View 9 RepliesEvery time I switch on my PC, after about 5 minutes, I get this annoying notification (see picture) from my OS asking me to turn on the security center service; please, note that, on my PC, I am judge, jury and executioner, meaning I decide what stays on and off, at least I've always been so although now, with Windows 10, this has become somehow more difficult. So, yes, I have turned off the security center service because I don't need it and I don't want it! Furthermore.
Now. I've tried disabling every possible notification I could find under the notification menu and the security center one; I've Googled for a solution but I haven't found anything: apparently, everybody loves this service.
While I'm here, is it possible to obtain system privileges in Windows 10? I've tried the old trick with the cmd task but it doesn't work anymore: the cmd windows does open and with "system" as well but it's not interactive apparently.
How turn on? I click in view firewall option and click turn on kaspersky but it isn't work...
View 9 RepliesWe can easily disable Action Center icon in Windows 10 via the following registry key:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsExplorer]"DisableNotificationCenter"=dword:00000001
But that will completely disable Action Center and its button will become gray, not possible to change its state. I don't wanna disable it, just wanna turn it off, like we do manually in: Settings > System > Notifications & Actions > Turn system icons on or off
For this one, I didn't find a registry key, also the following article does not work for Windows 10: System Icons - Enable or Disable - Windows 7 Forums
just turn it off via registry without disabling and locking down the Action Center button.
I am having trouble with Windows Defender and Update. I am getting error 0x800705b4 for Defender and though I've searched online on how to fix the problem none of them seem to work. Also, my computer won't let me access the update & security portion of my settings. When I click on it the window closes immediately.
View 3 RepliesI'm on build 10074 of Windows 10 and cannot find a way to permanently disable Windows Defender. When I go to Control Panel > Windows Defender > Settings, it brings up the new Windows 10 System Settings app which gives an option to turn "Real-time protection" off. However, the description on that states:
Real-tim protection find and stop malware form installing or running on your PC. You can turn it off temporarily, but if it's off for a while, we'll turn it back on automatically.
After about 15 minutes, it turns itself back on. How can I disable this permanently?
In Windows 10 v1511, I noticed that if I disable the real-time protection of Windows Defender, when I reboot the system, this protection comes back on automatically.

View 10 RepliesMy wife and I belong to our local medical centre web site. In IE it keeps asking her not to open it due to having no security certificate. But when I look at it and open it in FF; not a problem.
Is IE being overzealous
My AVG Internet Security and MWB Premium do not inhibit the site at any time.
A while back I accidently kicked out the power cord from my laptop which damaged the power connector. It still worked, it charged just fine, but whenever the connector was plugged in, the "power connector is not plugged in properly" warning kept popping up even though the laptop was charging just fine. The other strange thing is that the warning box would be translucent and flickering and I couldn't close it. I could click on another window to send it to the back but couldn't close the warning box except in Task Manager. It would shortly pop up again anyway.
So I finally got the connector replaced thinking that would solve the problem but it didn't. The warning box constantly and randomly pops up while charging making me think that maybe the motherboard suffered some damage too.
Rather than pay to replace the motherboard, is it possible to simply disable this warning? I really don't need to know if the connector is plugged in properly, it's hard not to plug it in properly and if it's not charging I will find out eventually via low power warnings.
The HP Solutions Center stopped working after Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3132372) was installed Apparently this update controls how flash player is used. HP Solutions Center uses flash player and will not start. I use the HP program frequently to scan documents and photos. Is there a work around for this, or do I have to uninstall this update?

When I start the system and after the desktop appears for a few minutes, I get an indication from the lower right portion of the screen that my anti-virus is off and I need to tap to turn it on.
Is this the normal way Win 10 handles Internet Security programs? I'm using ESET Smart Security 9.
My windows fire wall won't turn on no matter what i do i tried every thing i found on the internet but with no luck at all i went to services and clicked on start but every time i do it i get this error and of course i also tried uninstalling my ESET nod 32 V9 antivirus but it didn't work and i really want this problem fixed mainly cuz it turns out that i can't download or update apps from the store if my firewall is off .
View 3 RepliesPrior to installing my ZoneAlarm, I wanna completely turn off my windows 10 firewall, for some reason, and it must be done only via registry:

How can I do it via registry? I found a snippet but didn't work for my Windows 10, am I somewhere wrong or it should have some changes to work?!
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesSharedAccessParametersFirewallPolicyStandard Profile]
"DisableNotifications"=dword:00000001
"DoNotAllowExceptions"=dword:00000001
"EnableFirewall"=dword:00000000

View 3 RepliesSince today (I have installed Plex Media Server) I got my PC to peek at 100% cpu because of microsoft network realtime inspection service.
In Security Essentials (W7) there was the option in Defender to uncheck "Enable Network Inspection System".
I can not find this option in Win10. The only option I have is to disable the Realtime protection entirely. How to turn off network inspection system....
Uninstalled Office by mistake. I need the files. Tried Sys Restore but error says something like "a file could not be accessed and sys res did not work turn off anti-virus". Tried with anti-virus off (Avast). No go.

View 1 RepliesMy win10 installation got stuck at 91% so I had to restart and disable my antivirus and other services, but when I start MediaCreationToolx64 it starts to download the 3gb again from the beginning. View 1 RepliesI have win 10 pro x64 1511, the problem is that i want to disable defender but in services all the options aren't available like in this image:
I don't know that happen, is like I'm running without admin privilege or something but I'm the only user in my laptop so that can't be possible.
Recent problem(might be after updates 12-24). Cannot access windows update.
View 3 RepliesI was wondering i reinstalled my win 10 PC and didn't want to type password all the time on startup so typed in the run command: netplwiz as stated on some websites, this did the job/worked (no problems straight onto desktop).
Now finished most of the installs of my software but i didn't like the name windows gave my computer (system/about rename pc), so changed it to jasonpc. After this windows needed to reboot computer after changing the name,
Now get login screen (see picture 1) then if i click ok it comes up with (see picture 2 ) IE: has 2 options on bottom left hand corner Jason (jaylad33@hotmail.com - my default and Jason under that, of which i am assuming windows created it with changing name and the most likely cause of which it is stopping it from just going straight to desktop.
It is not a shared computer. In my opinion if this is my personal pc it should have option to disable security on passwords or install of OS or include in update for this option to opt out of any passwords if pc is of personal use.
This is a thing that was also on 8.1 (that I hated a lot) and i couldnt remove. I have 2 accounts on my pc (home and my own account) and everytime i turn the pc on, the last account that was used logs in automatically (mine asks password actually, but the home's one doesn't, so it just logs in).
This is a thing i hate, since makes me waste time login out and login with the account i want to use. Is out there any option for disable that? In 8.1 that wasn't possible.
