Apps :: Auto Route - Registry Settings For This Application Were Not Copied Correctly
Oct 30, 2015
I an trying to run Autoroute on an Asus machine with Win 10 and get a message saying "your registry settings for this application were not copied correctly". This occurs when the program in installed from its original discs or from a new works disc. I think it previously ran OK since upgrading to Win 10 but cannot be 100% certain.
I'm trying to run an application called MySQL Workbench which has been working perfectly fine up until last week which now displays the error message below. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail and talking to the Microsoft support helpline I'm passed from department to department with no resolution.
When i tried to run Origin on Windows 10 an error:The application was unable to start correctly(0xc000007b).I have tried multiple solutions.I have tried un/installing visual c++,direct x and etc..
I just installed Windows 10 on my Asus pc and now the Minecraft launcher won't run, it gives me an error message "Application unable to start correctly (0xc0000018)". I have no clue what went wrong, but it doesn't want to work. I will only take restoring to an earlier date as a last resort.
Ever since installing Windows 10 (clean) I'm facing several network related issues. Before going in depth I'd like to figure out if it's a problem with my PC or if it's a problem with Windows 10 in general.
I'll just stick to one problem for now.I have a Synology NAS and connected a directory there as network drive. I have some programs there that won't work when run from this location.
GameSave Manager/HandBrake Setup/Notepad++ Setup
"The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application."
WinMergeProtable Process shows up in Process Explorer but closes immediately.
Audacity Portable/WinDirStat Portable (and probably more programs using the PortableApps.com Launcher)
"X:ProgramsWinDirStatPortableAppAppInfoLauncherWinDirStat Portable.ini is missing [Launch]:ProgramExecutable - what am I to launch?"
AIDA64 Program works but no icons appear.
There are more but I think those few suffice for now.
All of those programs work fine once I copy them to a local drive and run them from there. Windows 7 ran the very same programs from a network drive without any problems.
I won't even touch the fun stuff like how playing a video from my NAS causes downloads (to the NAS) to stop because of access errors.
A cumulative update came through and didn't install correctly. The Settings app Update history keeps saying it needs a restart to install correctly.
Reinstalled, no change. I uninstalled the update and Windows Update reapplied it successfully. Now the Update history says two entries for the same update, one that it installed successfully and the previous one is still there saying it needs a restart to finish installing.
I'd just upgraded to windows 10 yesterday, and I've been having issues with browsing files. Today, I was trying to change my background from settings, and as soon as the file browser opened up, it closed straight away. Settings also stopped working. It was frozen, and I had to close it using ctrl+alt+delete. Pretty much the same thing happened with 3D builder, however the application crashed after the file browser closed. I've done sfc/scannow and tried restarting windows explorer but nothing has even remotely worked.
When I try to access Settings, I get the following error:
ms-settings:// The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.
I tried the command-line suggested and right after I hit enter, I get a flash of a window popping up on my screen and then it's gone. It's so quick I can't see what it's trying to open.
The settings windows for my ELAN pad is empty. When I change the registry settings then the entrys are visible, but after restarting windows these settings were reset and th window is empty again. What to do, to prevent these changes?
For some time, I have been using OneDrive on my 'phone (successfully, but limited to only a few files and photos).I've now tried to set it up on my Laptop, with a view to linking and uploading all my files - Documents, Pictures etc. However, in the setup 'wizard', I'm not presented with the option of linking any of the Folders on my Laptop - instead, I can only see the 2 existing folders that currently appear in my online OneDrive account (i.e. those which I originally set up from my 'phone).
I have 3 photo edit/print programs on board, all of which worked perfectly under windows 7. However, since upgrading (?) to 10 I now find that none of them work properly, various problems, particularly printed image size. For instance, I wanted to print a 6" x 4" photo at actual size, but could only get it to print to full A4. After much fiddling & cussing I thought I had managed to get it to behave, only to find that it would then only print out at 3" x 2"!!! Is the problem with the software or is it the printer/laptop setup? I use an Epson XP-700 printer.
Bullet Points within Microsoft Office applications are not displaying correctly.
I have tried to restore default fonts settings in "Control PanelAppearance and PersonalisationFontsFont settings" and I have also downloaded all the Windows 10 default fonts, right clicked, install and overwrite all files. Now I seem to have duplicate fonts with _0 and _1 at the end of some of the font names. I've also ran an sfc /scannow command but it didn't find any issue.
Although my printer will print a test page which says that it is working correctly since installing windows 10 I am unable to print anything else because when I try to print the page ie pictures or anything from my computer it is copied to my document only. I have reinstalled the printer and also re installed win 10
I came across a very annoying problem. In the rush of multitasking I copied a folder that was being deleted at the time and pasted it onto my Desktop. Now I have an empty folder icon on my desktop with no name and I can't do anything with it.
None of the options in the context menu work, pressing Delete doesn't work either. When I list contents of my desktop in CMD using DIR command it doesn't display any directories either, as if the folder wasn't there at all.
Lately OneDrive appears as one of the applications installed on my system; and the Windows Exprolorer lists it among the content of the system.
As shown there, it appears to contain a single file (or feature, maybe not a real file) with this name: .849C9593-D756-4E56-8D6E-42412F2A707B. Clicking on this just opens an empty Notebook and nothing else happens.
- How can I get rid of this application, as it seems quite useless, and I'm not aware of having installed it myself?
I cannot delete the file mentionned because a process keeps it open, a pop-up says. I cannot uninstall OneDrive because that option is disabled on the list of applications.
- And what is this OneDrive application anyway? It doesn't seem to be the same thing as OneDrive, the storage space in the cloud, which I use regularly, and performs all right.
I had a virus and was forced to do a system restore to 5/august/2015 and when I tried to open .jpg file and "Invalid value for registry" happened I tried some fixes in PowerShell and Photos app and Store app weren't invisible anymore but had this exclamation mark...
I'm trying to access the settings for Cortana, the program works fine and all but I want to access the settings but once I bring up the options and specifically click settings,Cortana freezes and forces me to have to end the task, and it happens every time. What can I do?
Windows Application not Opening after upgrading to Windows 10. Other Applications work but this Application is no longer working after I made an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I have tried clean Windows 10 install but the problem is still there. VMPP for Maya is the name of the Application. From event viewer, it looks like it is crashing before it even opens.
The error information I see is: Application: VMPPmaya.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. Exception Info: System.InvalidProgramException Stack: at VMPPmaya.App.Main()
This App worked on Windows 7 but NOT on Windows 10.
I was trying to install WMP on my PC; I disovered that it was already installed, even though there was no icon on the desktop, start menu or application bar.
Anyway, I'm now trying to set it as the default application for opening music CDs. The problem is that it is not listed in the default programs, and I cannot seem to get it included on the list. I know how to associate programs with different file types, but that's not really what I want; I'd like WMP to launch automatically when I insert a CD.
One of the most useful feature of the previous Photo viewer ist that it easaly allow to browse all the images in the folder where any image was opened
This feature seems to have diasapear in Windows 10 so on every machine installed with Windows 10 I replace the default application to open image by the old Photo viewer
But I do not really understand why Microsofr is replacing very usefull application by new and removing very useful feature So for now I do not see many improvement for new apps around Windows 10 Paint .NET +Photo Viewer is much better that the new MS Photo Thunderbird is much better that the ridiculous new Microsoft Mail Configuring Chrome is much easier than Edge etc..
I just recently got a Windows 10 PC, and I am having a problem. While general keyboard shortcuts (like Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V) work in all applications, shortcuts specific to an application don't work.
So I'm having some major issues with the Store application at the moment. The issues started appearing day or two before the November update was released, and I couldn't install any application through the Store. (It was returning an error, can't remember which one.)
After I managed to install the November update the issue disappeared until recently when it started happening again. I decided that today I should try a way to fix it. I saw some guides on the internet, by restarting the services, using WSRestart, rebooting and nothing worked. I also came across a few guides that required me to write some code on the Powershell command. Unfortunately one of them did this to the store:
The error I was getting on the Store while installing was 0x80240438..So after a quick system restore to the previous day, the Store is back as it was. But I still can't download applications, anything at all. It says "Starting download" for a second and then switches to "Give us a few minutes". After clicking 'See details' this appears. As I said I did have this error before, briefly, but it got fixed after applying the November update. Now its back again and it is very annoying.
Apparently it is my turn: Photos app no longer launches (clicking on the icon does nothing; no error report in Event Log). Trying to double-click image files associated with Photos results in "Invalid Value for Registry" message box. No explanation as to for what value is "invalid" and why it is "invalid".
It appears that the damage is user-account-specific, meaning that Photos typically continue to work fine under different (undamaged) user accounts. So, the only known solution appears to be to create a new user account and set it up from scratch.
Considering that setting up a new account requires quite an effort, this is not a real solution but more of a last resort "loser's way out" kind of measure. Hence the question: any additional information/research about this error? What specific "registry value" is responsible for this problem? I see quite a few reports about this error on the Net, but most of them seem to settle with creating a new account.
