I'm trying to get a program to autolaunch when I start the computer.
Previously, I used Task Scheduler, but it does not seem to work. I suspect UAC is making this hard for me. I have it set to default.
How can I make a random program run at startup without issues?
Since there is no START folder, how do you set up an exe file to run whenever windows 10 starts?
View 3 RepliesOne of the casualties of my upgrade to Win 10 Home was my iTunes library. Basically, iTunes could no longer find my music, even though it hadn't moved. To cut a long story short, I ended up creating a new library and all was well - or so I thought. Since then, however, every time I boot my PC, iTunes loads at startup, and the curious thing is that there is no reference to the programme in any of the startup folders, nor in Task Managers Start Up list. I also use CCleaner, and that also shows that nothing apple related should be running at startup.
Clearly something is causing iTunes to run? I should add, there are no iPods connected to the PC, and iTunes helper is also disabled via CCleaner.
till yesterday everything was ok but today suddenly when I start windows File explorer open automatically without any command, I did restart system thrice but same was happening.
How do I remove this auto open of file explorer when I start windows.
I need Windows 10 to boot directly to a program. Whatever I try .vbs, .bat or just shortcut in Startup folder, it always starts minimized to task bar. When I click on the task bar it gets blown up full screen.
Once I turn off the Tablet mode it starts good, maximized.
How can I solve this so it boot in Tablet mode AND start the program in proper size?
NOTE: I use touch screen but I dont think it maters.

View 1 RepliesI am experiencing an issue with my computer that has been occurring since I upgraded to Windows 10. At startup, I can launch any program fine. However, after about 30 minutes or so of inactivity (I've never actually timed it), I loose the ability to launch programs. I double click on an application, Chrome, Edge, Steam, File Folders, anything, and it just doesn't seem to register. I can bring up the Start Menu screen, but launching from there as opposed to the task bar or desk top gets me the same result. I get the circle icon for a second as if it is thinking, but it never launches. I cannot even launch Task Manager without hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del and launching it that way. When I do, the programs I attempt to open do not appear in the list. My only recourse is to reboot the computer and then it works fine again.

As of late, I no longer have my email program auto-start at boot-up.
Also I have never been able to solve the problem of no left click function on the Task Bar and no right click function on the Start button.
How do I set Firefox to auto load & run at startup ... when I 1st power on my desktop ?

I want a program to start automatically on windows startup, Nothing needs to be done on the program I just want it to open up, can't see anything on the program's settings suggesting there is a way.
On task manager under the start up tab it says that it is enabled, although I have never seen it active even on the active programs list, I can't disable it either.
The program is Gigabyte OC Guru and I'm running windows 10. It's not urgent, just want it to start so the led on my gpu is the right colour.
My neice had a virus which I successfully cleaned out, but now every time I start up the laptop I get an error message that it couldn't load "C:Usersher nameAppDataLocalCall KitCallKit.dll" and I am having a real trial with attempting t identify what program is calling for the absent .dll file.

This started happening on Friday 7 August 2015 after the first cumulative update. I am on Windows 10 Home 64 bit. I have a Sony Vaio laptop and my installation is an upgrade from Windows 7 Home.
Out of all my apps it's only these 2. I click on the icon and nothing happens. It won't load and then fail, it just doesn't do anything. Another weird behavior I am noticing is that when I right click the icon for Mail or Calendar (it happens on both) the option to "pin to taskbar" has gone. Pin to start is there. This is the only app this happens on.
The other thing which is happening if in the Event Viewer under "Applications and Services Log/Microsoft/Windows/Apps/Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational" where app launching is logged.....instead of it saying:

I have tried WSRESET, and also "Get-AppxPackage *communi* | Remove-AppXPackage" reboot, and then reinstall Mail and Calendar app.
I installed build 10041 on my PC and since then none of the modern applications start up. I click on them, there is a small flicker and thats it. No modern app launches. I cant even launch the insider app
View 4 RepliesI've been reluctant to upgrade to W10 because of fear that things already installed will not work. I took the plunge and upgraded W7-pro on my ACER laptop and my fears are true. No previously installed programs installed in W7 launch when I click the link in the Start Menu, including Office.
Additionally, when I click on links to system items, like services or event viewer or run or anything, I get the following message: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action..."
On the taskbar there's File Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and an email client. None of the links work when I single or double click on them. NOTHING in the start menu --> all Apps work. I click, nothing happens, not even a message. If I double click the executable in File Explorer, the program runs.
I've run SFC, created a new admin user, tried a clean boot, even reinstalled Office as a test, nothing is working, no change to the functionality. According to W10, all updates are installed.
I'm glad I didn't upgrade, or break, my main PCs by installing W10.
So today my computer stopped running the apps in the start menu. I have reset a few times and nothing worked. Are my drivers out of date or is there a new update i need. Also the HP support assist says i have an update to need to install but when i install it nothing happens and goes back to an update that i need to download.

I'm running the RTM build on my tablet and the Store and Movies and TV apps crash on launch. I've tried restarts but they're not working.

Yesterday my Windows Store is working, but can't download or update any apps in Windows Store.
After I turned off the PC for a few of hours then I open up the Windows Store and I get the error..
