Is there any way, so that I can stop automatic download of Windows apps from the Store. Since "New apps will save to" button is greyed out and I don't want space to filled with apps or can it be turned to manual check.
i'm having an issue with downloading apps from win 10 store. That is bassicaly what i get every single time. They did provide me with steps to follow, first two didn't find/fix any issues, third one i couldn't execute due to an error which i don't understand and therefore cannot fix on my own.
So today, as it is all over Windowscentral, some of the MS core apps and VLC for Windows 10 got their updates. However, they are stuck at 0% and showing no signs of progress. I've tried cancelling them all, rebooting and download on at a time but it was no use.
Currently attempting to download Windows 10, I do have the 'Get Windows 10' update installed, and I did reserve my copy. That notification has not yet prompted me that 10 is ready to install, so being the impatient person I am, I downloaded the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. From this tool I have both chosen the option to 'Install Windows 10' and 'Create media from this tool' (via USB flash drive that is 16GB and FAT32 formatted). When choosing these options, the tools first step is to download Windows 10. I've not been successful when downloading, it has been stuck at 0% overnight each time I've tried this. Why this can't download?
I originally wanted to completely disable the UAC as the admin permission messages that popped for almost any/everything i wanted to do were very annoying. I dont remember exactly what i did, but it was something in gpedit or something similar to it. After i did that my windows store app stopped working, and appeared as a blank space in my task bar as it was still pinned there. As the store wasnt working, apps related to it like the calculator disappeared from my pc. They dont appear when i search for them, and links to DL ones from the store dont work either.
I tried the guide here Apps - Reinstall and Re-register in Windows 8 and 10 - Windows 10 Forums and did step 2, but that managed to break powershell and make it disappear as well as disabling my task bar and start menu. I cant right click anything in my task bar, and can only use the start menu's right click menu.
A bit of background info: I have installed Windows 10 about 5 times.
The first 4 it would only work until the first reboot because during the setup phase it would automatically install a faulty driver and on the first available restart my Windows would break and I would have to reinstall to get the laptop working again. However all metro apps worked fine before the first reboot.
The 5th time I switched my internet off and window 10 setup finished without internet. That means the faulty driver didn't automatically get installed so I had a chance to switch off the automatic driver installation. However it also meant Windows 10 didn't get activated during the setup phase. I switched internet on, activated Windows 10. Now my computer works fine but all Metro apps are greyed out and not working. For some of them the application crashes and others give me the error "This app can't open". I tried all obvious solutions
sfc /scannow and the DISM commandReinstalling them using: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml"}Reinstalling them using PowershellStarting the Application Identity and App Readiness Services and a couple of other random suggestions I saw online. For me nothing has worked. I tried digging deeper and looking at the event logs the error message when trying to open the store is:
Activation of application Microsoft.Getstarted_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App failed with error:
The application cannot be started. Try reinstalling the application to fix the problem. See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional information.
Looking at the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log:
Activation of the app Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App for the Windows.Launch contract was blocked with error 0x80073CFC because its package is in state: 66.
I recently installed Windows 10 Home using the iso. It was fine but after sometime, the start and metro apps had stopped working. I thought that re-install would do the trick. So I reformatted C: and installed Windows 10 again hoping it wouldn't come again. But now after two weeks... the exact same thing happened. Start, Action Center, Settings, Search... not working. Tried the powershell command, didn't work. Also I cannot create a new user because the settings app crashes... Start wouldn't come up at all. Metro Apps like Calculator, Store and all, they just simply crash after showing the splash screen for a second. I can't do another reformat...
I have recently updated windows 10 and find that some apps have stopped working, for instance Facebook and ITV Player/Hub. I am annoyed with this, especially with Facebook, as I am unable to log in with my original account, as it rejects every password I have tried.
Every time i open my store on Windows 10 i can search for things but once i click on the on the app i want the store page totally goes away. what should i do? i am trying to download a media player on my pc so i can watch movies on it.
System restore fixed my problems, and now I am back to a almost fully functioning O.S,except the windows store is not able to download anything, I will probably not try to fix it on my own, the error code was and is the same(0x80070005)
I think the problem is related to the registry keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftInternet ExplorerMain being locked,I cant use regedit to change permissions(with admin too),regdelnull did not find the key so its not with embedded-null characters.
This key is preventing me from installing Skype and fixing Microsoft office, and some windows updates are failing because of it,saying I have no permissions.Well after lots of permission tikering I have managed to gain ownership of the registry and now office is able to install which means it works, sadly windows store is STILL not working... means that it is something else...
my first two installs failed, and this one was working,I managed to get all of my old personal files and it was fine and dandy, until I noticed that the windows store was not working.I spent 3 hours fixing it and it started opening, great!, but... I noticed it couldn't download anything ,and by trying to spam commands into cmd to fix the store,. I went into safe mode, did a system restore, booted up win 10 - blue-screened. (I have the logs, dmp files). Went into built in troubleshooter and did everything, and then... from the troubleshooter did system restore, from the same point AGAIN!
Now I booted up windows, desktop starts slower and usually requires me to run explorer.exe manually ,I was happy that it had finally seemed ok,until I found out that every single tile app was not working... Only mail, calendar and groove music works...How don't they work?Well the store closes in 1 second, the other apps say they can't open and redirect me to seek info in the store,oh and the tiles are grey.
I have just upgraded to Windows 10, and I was trying to install Netflix and Skype and both of them weren't downloading. Then I clicked on the download icon in the top right and it showed a lot of downloads pending and a few were "Downloading" it said how big the install was and the progress. 0.0MB even after waiting it didn't go up a bit.
The situation:
I have an Ethernet connection directly to my router. I use windows 10 64 Bit version Home. I live in the Netherlands but in order to use Cortana changed Region to United states.
I have tried changing it back to Netherlands seeing if that would change anything but it didn't.
I have left the store running for a few hours now. Still nothing but I did get a message with a few apps "Give us a few minutes"
And when I click see details it shows an error code 0x8024001e
I just upgraded from 8.1, to windows 10 today.Everything seems fine at the moment, except when I open the store, and try to download an app, I go to the page and it gives me this constant 'loading sign'. It doesn't seem to end, and I don't see any option to download my app/game.
I've looked at your forums and instructions on clearing the cache, etc...but still have no luck in downloading applications. They go into a queue and are listed as "starting download" but don't go further. I've rebooted and cleared the cache which will clear the queue but when I try again the same thing happens.
When I plugged my Samsung camera into my PC with W7, it downloaded into a picture folder. Now I've gone to W10, I can't find out how to do this. I can't remember how I did it before as it was a long time ago.
i am using 9926 and internet download manager is not downloading anything. it grabs the links but no process of downloading :/ i allowed from Wİndows Firewall . It doesn't matter the site or the size. That photo is just an example. I don't use vpn or any other connection-wise programs.
So I am in Windows 10 and whenever I try to install .NET Framework 3.5 I get the same error: 0x800736B3 I don't know how to solve it. I've looked in multiple places but couldn't find an answer that solves my situation What I have tried: Going into the control panel->Programs->Turn Windows features on or off, and checking .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)Using an installer from the website
