After updating to Win10 from 8.1 on my Lumia 640 I've noticed that apps now launch or restore slower. For example on 8.1 Skype started in 5-6 seconds. On Win10 it takes about 10 seconds. The same with other applications. The launch/restore time increased by 80%-100%.
View 2 RepliesI am running Windows 10. After having been away for 6 days something strange is happening when I turn my computer on. The "start screen" displays a message saying "Restoring your computer to a previous version of Windows" and I can see that it is working on doing something. I quickly turned it off.
I have updated antivirus/antimalware programs that I run frequently/automatically.
What can be going on, and is there a way to avoid this restoring to start when I turn my computer on?
A month ago i installed a ssd in my pc as a boot drive. So i had an hdd and ssd. Everything was fine untill i needed to reinstall windows again. After the reinstall my pc turning off time became around 5 times longer. The windows shuts down fast ( in 4 seconds or so) but the actual pc stays on for another half a minute ( fans spunning, lights working, power button lit). When i restart windows it works fine (windows turns off, than it starts to boot up again emidietly). I tried updating ssd firmware and i checked if the ssd is in AHCI. Nothing worked. Whats wrong with my pc?
View 1 RepliesI set tried to set up the mail app. I was not suscessful. Would not sync. No mail from Outlook. I read how to delete the mail app and reinstall it from the shop. I ran the program to do that and it work. It removed the Mal and calendar app.
When I tried to go to the shop app, and down load the current mail app, as instructed, the shop will only stay open 3 seconds and then it will close. I rebooted the computer several times, no avail.
My question is how do I restore my computer to just before I removed the mail app.
Earlier one could create a reset/restore point of time, where is this option located in Windows 10?
View 6 RepliesI am attempting to install W10 through USB drive. However as I go through the setup steps, at some point the mouse will start lagging and the setup goes stuck. I don't know if it's a memory problem since I have 3gb of RAM. However if the PC is turned off for a long time the setup tends to continue longer though eventually it goes stuck.
View 3 RepliesI installed windows 10 technical preview yesterday . I found a problem with system restore. It goes through everything normally but after it reboots I get an error. In the details it says:
System restore failed to extract the original copy of the directory from the restore point.

Maybe I have a misunderstanding of how System Restore works. Yesterday I uninstalled a program that I'd like to now get back. The company that made the program no longer offers archive downloads for that program in particular. Today it occurred to me that I could do a System Restore to when the program was still on this laptop & all would be returned as it was.
The first 2 times I tried was a total fail for returning the program but when I went back to a week ago it was there. Something is missing & it errors asking for the old install software that doesn't exist anymore (the program was purchased it 2008).
I have recently had to re-install Windows 10 and had problems before so decided this time to do a clean install and then run the system image backup. This went well but when it came to the testing of the restore a problem arose. I was using the Repair Disc created after the system image backup completed and could not understand the source file indicated was not where I had put the backup.
The restore said the file was on the C: drive which was what I was trying to restore to.
Yesterday I installed Windows 10 Professional on my Acer Aspire V5-573G laptop. I installed the English (US) version even though I live in the Netherlands. When I corrected the time I have set it to the correct timezone (see screenshot) but it has the wrong time connected to it. As seen on the screenshot the time displayed is 21:49 even though when I took it, it was actually 13:49. Off course I could manually change the time, but I was wondering if maybe this is part of some bigger problem and if there is a better way to fix it.

View 5 RepliesInWhen the new Twitter app for Windows 10 was installed several weeks back I installed it on FOUR computers ( I was previously running the old Twitter app). I installed the new update today as well.
It has never worked for me on any of these four computers. The splash screen opens and then the app shuts down. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing works.
This has never happened to me before upgrading to windows 10. 2-3 times a day my internet connection simply turns off for no reason. If I unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back again it works fine like normal again. This seems pretty weird and I don't know why is it happening.
PS: I have a laptop and my internet actually works fine on my brother's windows 7 laptop even when it turns off for me, so it's windows 10 problem.

I upgraded on 7/29 from Windows 8.2 to Windows 10 without any problems. But Settings will not launch. When I left-click the Settings Icon, I get a very brief flash as if something were trying to load, but quickly the monitor screen returns to the desktop and its icons.

View 9 RepliesI use multiple monitors while at work (As I assume most people do now). One quirk I have seen on Windows 8/8.1 and now Windows 10 is how the start menu launches applications. Now that Windows has start menu access on all monitors is there a way to force the apps to launch on the monitor they are being launched from? For example, I use the start menu on Monitor 3 I would expect the app to launch on Monitor 3 not Monitor 1.

I have tried WSRESET, and also "Get-AppxPackage *communi* | Remove-AppXPackage" reboot, and then reinstall Mail and Calendar app.
I'd love to map Windows 10's Task View to one of my mouse's buttons, but SetPoint* (the software for my Logitech mouse) does not support WinKey-based keyboard shortcuts, so mapping WinKey+Tab is impossible.
I was wondering if there is any alternative way to launch Task View, for instance:
a cmd command to launch Task View?an executable for Task View somewhere inside the system32 folder or something, which I can create a manual shortcut tomaybe an alternative keyboard shortcut not involving WinKey?
I use SetPoint 6.32 for compatibility reasons, upgrading SetPoint to a new version (which supports Task View out of the box) is not an option because my mouse stops working properly.
