Sep 12, 2015So one time I decided to use windows 10 manager mail and people backup tool and then when mail app started to act unresponsive I imported them back and since then I can't remove add/delete any old email accounts.. Where is this thing stored or how can I remove them?
Remove an account - Cannot add any accounts to Mail, Calendar or People apps doesn't work since I cant access the accounts inside the app.. All I see is this e.g. People app..By mail app just this error if i try to add any account as seen on the right picture. Its like they're burred deep inside the system and I just can't get rid of them to add them new again. I reinstalled both apps and its still showing this list.. How can I remove these accounts?

Aug 19, 2015When I try to add an account to the Mail, Calendar or People apps I get a "Something went wrong" error, code 0x80070422.
I have run sfc /scannow, DISM /cleanup-image etc, tried stopping and starting the credential manager and setting it to start automatically, but no luck.
I came across a fix for the TP that involved using powershell to remove the package and then reinstall it from the store, but when I run this it appears to complete correctly but the apps remain installed. I also tried removing them as per this and then reinstalling them, but the problem remains.

However, it does not remove some apps and I have to remove them manually using:

So, is there a single command to remove all metro apps at once?

Feb 25, 2016I still have Facebook contact information within my Windows 10 People but I'm not being allowed to delete them. I get told that I have to remove them from Facebook first but since we can no longer connect and sync contacts with Facebook, I can't do that either. I'm setting up a new desktop PC and I really want all of that irrelevant contact information to be gone.

Dec 19, 2015As others have noted, the bundled Microsoft People app tried to update this morning, but mine failed (as per reliability history). After that, clicking on the People app icon failed to launch the app.
So I decided to try and uninstall the app in order to reinstall it from the windows app store. Using powershell in admin mode, I think I managed to uninstall it, but perhaps not completely. Now the app icon has gone from All Apps, but searching for people finds something called @ {Microsoft.people_10.0.3450 ... etc.
Also, finding the People app in the Store says that it's already installed.
How to I properly clear it off my system and reinstall it properly? I know it might not be the best contacts app out there, but it's OK and right now it's a mess that I want to try to sort out...
Apps :: How To Unlink Outlook Account In People App
Aug 10, 2015I upgraded my wife's Surface 3 to W10 on Friday and the good thing is that now I can add her iCloud account to the People App.
I logged into her Outlook.com account on the web and deleted all of her contacts to avoid duplicates, but all contacts in the W10 People App still show as having a "linked" Outlook entry.
Although I can manually go into each one and unlink the accounts, then delete the Outlook.com entry, how can get it to do a re-scan so it knows they have been deleted?
I can't remove the Outlook account from the People App as that's the one she signs in with and there is now option to delete it anyway.

May 25, 2015I'm on the build 10122 insider preview of windows 10. My outlook is not syncing to the mail and people apps. When I press refresh they keep refreshing for sometime and then just return nothing. My google account had no issues syncing to the same app. The outlook account says there is some error with the account and asks if I want to fix it, and when I press fix button, it just does nothing. I cant get to delete the account so I can reenter my credentials, how to delete account or changing credentials? The account opens fine on the web.

It does not save. Instead, it opens my list of contacts and asks me to "Choose a contact". I have to be able to save new contacts from my emails I receive.

Oct 24, 2015I'm giving this computer to a friend and I want it to be a blank slate. How do I disconnect all this microsoft account crap from my computer? The MS website gives instructions but there is no prompt to do so when I try. How do I disable the opening password when booting up the computer? I tried the netplwiz command and unchecked the box but all it did was make another user with the same name. Or is there a way I can make a new admin account for him somehow and delete all the other ones from that one?

Feb 10, 2016Tried searching, tried a few things and still nothing.
My computer used to just turn on and go to the desktop.
Then, after an update it went to a log in screen at startup but pressing enter made it work - ie no password.
Now, after another update I now have a login that is linked to my hotmail account and I don't want it.
I don't want user profiles, I don't want accounts, I don't want a login.
I want to boot my computer and for it to go to the desktop. Simple.
How do I remove / disable all this rubbish?

Feb 10, 2016I signed in with a microsoft account in windows 10 because I wanted to try minecraft windows 10 edition. Now I want to remove it but I am unable to. To remove the account I go click the start menu, click my name, click change account settings, scroll down to accounts used by other apps, click my email, click remove, but nothing happens. I did switch to a local account. When I click remove, the settings window just disappears without anything happening. I also ran the SFC Command but it found nothing. Edit: I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10

Feb 23, 2016Basically, when I setup my system I run my primary user as an admin to install and set everything the way I like it. After a week or so I remove my primary user from the Administrators group. I then use the default Admin account (usually Administrator) to do any other major changes or installs.
I understand that he default administrator account is disabled by Windows and needs to be enabled, but my gripe is that windows has allowed my only active user, which happen to be in the local admin group, to remove it's own Administrative privilege.
Now I have a PC with one standard user and no way to enable my admin, or otherwise do any administrative actions.
HOW CAN I ENABLE ADMIN WHEN MY ONLY USER ISN'T AN ADMIN?
WHY WOULD WINDOWS ALLOW THIS TO OCCUR?
I've attached a couple screen shots showing my list of users, which will show the only active user and the other 3 disabled (icon shows down arrow); as well as my Administrator group showing the disabled Administrator user...which is disabled.
And I know I *should* have enabled the Administrator account BEFORE I removed my own admin...but I'm here now and need a fix.

I have uninstalled Screenshot Captor, I have run CCleaner over the Registry, I removed all traces of Screenshot Captor from the registry and I've rebooted - yet the Notification list still has those nine entries in for Screenshot Captor How can I get rid if them ?
I no longer need Screenshot Captor because Win 10's built facilities are adequate, for me at least.

I followed a tutorial on how to remove the 'app tiles from the start menu.....(right click -> unpin) but the apps don't remove. I found that I can add here X:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStart Menu things to autostart, but thats mostly it.
As example, i wish to remove "Steam" folder and Link in the "All Apps" .... but I cannot find anything how to do, besides of a uninstall
Same goes for lots of other stuff I get from Windows as default added... Cortana, Groove-Music, Mail, Contacts, Xbox and what not. I am simply not using all that stuff and it just bothers me that i have to scroll everytime so long to get where i want.
Is there a way, an Program or something that I can hide/remove here all unwanted Links to stuff I do not use at all?
In Win7 I had such a neat and completely clean Startmenu. This Tiles are nice, but I want to have everything clean and the way I want it, and not how the OS is forcing me to have. Like Accesoire... that Point in Win7 really came down to the Stuff i am SOMETIMES using, everything else was removed. IF i need something, i can check where to find that Application via Explorer.... and well, that never happened till now

Mar 5, 2016I've been using Windows 10 for weeks. Until today, it started up just fine by displaying my name and no email address. This is exactly how I want it to be.
Today when Win 10 would not recognize a printer, in order to download an "app" to work with this, I was required to provide a Microsoft email account, which I did (an old Hotmail account I rarely use). Now when I restart or wake up the computer, that old Hotmail account appears as "Administrator". However, I do NOT want that old Hotmail email address associated with this computer.
How can I remove it and get back to logging in with NO associated email address?
NOTE: I do not want to delete the old Hotmail account; just want to remove it from my Windows 10 "Account" menu (My name + Hotmail address + "Administrator").
In case it's required to associate Win 10 with an email address, I use Windows Live Essentials with a company email address. I tried adding it via the "Other Account" option, but Win 10 said it did not recognize the email address I entered, sigh.

I'm working through some issues but the one that is really annoying me is the inability to add any accounts to the Mail and Calendar apps. I have tried adding my Microsoft account as well as Exchange and other types of accounts. No matter what I do, I get the "Something went wrong" error message.
