I started to look this up so I hope these are the relevant dump files.
My computer seems to crash randomly when I have 2 or 3 programs running at once, need instructions to provide necessary information and data to see what may be causing the issue?
I am using a Dell XPS-17 L702X laptop with 8GB of DDR3 RAM and two internal drives, 500GB each. I have 408 GB of free space on the OS drive, which is Drive C. I am running a clean installation of Windows 10 Pro x64. I've been searching for solutions for days and I've already read the posts on this forum that concern my problem. I have yet to find a solution. This problem occurs with my Pale Moon and Edge browsers, which are both up to date, and my research indicates that the Chrome browser also experiences my problem for some users. I use Pale Moon at all times simply because I've found it to be the best browser available. I tried the Edge browser simply to see if the same browser hang problem occurred while using it, and it does.
I didn't have this problem when I did an upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate x64 to Windows 10 Pro x64. My browsers worked perfectly. This problem only occurred after I did a reformat of the Hard Drive and did a clean installation of Windows Pro x64. The browser hangs every minute or less and the hangs several time a minute for about three to five seconds and then everything returns to normal . It freezes occasionally. It crashes but not often. It took me a very long time to compose this post due to all the hangs. Whenever the browsers hang the cooling fan sometimes increases and sometimes it does not. Although I cannot see the words I type while the browser hangs I can continue to type and the words will show once the hanging stops. I don't get black screens and I've never had to reboot. I simply have to wait.
Device Manager shows two display adapters, the top listing being Intel HD Graphics 3000 and the bottom listing shows NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M. Both adapters show that drivers are installed and list the version number. I've tried updating them in Device Manager and both show as having the latest drivers. I installed and ran the Intel Driver Utility and it shows "No Intel drivers discovered" on my system for the Intel adapter. NVIDIA states that my GeForce GT 555M adapter is not supported on Windows 10 and that they have no intention of providing a driver for my adapter for Windows 10. I cannot install an older NVIDIA driver and even if I could I would not be able to run it in compatibility mode as others have tried and it's not possible.
I checked Dell's website for updated display adapter drivers but Dell states that they do not and will not support Windows 10. Don't ask me why because I don't know although it aggravates me immensely. My laptop certainly has the hardware to support Windows 10. I think that's a poor attitude for Dell to have. I currently have three Dell laptops and three Dell desktops. Dell will get no more business from me, although the company could probably care less. The Dell BIOS is version A19, which is the latest version for my laptop.
the Chrome version of flash, virtual memory size, hardware acceleration, third party software, etc, etc, etc. Acronis is not installed because I had problems with every retail version of Acronis I own and therefore refuse to use it again. I am not running a second monitor. I don't use Chrome. My virtual memory has been set to 4000/8000 MB. I have disabled hardware acceleration in Adobe Flash. There is plenty of storage space in Adobe Flash. I have completely uninstalled Adobe Flash with the Flash Uninstall Utility, rebooted and the problem remains without Adobe Flash being installed. After reinstalling Adobe Flash the problem remains. The problem is not associated with my Microsoft mouse or the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. The mouse cursor will move during the times the browser hangs. I am not using any browser extensions. Using Clean Boot to diagnose the problem provided no relief. Doing a "Windows Repair" showed nothing to repair. sfc /scannow shows no problems with the file system. Kaspersky Internet Security is not causing the problem.
Ever since updating to Windows 10 every browser I use crashed. I have been trying Internet Explorer, Edge, and Chrome and have the same issue in all of them. Chrome is a little more stable then the other two. Example when opening up Internet Explorer my homepage is set to MSN and as soon as the content begins to load it stops responding and I must force quit.
This seems to be happening to quite a few people on Windows 10 it seems. It has started happening to me too lately. It happens when, say, I have one tab open to the forums, and I open another to get an image from Bing Images to make a point, or just for fun(those who know me, know what I mean, when I use GIF's), I download the image fine, then either switch tabs back or close the Images tab, then BAM: "IE has stopped working collecting information".
So I looked at the crash logs in Reliability History, and found out that it's iertutil.dll that seems to be the culprit:
Normally that could mean either the .dll is corrupted and needs to be replaced, OR, somehow got moved to the wrong place(accidentally drag & dropped while "surfing" File Explorer, happens to me sometimes), and needs to be moved back.
So I tried going into File Explorer and and searching the Windows folder. After about 8 minutes it was still searching (Hello! I have a Samsung 850 Pro I expect a little more speed !!!) . So I opened up UltraSearch, pasted "iertutil.dll" in and immediately got this:
as you can see, the path(s) are correct, but I see there are a few WinSxS files also. There could be a possible corruption there, is what I'm hoping.
What I'm going to try, is, cleaning out the Side by Side folder so well as I can using Disk Cleanup and the Extreme version of SFC-DISM:
I'm using W10 and have Edge as the default browser (I also use Chrome and Firefox). Some programs are automatically opening in Internet Explorer such as when I open Google+ photos or when software updates and shows what has changed on its website. how to change this so it all opens up in Edge?
I have not been able to get audio out of any programs (vlc, spotify, games etc.) The only program that seems to produce sound is my web browser. Inb4 my sound is not muted.
My computer is AMD Athlon 5350 2.05 GHz Radeon R3, ESC mini-itx motherboard, XFX Radeon R7 250 2GB DDR3, 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 memory ram, power supply 730W, Windows 10 64-bit. I tested it running Dead Island 1080p high at 45 fps. And other runs Fallout 3 set 1080p high at low than 30 fps and GTA 4 1080p high at 20 fps then crash.
This is a machine I built from scratch about six months ago. Upgraded to Windows 10 about two months ago. I keep getting very random crashes, sometimes once a week, some times more. Yesterday it happened twice.
It seems to only happen when the computer is unattended for a while. I'll have it on overnight and in the morning I have a black screen, sometimes with only the mouse cursor present.
As kind of a side issue, when turn it off then reboot, I have to hit F2 to get into the ASUS BIOS. Somehow the BIOS seems to change on it's own and drops the Patriot Blaze SSD from the boot path, so I have to hit F8, highlight Patriot Blaze, then it boots normally. In the past, I thought I fixed this boot issue by flashing the latest BIOS. It worked for a while and boots off the SSD, then after a week or two suddenly the SSD is dropped from the boot path.
There weren't any minidump files, so I am attaching the text of the Windows MEMORY file, which I got using Windows WinDbg (X64).
i just instaled windows 10 and its everything alright exept when i try to open the Settings when barely open it crashes and cant do anything about it. I already tried to restart the pc but it didn't worked.
Win 10, had power cut, will not restore, seem half back to 7, nothing happens on bottom left windows button at all, and no edge browser. Stuck in no mans land.
I have Windows 10 and it unexpectedly crahses without warning, I want to know what the problem is and how to get it fixed?

I recently upgraded from windows 8.1 pro to 10 pro using the media tool. I've run in to some issues here and there, fixed some, but one i cannot figure out involves the system powering on after a crash.
Usually when i am not using my rig i put it in hibernate(which i had to add to the start menu in 10). for the first day or so this was not an issue. however now when i wake it, this is what happens. My mobo splash shows, and the black windows 10 load screen with the windows logo shows up, but before the spinning dots start, the system just powers down. i hit the power button, and it will load properly, though snail slow compared to 8.
Thing is, it always does this on first boot. It doesn't matter if I am waking from hibernate, or sleep, or had actually shut down and am booting cold. but it will always start after that, so far at least.
It also takes quite awhile to boot. with 8 i could wake from hibernate in a matter of seconds, maybe 30 seconds from cold boot. its much slower than that now, often sitting at black screens between the windows load and green load, or the green load and login, or login and desktop. I am uncertain if the slow load is related to the boot crash.
I have a gaming PC that I built about 18 months ago that runs like a tank except for this occasional lockup I get. It locks up entirely and then reboots shortly after. It's only been doing this for the past few weeks and I get no BSOD. Today I checked the event viewer and saw that it saved a memory. dmp file with more info but after trying everything I can not get windb to open the dmp file due to symbol errors. This board has a killer Ethernet adapter with garbage drivers that I think are my issue. The only issues I've had with this system over the past year have all been related to the killer Ethernet drivers. The system hang usually happens when I'm in a download client or leave something downloading for an extended time.
After I upgraded to Win 10 from 7, I started getting this bizarre issue when video files would crash in both VLC and MPC, but not Windows Media Player. The larger the video, the more guaranteed the crash. I've reinstalled MPC, VLC, and Windows 10, but the issue still remains.
I can't open 2 games. Of course i can play just 1, but i need to put one in taskbar (SAMP) and when i want to open other game (it doesn't matter what game [League of Legends or something else]), the second game i open crashes.
My games now crash straight to the desktop now. GTA V, MGS V, Just Cause 3, very strange I don't know if it was a Windows update or something with Nvidia? I rolled back drivers and still the same, it was doing it before this update but out of the blue. It worked fine before, great frame rates.
If I shut down and start up and load Just Cause, it got to the menu, but crashed right after. Once it got a few seconds into the game but was running 10 fps never had that before.
Strangely I can run LEGO Jurassic World and Disney Infinity just fine. What could be wrong? Bad GPU?

I don't have much knowledge about computer at all so I don't know what to do. Ever since I got my PC a year ago it have always been crashing randomly and very constantly with various different error code. (Since I lost the receipt I was unable to return it)
So after I learn about blue screen viewer I was able to get a list of recent crash. which I attach above. I try to google the error code but I dont really understand what I needed to do.
I am running a 15.6" Dell Inspiron Laptop that originally came with Windows 8.1. I upgraded to Windows 10 around the first or second week of August. I had no problems for about 3 or 3 and a half weeks, up until about this past Tuesday (9/8/15). That day, I got the infamous memory management error blue screen, after which it reset and all was well...or so I thought. Within six hours, it randomly shut down and restarted itself while I was working on a paper in Word. Later that same day, it rebooted itself AGAIN!!! While it only did that twice, it continually closed out of apps that I was in the middle of using without giving me the opportunity to save whatever I was doing.
I read a couple of places that said people were able to get rid of all of these problems by simply downgrading back to their previous versions of windows, so I tried to go back to 8.1. I began the process of the downgrade, and left it. When I returned a few minutes later, it was trying to reboot in 8.1, but I instead was getting a blue screen saying that windows had encountered a problem and needed to restart...but when it restarted all i would get is another blue screen telling me to either reset again or select an advanced recovery option.
I restarted Windows 10, and it started installing updates. The computer restarted a couple times saying it was installing updates, and eventually it said that there was a problem installing the updates, and that it was reverting changes. It hung on this is screen for about five minutes, and then (my arm touched the keyboard in this instant, not sure if any buttons were pressed) I got a blue screen, with the error code disappearing too fast for me to read and remember it. Now when my computer attempts to start up, it shows the gigabyte 3d bios splash screen, goes to a black screen with a command prompt-esque cursor blinking, maybe five or so lines from the top. At this point it seems the only input it will accept is ctrl-alt-del, which restarts it and leads to the same outcome.
Whenever I launch a game, started with Dota 2 as the only one, now proceeds with The Division and Subnautica (Those are the games i've tested.) it crashes almost instantly, no error reports, no BSOD, nothing, just a shutdown of the power.
Tried forcing -dx11 on dota, which worked for a while, but then it started again. Now, I've reinstalled windows, clean install, still crashes. Tried new CPU-paste, not a lot of work. Tested heat of my CPU, get´s a bit hot, but shouldn't be enough to turn off.
