Oct 25, 2015My CCleaner Pro keeps crashing in Windows 10 and leaving a critical event in the Reliability History.I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it but the same thing happens.

Jan 15, 2016I want to always Permanently Delete (Shred) files and folders on my PC so that no one can recover those data. Now I heard for a program called Eraser which allows us to shred files/folders by clicking right click of mouse on the files/folders and then choosing Shredding (Permanently Delete).
So my question is: can I normally delete all files/folders which means that those files/folders are now in Recycle Bin. And then I just open Ccleaner and I set Secure Deletion to Very Complex Overwrite (35 passes) and I also check 3 boxes there (Wipe Alternate Data Streams, Wipe Cluster Tips and Wipe MFT Free Space) and I also check Local Disc (C) and Local Disk (D) boxes and then I just click Run Cleaner and now all the files from Recycle Bin will be Permanently Deleted (Shredded) and no one will be able to recover those files? If this is true, then I don't need Eraser to permanently delete (shred) files/folders.

Mar 5, 2016I have a new HP Pavillion desktop PC. I downloaded Ccleaner today and while tinkering, I "Fixed" a few registry problems . It is unable to access the registry to restore using the Merge option in the context menu. I tried typing in the whole path to the file at the CMD prompt with the same results.

Aug 13, 2015Various applications are crashing at seemingly random times. The most common culprits are video games (in my case, GTAV and JustCause2), but various windows executables also crash.
The most common exception code which caused the crash is 0xc0000005. Other codes pop up from time to time as well, such as 0xc000000d, 0xc0000409, 0xc0000374, or 0x80000003.
The time between crashes varies wildly. Sometimes a game will crash 3 times on start up. Other times it will work for 4 hours straight. Sometimes the computer is working solidly, other times critical applications hang, forcing a restart with no log of the event. Some games never experience a crash, while others love to do so. For example, XCOM hasn't crashed once in the 30 hours I've played it, while JustCause2 crashed about ~10 times in 5 hours of gameplay.
I've attached all the application error events that have occurred since I switched over to Windows 10. (I switched over on Aug 9 in an unsuccessful attempt to fix this issue, so all the logs before then are currently hidden away in a backup. But don't worry, all the logs before then are more of the same.)
All MS Apps Are Crashing When Try To Open
Mar 31, 2016I'm using windows 10 on my surface 3, Today I realised that almost all MS app like store, groove music, calculator are crashing when I try to open them. I have restarted, checked for updates but none of the apps open. They crash in less than a second.
The only changes I did today was to install Kaspersky Internet Security and now I've removed it but nothing has changed.
OS is 10586.164

Aug 10, 2015My dad upgraded to Windows 10 a few days ago, however, now VLC and PowerDVD crash for some reason... they were working perfectly fine before the upgrade.
For VLC, the video will freeze, but the audio will keep playing, but when you move the cursor to a point in the program, it just closes and crashes. However, there is no error report in the Event viewer.
Likewise, using PowerDVD 15 to play the same video, will completely freeze, both video and audio will freeze. He hasn't tried playing an actual DVD/BD yet.
He plays the video in the "Movies & TV" app and it plays fine.
I'm at a loss for a solution, I've uninstalled VLC and reinstalled it. I use the same two programs and have had no issue.

Sep 13, 2015Since I upgraded to windows 10 my OneDrive account has not been syncing properly and regularly comes up with errors when I start up before abruptly crashing. A lot of the advice I have found online recommends e.g. right clicking on the OneDrive app in the bottom right however the OneDrive app does not actually appear for me (I have selected OneDrive to always show in the notification area in the settings but this does not work).
How I can fix/reset OneDrive so that it actually works properly on windows 10?
Also, I understand microsoft have removed the feature to allow you to access OneDrive online only files direct from explorer instead forcing you to download everything you need to access locally onto the computer. As this was quite literally the only feature that put OneDrive ahead of e.g. Dropbox/Google Drive.
Apps :: Adobe Acrobat DC Keeps Crashing
Dec 23, 2015I have a user that is testing out windows 10 and Acrobat DC keeps crashing when saving a.pdf. Tried different .pdf's same result. I have UN-installed dc and re-installed it and still same problem. I don't think this is a problem with Windows 10 as I have had this issue before in windows 7 as well. The only resolution so far is to put Acrobat 11 pro back on. Unfortunately our Manager want us to move toward DC.

Oct 1, 2015Right after I upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 10, I downloaded the new version of Ccleaner. I noticed that the following entry kept showing up in the registry cleaner:
"ActiveX/COM Issue InProcServer32C:Program Files (x86)HPCommonAclmControlProxy.dll HKCRCLSID{047466F1-82AE-455A-AFC4-D3AC463FBF6B}".
Under Windows 7 I never saw that entry pop up in the Ccleaner registry cleaner. I got sick of seeing it so I saved a copy and deleted the entry. However, it came right back again. Every time I deleted the entry, it came back.
My computer is running fine and this entry does not show up as malware in MBAM, MBAE or Windows Defender. However, I am concerned as to why it keeps showing up in the Ccleaner registry cleaner. Emsisoft lists the file as being safe and a legit Hewlet Packard file and I do have an HP printer.
Is this behavior due to the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10?

Feb 23, 2016I got a new laptop in December 2015 that came with Windows 10. It is currently running version 1511 10586.104. I have updated the BIOS and graphics driver, all are current from the mfg. I have had an ongoing problem with applications crashing when they access the file system. When uploading images to my website using Chrome, when uploading images to Facebook, when importing or opening files in CorelPhotoPaint x7. The problem does not happen every time. I can upload 10 or more images before it happens. When it does, the application crashes when I click to select the file to open.

Nov 27, 2015After upgrading to the latest build my facebook app in windows 10 keeps crashing roughly 5 seconds after starting it.
I dont mind this particular problem but it is iritating...
Sfc shows no integrity violations. What could this be? corrupt win user profile?

Music And Video Apps Crashing - Unable To Get These Working
Jun 13, 2015I've tried everything at this point that I can think of but I can't seem to get these two apps to work anymore. I can use the preview apps no problem.
I've tried using the Powershell command to basically refresh the apps installed on the machine and it fixed my Mail/Calendar apps that were also having this issue but no luck on my Media apps.
I've tried manually uninstalling them and redownloading them from the store with no luck either. I'm not sure what has happened and would like to know if at all possible, how I may be able to get these working again.
Crashing / Disappearing Start Screen / Menu - Unable To Access All Apps Or Customize Tiles
Jul 10, 2015Where your start screen/menu just crashes or vanishes after a second or two. This only started happening for me now in build 10166, and the menu was behaving beautifully in the earlier build (10162). I am unable to access all apps or customize my tiles. Most of the time it makes is very difficult to actually clck or tap on any of the tiles either to run something.
I've tried to change the configuration between "menu" and "screen" to see if its restricted to one of them, but both of them vanish after a few seconds.
Apps :: Save / Save As / Open Dialog Crashing?
May 16, 2015I tried to do a search but it didn't come up with much. where the Save/SaveAs/Open dialogs don't open and instead the app crashes? I've seen it in Notepad, Paint and Word. If I kill all explorer.exe processes, and then launch for example Notepad from Task Manager, the issue goes away, but as soon as I reboot, it returns.
