Mar 5, 2016Currently I cannot change the destination of new apps that I download on to my computer. The box that says "New apps will save to" is greyed out. This is a brand new computer.

Aug 19, 2015I just found the game recorder built in to Windows 10 and was trying to use it but am having trouble changing where the games are saved. When I go to the folder I want the recordings saved in there is no OK button or any way to say this is where I want them saved. If I exit out on the folder it just goes back to the original destination.

Dec 13, 2015I have had Windows 10 installed for about 4 months now and things have been going decent. A couple of days ago my system received a Windows 10 update that took about 2 hours and looked like it was installing Windows all over again (but it wasn't) and once this happened I couldn't find the Microsoft Edge application and the start button would not work at all. After doing a system restore to a date prior to the update things are back to "normal" except for this one problem.Currently my start menu does not show any Recently Used or Favorite Apps in it as shown below.If I select the All apps button it also shows nothing:
I made sure that all of the settings in order to see recently used apps and all my apps are correct as below are my settings:I have tried a couple of solutions that handled Cortana not searching for programs or "some" apps were missing from all apps but I have yet to find a solution to when absolutely no apps are showing in the start menu. I know the applications still exist on my machine as I use Firefox and Microsoft Word and Outlook plus many more apps but they aren't showing up at all. I am also under a local account instead of my Microsoft account and both have this problem.

Dec 2, 2015I've searched the Win10 forum, but haven't found whether it is possible to change the amount of apps that appear in the MOST USED apps in Start.
For instance, currently, my MOST USED apps show 6 apps. I would like to change it to 10.
I have the RECENTLY ADDED apps option turned off, so there should be plenty of room to show 10 MOST USED apps.
I believe previous versions of Windows allowed this choice.
Apps :: Able To Change File Open With?
Mar 5, 2016I have windows 10 and somehow mobi files are opening with notepad. Of course they do not read in there but I have a free ebook site in which I want to know if they too have to open with notepad. I managed to repair the extension but not the icon. Can that be done? Also it really annoys me that it appears on the default menu and matched up to notepad there and that also cannot be changed . Is there a registry tweak I can apply to get it back to the way it was?

Aug 31, 2015I just finished a fresh install after going through several BSOD (which have now been corrected). I'm trying to change the settings and I can't changed date/time nor can I access the settings( Start>Settings). When I try and change the settings or date/time I get "This app can't open. Your trial period for this app has expired. Visit the Windows Store. Visit the Windows Store to purchase the full app." When I try to open Windows Store, same thing happens. Date/time is now an app?

Oct 27, 2015I noticed since going to 10 that clicking on magnet links does not open bittorrent. I have rerun windows and still the same problem. in cyberfox i fixed it easily enough, but for chrome and torch no love. I found a couple of things about registry entries but they did not work. I try to assign bittorrent to magnet links in windows but i cannot choose a default app from the system, I only get what you see below which is to "look for an app in the store". there must be a way to fix this so i can pick an app already on my system.

Apps :: Change Default Photo Import Program
Feb 23, 2016Whenever I plug a photo card in to my PC, the new Photo Viewer program is launched (which doesn't find the card but that doesn't matter as I don't want to use that program anyway). How can I change the default import program to one of my choice (Lightroom).
I can of course shut it down, load Lightroom and then select the card but I always have to go through the process of first shutting down the program that loads automatically. If anything is going to load automatically I would rather pick my own!
Apps :: Cannot Change MSCONFIG From Selective To Normal Start Up
Aug 30, 2015I have noticed in my fresh clean install of Windows 10 Pro, when running MSCONFIG that my system is set to Selective startup. If I select Normal startup and click Apply, it immediately defaults back to Selective startup again.
I also notice that one service under the Services tab is not selected - Geolocation Service. Here too, when I select it and click Apply, the check box is cleared again.
I have not disabled any start up programs. Only thing I did was uninstall MS Apps Get Office and Get Skype.

I would like to change that location which I did drag and drop it into my document folder but the file is still located in the One Drive folder and new recordings do not get stored into my recording folder in documents. First time around, i uninstalled all of it using power shell but i ended up needing the store and one other app but W10 went retarded and didn't allow me to reinstall the packages, so this time around. I just want to organize them into a folder that i will never touch .
i don't feel like downgrading back to 8.1 which as it stands right now was better for me when using Start8.
