Apps :: Dropbox Missing After Upgrade
Aug 11, 2015I've noticed that Dropbox gets deleted from some computers after the Windows 10 upgrade.
View 5 RepliesI've noticed that Dropbox gets deleted from some computers after the Windows 10 upgrade.
View 5 Replies I first upgraded my laptop, in order to test Windows 10 before installing on my desktop. The laptop worked fine, my apps and peripherals still worked, so I went ahead and upgraded my desktop too. Realized that my user profile was corrupted, which resulted in me not being able to access settings, search, start menu, etc.
I've managed to mostly rebuild my original profile, the start button is working and I can search, but none of the "modern" apps show up anywhere - including the Store. On my laptop all this showed up automatically, and seems to be working fine. Search, Task View and Edge are present, but my start menu is a little, er, naked compared to what I'm seeing on my laptop. Do I need to manually download and install Store and get the other apps from there?
I've just posted a thread but i've got another issue too.
I've been trying to install the Dropbox desktop app and I get to a certain point and it gets stuck on a window that says "waiting for Dropbox to install" and it's not getting anywhere from there.
I am getting photos out of Dropbox (sent to me) into Windows Ex;plorer but I can't get them out of Explorer into my Pictures folder!
View 4 RepliesLately when I try to use the Microsoft Print to PDF feature in Windows 10, it is unable to save to any Dropbox folder. It creates the file but it is 0 size. I can print in any folder other than Dropbox. I can print it to my desktop then copy the resulting file to Dropbox, but unable to print directly.
This had worked in the past, but just noticed it within the last few days.
There is no error that shows up to let you know it failed either. So unless you try to open the file, or notice the 0 file size you will assume it printed ok.
This also occurs with the printer "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" so it is not just the PDF.
This only occurs with my user account. 2 other accounts on the same machine do not have the same issue. So probably permissions issue somewhere?
I'm running Windows 10 on a 12" Retina MacBook and so far it's been great, no issues, couldn't be happier. But starting this week I've been having problems with right click menu's and dropdown menu's in programs like Firefox (bookmark dropdowns), Dropbox (right clicking), and in other spots throughout the operating system.
View 2 RepliesI just did read (and do) instructions about removing OneDrive from the left explorer-pane. (and the quick-access pane) after reading a few hour, with instructions it was done in 2/3 mins
but now the question.. since this is about DropBox and not about OneDrive, I want to remove the DropBox item from the left-explorer-pane, but i do not want to remove (uninstall) dropbox...
I tried to encrypt a file located in my Dropbox account. I went to File->Properties->General->Advanced->Encrypt contents to secure data.
After I did what I did, the file had a golden locker icon attached on it. I opened my other laptop and after Dropbox updated the file to its new version, I tried to open it expecting to see nothing of use. Guess what. I could read my text file crystal clear.
Some desktop apps are missing from the "All apps" section of the Start menu. Most programs are there, but I'd say 10-15% are missing. Apps that are missing also do not show up when searching the Start menu, and they cannot be pinned to the Start screen as tiles from File Explorer. (The option to "Pin to Start" is there, but selecting it doesn't do anything.)
I have a screenshot here of Outlook 2013 missing from the Start menu even though it is present in the "Start Menu" programs shortcut folder. This is one of many examples.
I've tried resetting the Windows Search index a few times and that hasn't done any good.
Additionally, I've tried adding my own shortcuts and folders to the "Start Menu" programs folder and the changes do not reflect on the Start menu "All apps" section. It's as if it has cached the structure somewhere and it is not updating for changes (or it is ignoring some changes). I tried to figure out some way to kick it into resetting but I have not been successful.
I have had this issue for a while, any way to restore these. The Cortana Live Tile and Cortana entry in the All Apps section are both missing so I cannot re-add the Live Tile back.
View 3 Repliessince free upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10 I have lost the cursor & cannot get it back through any settings.
View 1 RepliesI installed the windows 10 upgrade and now my dvd drive is missing.
View 1 RepliesSo, a few weeks ago, I started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on Steam and every time I would exit the game my volume icon and my start button became unclickable. I searched the web for a solution and found a PowerShell solution. It worked, but it only fixed the problem until I decided to play again.
A few days ago, I went to open up my camera app and a screen would open up for 1 second and close. It also happened when I tried to open up the Windows Store.
"@{Microsoft.WindowsStore_2016.27.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe?ms-resource://Microsoft.WindowsStore/Resources/StoreTitle}"
I've tried everything except system restores. I never set up restore points and that's my fault. I really don't want to spend hours downloading all my games and programs again. I also don't want to spend money on a external hard drive to make backups of everything. If I have to, I will. Hopefully there is a quicker and easier fix. I don't understand why there just isn't a uninstall and reinstall option for the Windows Store.
Well, here is a screen shot I made of my issue. I've read through a few other posts about Store errors, I think mine is different than most of the other ones on here.
I recently upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. I noticed some programs were missing from the start menu. Upon further investigation it seems only the programs from my SSD are in the start menu, anything I installed to my second drive is absent from the start menu.
View 1 RepliesFor some reason, some of my apps' window controls are missing their buttons (e.g. close, minimize, settings, etc.).There was once a similar incident on the SevenForums where someone had problems with their window controls not showing up, but this affects the Store apps and the built-in Windows apps as well. Of course I can interact with the window normally, but it's gotten annoying already.
Already ran the sfc /scannow tool and it didn't find any problems...
Already did register the Store and apps. That didn't work. For some reason, it only affects just apps, and not windows for Explorer, Task Manager, MMC, etc.
I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. I can see all my files must still be on my harddrive as my harddrive hasn't gained any extra space. However, when I go to the C:drive Windows.old I cannot locate my old files. I had a massive collection of music and video and want them all back. Am I missing something or looking in the wrong place? Inside Windows.old I have the following files Perflogs, Program Files, Program files (x86), Recovery, Users, WINDOWS. There is a file NTUSER.DAT.gu in the Windows.old-Users-Guest could all my files be in there?
View 2 RepliesI have been using the excellent reg edit tutorial on this site to disable upgrading to 10
Upgrade to Windows 10 Update - Enable or Disable in Windows 7 or 8.1
I like to go manually into the registry without downloading the app to do it, and it has worked well on one my windows 7 partitions.
However on my other windows 7 partition I cant see the DisableOSUpgrade DWORD in the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindowsWindowsUpdate
Why it is missing, I am sure I am logged on as admin and also have enabled hidden files and folders? The size of that partition is 60GB.
I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and now I am unable to open the calendar folder in Outlook 2007. How can I find and open my calendar.
View 1 RepliesUpgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10 last week. The old calculator was removed, but I can't find the new calculator or any calculator.
FYI: I currently use Classic Shell - because I hate the tile interface. The calculator is not in any program group.
I have an issue with some icons in windows 10, some of them are not being displayed by windows.
View 9 RepliesI was downloading an app that i know is safe but the last time i downloaded it was with Win 7 , this time with Win 10 i get the below message , should i have this installed and if i do i am kind of wondering why the Win 10 ISO missed it .
View 2 RepliesI have used an old Brodabund family Tree Maker programme in many Windows versions as they have evolved. I successefully started it running in Win 10 but now I cannot open it. I get a message that tells me that variouse .dll files are missing.
View 1 RepliesAfter downloading Windows 10, thing worked well for a few weeks. After trying to download "Windows Essentials", my entire system has been in disarray. I went back to a previous version of Windows 10 before the corruption, but now NONE of my native Windows10 apps will open. I receive the following error: "There's a problem with (whichever app). Contact your system administrator about repairing or reinstalling it."The PC App Store icon is gone completely (as is the Microsoft Edge app and icon), and when trying to open it through "Search", I receive the following error: "Problem With Shortcut: The drive or network connection that the shortcut 'PC App Store.lnk' refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again."I've tried the wsreset fix, but receive the following error: "MS-Windows-store.PurgeCaches. The application cannot be started.
View 5 RepliesGot mine installed today and went rather smooth. No major problems but one tiny annoying issue. We did the upgrade on 4 machines and 3 don't have this problem. I want to add mail and cal to my lock screen and it is not a option on my machine. (PRO others are home) After a couple reboots I got mail to show in the System->Notifications&Actions section but it wasn't for a while and CAL still is not.Did some searching but everything returns "missing my get windows 10 icon"
View 1 RepliesI'm using Windows 10 Pro. I installed the OS from the ISO file. There is one little bug though.
In the lock screen settings, in "choose an app to show detailed status", the place where I can add the apps for which I want detailed status to be shown like email, calendar, it is not showing. Instead, its showing "none". It means I cannot add an app for whose notifications I want to see in the lock screen.
Also, in "choose apps to show quick status", the only app that is shown is 'People'. No other app is shown.
The windows store app is missing from the taskbar and when I open "all apps" the box by "store" is blank. How do I load app for the store?
