Is there anyway to change the default 'Calibri' font that is set on opening Notepad or Wordpad?I would love to open Notepad to find the font set at something I like. 'Verdana' for example, so I can just get straight on.I know I sound lazy, but I use Note or Wordpad a lot, often dozens of times in a day, and I need to use a font I can see. I'm just sick of having to do this adjustment every bloody time!!

Using Mail for Win 10 for first time, as that is what appeared for my Outlook email account. I found today that when using either CC or BCC a 'Return' occurs immediately after entering an email address, thereby moving the cursor to the line below, requiring moving the cursor back to that original line so that another email address can be entered, and again and again.. Never saw this before so probably/hopefully a fix is coming.
While typing an email I touched the Caps Lock key mid-sentence and typed one capital letter in error. I touched that key turning off the caps lock function and the light went off. But from that point on I could only type in CAPS regardless of what I did. I had to close email and restart it to have it return to normal.
I've looked and looked and cannot find a way to change default font and size in the mail app. Is there a way or registry hack or what???

For Example,consider the following sentence (without quotes "Under the hood".I usually use shortcuts,so if I want to erase "hood" I won't erase by pressing Backspace key until it is erased completely.There is a shortcut in windows to erase a specific word,and that is Ctrl + Backspace.That way if the cursor is at the end of word "hood" and I press the shortcut to erase it as mentioned above,it won't,instead of erasing the word it'll just make a rectangular box in vertical positon. You can try for yourself too,try erasing a single word with the shortcut Ctrl + Backspace.It won't,it'll just make a vertical rectangular box.

The Internet Options page for HTML editing on my PC only allows me to choose Notepad.

View 2 RepliesI noticed since going to 10 that clicking on magnet links does not open bittorrent. I have rerun windows and still the same problem. in cyberfox i fixed it easily enough, but for chrome and torch no love. I found a couple of things about registry entries but they did not work. I try to assign bittorrent to magnet links in windows but i cannot choose a default app from the system, I only get what you see below which is to "look for an app in the store". there must be a way to fix this so i can pick an app already on my system.
View 1 RepliesWhenever I plug a photo card in to my PC, the new Photo Viewer program is launched (which doesn't find the card but that doesn't matter as I don't want to use that program anyway). How can I change the default import program to one of my choice (Lightroom).
I can of course shut it down, load Lightroom and then select the card but I always have to go through the process of first shutting down the program that loads automatically. If anything is going to load automatically I would rather pick my own!
How can I change my default 'Calendar' app to use my Outlook 2016? So that when say "Hey Cortana", she can make appointments to my calendar managed by Outlook 2016?
View 4 RepliesIt seems the default font on this WIndows is Arial and it's really ugly, especially when reading an entire page in Chrome or in any other browser. Tried to change the font in all browsers- no result. It can change only the size- Arial still there. It bugs me that it's everywhere, even in games. This compact font in games is really annoying and made me quite after playing a few minutes. I have no problems with overlapping or unreadable font problems I've read on this forum.

View 1 RepliesWhen I boot up, reboot, Windows Notepad opens automatically with an error box "! Access Denied" - when I ok that it leaves a Notepad blank screen open. I close that and boot up is complete and I can work normally.

I hate Windows feature that enforces installing localized software - e.g. I live in Poland so if I set my location as "Poland" many apps will be installed with Polish interface, which I don't want to.
Therefore I've installed my OS in en-US version and left US as my location. Now it's all nice in terms of apps interface, as it's always English. Most programs cause no problems with one exception - Notepad...
Whenever I open a txt file with Polish national characters, I see "bushes" instead of them. I tried to open them as UFT-8 encoded, but it hasn't worked. I've changed Notepad default font into CE encoding - no effect.
I tend to believe the default Notepad encoding is set to westerns somewhere, but I can't figure where to look for the appropriate setting - how to change it, so txt files displayed correctly?
Normally, if I have notepad open, I would be able to click and drag an appropriate file into notepad, like a txt file, and it would open in notepad. Now, when I click and drag files into notepad, nothing happens.

Finally, if you want to make systemwide changes to your font settings, you can do so here by looking to the toolbar on the left side of the Font control panel. For example, to increase or decrease the font size for, say, menus and icons, click Change Font Size. Choose the item you want to change, then select a size. (You also have the option of ticking the Bold box, which is actually kind of a nice tweak for things like title bars.)

How do I change the font type in Windows 10? It will only let me change the size. Used to be in the Personalization settings with the themes, but I can't find anywhere to change the type of font now.
View 14 RepliesIn Win.7 you could modify the font for the windows, both size and font itself. Win 10 will not all me to modify size, which is stuck on 9pt, and there is no option shown to change the font to Times from Arial.
This means I have had to alter the scaling to 125% so that the icons on the taskbar are big enough, and the text on the windows readable. This, in turn, messes up the resolution on Skype and another program. How you can get the ability to change font and font size?
