I have all my media, music and movies sitting on a ReadyNAS 516 and have the shares mapped to Win 10 just fine. I can access all my media from the OS and other applications just fine. The issue is when I add "where to look" from both Groove Music and Movies and TV app, they never pick up my media and add to the available media for playback.

View 3 RepliesWindows 10's Groove Music app ignores every modification I make to albums downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Whether it's song/album titles or cover art, Groove continues to display the music as it was before my changes, while other media players have no problems displaying it with the correct information.
I am not signed into my Microsoft account, and automatic retrieval is disabled. The problem continues to occur even after I've reinstalled the application.
This is not okay at all. How can I make them not mute when I minimize them? Someone asked me to go to Settings>Privacy>BackGround Apps.iHeart radio is set to on and that has no difference. Groove music is not listed.

Spent the best part of a day fixing my PC after a W10 upgrade this morning. All seems to be working well now except that I have an issue with a couple of Metro apps - those named in the title. What happens is that the apps open and then automatically close themselves after about a second. The main Store app opens fine as do all other Metro apps. Its just these two..
View 2 RepliesI have 2 accounts on my machine. On my primary account, the Xbox app would not launch - no error given, just click and nothing happens. So I logged into Windows with my second account and the Xbox app launches with no problem. However, the Groove app won't launch under the second account, whereas it will under my primary account. I have tried the Powershell command to remove and reinstall the app and that has been 100% unsuccessful.
It appears to do nothing more than remove it from the start menu as it still says "installed" if I search for it in the Store. If I reboot, then the Store will allow me to reinstall. The same issue persists in not launching and providing no errors.
I am completely baffled as to why some apps work under one account and not the other - both accounts are admins. Is there something else I can do? I had originally upgraded from Windows 7, but after getting all kinds of BSOD errors, I did a complete wipe and fresh install. I've had these default app not launching errors - or lack of errors as none are shown - since then.
I have seen lots of people saying their Store won't launch or the Start menu doesn't work, but I have had no issues with that...
I went to default apps and chose Windows Media Player as my default for Music, but some playlists still want to open with Groove. Is there a way to disable Groove without it affecting my other apps?

Audacious stupid Groove asks: "My dear please tell me where to search for your lovely music files?", but then turns over and goes to sleep. Very disappointing. I want Windows Media PLayer to be my default app for all of these multimedia files but at least once a day a pop up informs me that there was a problem with one of my default apps and that it has been reset to default.
Is there anyway to disable Windows from taking this action?
On my desktop, when I run a music app in Windows 10, say Plug radio or Tunein, it stops playing music after a second or two of being minimized. If I maximize, it starts playing again. If I change the volume with the keyboard, and the little pop up window with volume, artist, song info, etc. pops up, it starts playing again, but as soon as it fades away, it stops again.
I checked under Task Manager, and the .exe file for the app suspends when you minimize it, and starts running again when you maximize it.
I have a laptop that I also upgraded to Windows 10 from 8.1, and it doesn't do this. I can minimize the same apps and they continue to play. When the desktop was Windows 8.1, I didn't have this problem.
I have a hp 2000 notebook. but when i try to watch movies the picture freeze. If I want to play music it does not want to open....
View 1 RepliesI am unable to purchase any movies,games or apps on the Windows 10 store. When I click buy I enter my password then the screen loads for a few seconds then dims gray. The transaction never gets completed.
This does not happen when the software is free, only paid things.
I just noticed 2 major problems with playing MKV files using the native Movies & TV app in Windows 10 Pro x64 that I'm running.
1. I'm not sure if Windows 10 fully supports MKV files yet but audio from some MKV files couldn't be played with the Movies & TV app. The video plays fine but it's just muted.
2. Enabling subtitles using the built-in feature of the Movies & TV App causes a horrible lag and stutter of the whole MKV video.
I'm running the RTM build on my tablet and the Store and Movies and TV apps crash on launch. I've tried restarts but they're not working.
View 1 RepliesI've been waving the flag for the new ecosystem for quite some time now. This is ridiculous. We're out of beta, you have more than enough to allocate in dev/testing/qa resources, how on earth did this slip through? Is Groove Music muting/pausing/stopping for anyone else when they minimize? I have to leave it open to continue to hear music which isn't the end of the world but this bug really shouldn't have survived beta testing.

View 1 RepliesSince installing Windows 10 I cannot watch movies on Netflix. I can access the Netflix website, however, when I click on the show I was watching I get an error message.
I know it's not the Netflix website because I can watch the movies on my other computer.
When I play movies on my tablet it's all OK. But, when I do the same thing on my lap top I only get sound.
