View 5 RepliesMy CCleaner Pro keeps crashing in Windows 10 and leaving a critical event in the Reliability History.I uninstalled it, then reinstalled it but the same thing happens.
View 9 RepliesI want to always Permanently Delete (Shred) files and folders on my PC so that no one can recover those data. Now I heard for a program called Eraser which allows us to shred files/folders by clicking right click of mouse on the files/folders and then choosing Shredding (Permanently Delete).
So my question is: can I normally delete all files/folders which means that those files/folders are now in Recycle Bin. And then I just open Ccleaner and I set Secure Deletion to Very Complex Overwrite (35 passes) and I also check 3 boxes there (Wipe Alternate Data Streams, Wipe Cluster Tips and Wipe MFT Free Space) and I also check Local Disc (C) and Local Disk (D) boxes and then I just click Run Cleaner and now all the files from Recycle Bin will be Permanently Deleted (Shredded) and no one will be able to recover those files? If this is true, then I don't need Eraser to permanently delete (shred) files/folders.
I have a new HP Pavillion desktop PC. I downloaded Ccleaner today and while tinkering, I "Fixed" a few registry problems . It is unable to access the registry to restore using the Merge option in the context menu. I tried typing in the whole path to the file at the CMD prompt with the same results.
View 4 RepliesI ran CCleaner today (Great program by the way!), like I do every couple weeks, and it said that edge and internet explorer needed to close to finish. Thing is, I use neither. So Do they auto run in the background? How can I keep them from starting?
View 9 RepliesHow can I stop CCleaner from skipping cleaning files in Edge? Is there a setting in Edge that's stopping CCleaner from cleaning the files?
View 7 RepliesThere are a few apps that keep installing themselves even after I removed them. 3D builder, Get Office, etc. Is there a way, or a couple ways to get them to NOT install once I remove them? Or to at the very least block them from functioning (example, the Get Office app notifies me about getting office all the time).
View 8 RepliesStill getting used to the changes from Windows 7.
Why has Paint been removed from my apps list? I have it on my computer but the only way to find it is to search for it.
I simply want it either in my Apps or on my desktop.
I was having some problems with Windows Store
First of all
I got error 0x800072efe
Looked all over the Internet. Finally fixed it.
Then started getting error 0x80070005. And no matter what it couldn't be fixed. So I decided to uninstall Store using 10AppsManager and I also deleted all Microsoft.WindowsStore packagefamily folders.
I tried every solution available on Internet but none worked. This was one of them Restore and reinstall Windows Store in Windows 10 after removing with PowerShell.
I don't want to do a system rest as it'll result in losing all my programs I had installed since Windows 8. Never did a reset.
Every iteration of Windows 10, I'm hoping that this issue gets resolved, but these (in the pic) apps are constantly around, do not function, and can't be removed. What exactly is going on? Why are they still there? Is there a fix?
View 5 RepliesRecently I have removed all metro or preinstalled applications on windows 10 with a powershell command. It removed all the extra software I needed but, I realized windows store and calculator are missing. I've search up many solutions on the web but, none have workped. Now, i want to know how I can get them back.
View 1 RepliesI went to run CCleaner after the last update, and it had disappeared. I paid for that! I'm more than angry. Windows 10 has been a pain since I got it.
View 5 RepliesRight after I upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 10, I downloaded the new version of Ccleaner. I noticed that the following entry kept showing up in the registry cleaner:
"ActiveX/COM Issue InProcServer32C:Program Files (x86)HPCommonAclmControlProxy.dll HKCRCLSID{047466F1-82AE-455A-AFC4-D3AC463FBF6B}".
Under Windows 7 I never saw that entry pop up in the Ccleaner registry cleaner. I got sick of seeing it so I saved a copy and deleted the entry. However, it came right back again. Every time I deleted the entry, it came back.
My computer is running fine and this entry does not show up as malware in MBAM, MBAE or Windows Defender. However, I am concerned as to why it keeps showing up in the Ccleaner registry cleaner. Emsisoft lists the file as being safe and a legit Hewlet Packard file and I do have an HP printer.
Is this behavior due to the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10?
Whenever I run Ccleaner on my Win 10 PC, I lose my newsfeed from the Edge Browser, Why? It also does the same thing if I run Wise care 365
View 2 RepliesI have removed all my accounts using "netplwiz" option. Now my user name stayes on when I turn on my computer but no password is correct. I can't log in on my computer. I changed my password on live.com but eaven that doesn't work.
View 1 RepliesThe brightness in my pc cannot be changed so i searched the internet until i found a solution and when i did the instructions i found out that Sleep mode has been removed from my PC.
View 1 RepliesWindows 10 notification indicted that CPU ID and CPU Z were removed during the upgrade. However when I click on their short cut icons on my desktop , both of the programs seem to work . I can't find the programs in Windows explorer . They are also not listed in any of the uninstallers. So I am puzzled whether the programs are actually still in the system and working . I have not looked into the registry yet. Are these programs supported by windows 10 ?
View 9 RepliesI find that the oldest restore points regularly disappear even though I have system recovery on and more than adequate disc space allocated.
View 9 RepliesHow do I remove this troublesome Phone Icon from This PC folder.
View 6 RepliesDownloaded Windows 10. I cant find any of my old files? The update appears to have removed all my files!
View 1 RepliesI upgraded to Windows and to my horror after it was Downloaded all my data disappear. Been working on a family book all previous version that I referred to gone. All my photos gone.
My only consolation I had backed up a version of my book on a sub key. Photos though gone. People do not upgrade. How could they play with people like that.
Are these built in to Windows 10? Can they be removed and/or disabled? Does Windows 10 have "stealth" or force updating? And (I have trouble interpreting EULA agreements) does any part of Windows 10 do data collection? (I strongly oppose ANY data mining)
I just built a new PC and need an OS. I use Windows 7 presently on my old pc and am happy Windows 7. I don't care for Win 8.1 and Windows 7 retail is difficult to find. So Windows 10 was my next option unless any of the mentioned concerns have "yes" attached to them.
Still trying to figure out what it is that keeps waking up my computer from sleep.
I looked in the event logs and found this:
The system has returned from a low power state.
Sleep Time: 2015-08-30T03:12:34.409741300Z
Wake Time: 2015-08-30T03:30:51.010471500Z
Wake Source: Timer - Windows will execute 'NT TASKMicrosoftWindowsMedia Centermcupdate_scheduled' scheduled task that requested waking the computer.
What I don't understand is why is mcupdate waking the computer if Media Center was removed from Windows 10.
But more importantly how do I stop this from happening?
I've had my new HP Windows 10 for 2 months. Without asking, it was just updated, and took a couple of hours. When it was completed, all my taskbar icons were removed, I can't access the start button, can't open up "ask me anything" button, and probably other things. What to do?
View 1 RepliesJust yesterday windows 10 mobile insider fast ring has linked mailboxes, updated last night 11/19/15 and now option is no more?
View 2 RepliesMigrated OS 8.1 from HDD to SSD . Migration software installed command line in bios "Boot Manager on Disk 1". If I do a format of SSD will bios revert to original without the reference to disk 1. I intend on doing a clean install of Windows 10 retail version in UEFI mode....
