So on every boot up i get a anti virus is deactivated which pops up in lower right corner and disappear a split second after.
I got microsoft essential antivirus and malware anti as a secondary scanner, firewall is on..
keeps popping up everytime i boot up. how can i fix it.
View 1 RepliesSo after some recent hardware problems I had to replace my mother board. I bought a different model than the one I had previously. I had previously installed a copy of Windows 7 and had it activated by a man on Craigslist who I assume had a membership or something because the key was legit. I later upgraded to Windows 10.
Now my computer is fixed and Windows 10 is installed but it will not activated because the OS considers this motherboard a "new device."Also, I do NOT have a key for any version of Windows and I would really rather not spend 100 dollars buying another copy.
I installed Windows 10 Pro on an Intel NUC5i3RYH. In the UEFI settings I enabled Secure Boot, enabled UEFI boot and disabled Legacy Boot, yet in Windows 10 System Information it still says Secure Boot State: Off.
Is there something else I need to do to get Secure Boot working?
I updated the TP on my Surface Pro 3 this week - I had the mentioned bugs like mail, people and calendar not installing etc, but something odd happened. Cortana said she's not available in my region.
I am in Australia, but up until then, had no problem using Cortana in the W10 TP, with my region set to US. My region settings haven't changed at all, and I've even tried changing them, and then changing them back.
My motherboard died, and I had to get a new one. I bought the same model. The rest of hardware on my PC remained the same. After that upgrade my Windows 10 isn't activated any more.
I don't have Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 licence, but I am early Windows 10 Insider, and I recieved free Insider builds. They had expiration date, so I had to keep ugrading to new builds, and stay in the Insider program to retain my free "licence". I was doing so, and I provided feedback to Microsoft about every build.
I was hoping that "minor" hardware change wouldn't affect my Windows 10 activation, because all Insiders should have free "licence" that is tied to my Microsoft e-mail account?
Now my Windows 10 Insider 10586 build isn't activated. How can I activate it? Shouldn't all Insider versions be free? Should I sign for Windows Insider program all over again?
I am downloading an ISO File from the official Microsoft Website (Windows 10 Insider Builds). My PC is infected which could result in the ISO File being infected and injected by a infection.. How to scan this ISO File before I install the Build onto my PC. After I do that, I will use a Bootable Anti-Virus, Bootable Anti-Virus to me.

Now I have Windows 10. When I run Scan ticking enable Rescue Scan [Maximum Boost], Windows 10 Hangs up giving following error message:

View 8 RepliesI tried Windows 10, but I would like to stay with Windows 8.1 until some crucial issues have been taken care of.
The issue is that I get a Windows 10 update pop up every time I start my tablet.
I do have automatic Windows update enabled; and would like to keep it on since I do want to receive other windows 8.1 updates.
A long time ago I got a windows key through my workplace which I used on my home computer.. I know it's a valid key as I ran the genuine software test.
I also have Service pack one and it says that I have windows 7 professional -- so I know it's not enterprise.
But still I don't have any update popups.. and when I tried to run the manual installer I just got a "something happened 0x80070002 - 0x20016" and the program shuts down.what's wrong?
When I open an email in Outlook 2010 and click on a browser link I keep getting a popup saying "How do I want to open this?"
I keep ticking the checkbox at the bottom of the popup so that I use Internet Explorer, but the popup appears every time I want to open a link.
How can I get rid of this popup, I have set Internet Explorer as my default browser?
I upgraded from 8.1 to 10. Eudora 7 worked fine in 8. However, the problem I'm having is when I click on a hyperlink within a post, a pop-up window appears telling me, "you'll need a new app to open this program." Opening the link within the popup, takes me to the Store where a message says, "Your search for "about" had no results.
View 9 RepliesI don't even have Chrome installed. as this is a clear sign of an attempt to inject Malware. Even if I had Chrome installed, I'd never consider updating through such popups.
Take this as a warning, following such links will indeed install Mal-ware on your machine.

I had inadvertently had ASK tool bar on the Firefox page - I requested that someone change it to google which happened and now every time I go into firefox a pop up message says: "Firefox homepage notification" Your home page has been changed by another application. 2 options appear. 1. revert to my previous home page 2. View 4 RepliesWindows 10. If I grab a window to move it there is a popup overlay that appears near where I've clicked which seems to intend to make it easy to snap to the sides of the monitor. Usually I don't want to snap a window I'm dragging to one of these areas and usually this popup is where I want to drag the window and is getting in the way and preventing me from positioning windows where I want.
I've attempted to turn off "snap" or "aerosnap" in the System>Multitasking area, however if I turn off snap completely it prevents the shortcut keys (windows/arrow keys) from working correctly which I use a lot. If I disable snap completely it still does not disable this overlay popup as per the image.
When scrolling using the lower arrow in a maximized browser window, occasionally I hit the clock causing the massive pop-up. I can change the clock to the Win32 one and I can find much on disabling the Windows 8 Charms, but nothing on disabling the 'click-to-show' clock pop-up.
I'm happy to retain right/click 'Adjust time/date' function for when I purposely click it.
I suppose I could resize the scrollbar properties to have a bigger button but I think this would throw a lot of websites out of whack and I'm not quite ready to accept it's time for the geriatrics home just yet - I believe my fine motor skills are still just that. Maybe it's lazy pointer control, but the amount of times I hit it is getting frustrating.
Is there any way to create a shortcut for the Date and Time Information window, which pops-up when you click on the date & time on the taskbar?
I had an autokey for this in windows 8.1 but it doesn't work with windows 10....
I have followed the advice a number of times by going to Internet Options> Security tab>scroll down to display mixed content> enable, apply, and reboot.

View 1 RepliesSince I downloaded win 10, every time I click on a link to an internet site, I get a pop-up box asking which app to use to open the link: IE, Edge or another app. There is a box to check "always use" the answer I give, which for me is IE. I am only using the desktop and IE 11 on the desktop. Checking the box to always use IE does nothing. I have a new Dell Inspirion which came loaded with win 8.1
