I checked on the stability report last night, and I found out that the "Get Office" app has been having issues every single day.
The computer does not crash, and there was no error message. Without examining the stability report, one would never know there's anything wrong.
I uninstalled the app, and everything seems to be fine now. I sign onto Windows locally, without using my Outlook account.
I Tried to connect to my 2 other PCs this morning. I just get a screen where it says it's 'Initialising Display parameters' but will not get past this screen.
Was working perfectly yesterday! I can take control of these same computers if I try it from my Linux Ubunto PC. So that rules out the network and all of the other PCs which are still on win7
my most used App the Windows Weather app has stopped working, I click on it to open and it open and then closes again right away. Is there anyway I can fix this? Is it a common Win 10 app system fault with the app or is my PC specific that has the problem?
View 7 RepliesI have recently updated windows 10 and find that some apps have stopped working, for instance Facebook and ITV Player/Hub. I am annoyed with this, especially with Facebook, as I am unable to log in with my original account, as it rejects every password I have tried.

Even after i use the office disc to to a install repair; it works for a short time; then the problem starts all over again. It says microsoft outlook has stopped working. This is with office 2010 by the way.

I restarted my computer and since then, the start menu, notifications and all apps like the xbox app and store app no longer work. I did Recovery hoping it would fix everything but didn't. They do nothing when I click on them.They are working for other users on the same PC.Haven't updated anything except Java. how to reset them for the ADMIN User. For what it's worth, I can right-click the Start button since my latest reboot but I can't left-click it. (On the previous reboot, I couldn't right- or left-click it.)

The HP Solutions Center stopped working after Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3132372) was installed Apparently this update controls how flash player is used. HP Solutions Center uses flash player and will not start. I use the HP program frequently to scan documents and photos. Is there a work around for this, or do I have to uninstall this update?
View 4 RepliesMy Maps app that came with Windows 10 no longer works in Aerial view. It's just blackness with my location dot in the middle. The blackness remains, even when I pan and zoom, but the road/normal layer works fine. I have the most current & up to date OS, Win 10 Home, 10586.36 & new Dell laptop.
View 1 Replieshave a problem with usb drivers according to my control panel which says it is fixing the issue and then tells me to reboot but it is not fixed. Keyboard lights up on start but when the first blue window appears it goes off. I can get into the bios ok and the keyboard works there. only one port is working (USB3). as my mouse and keyboard are usb and there is no PS2 port i am kinda cactus at the moment. Been searching for usb drivers for win 10 but not having any luck. Everything was working fine since November until yesterday.
View 2 RepliesI recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. My upgrade has been fairly buggy, but I am slowly working things out. One thing I can't seem to solve is my office apps are not showing up in the start menu folder. I had office 2010 before the upgrade, and that is when I first had the problem. I then uninstalled 2010 and upgraded to office 2013, and the problem persists.
After a few restarts and such I noticed the folder for office 2013 did show up in the start menu, but the only thing inside that folder is infopath. You can see what I mean in the attached screen shot. Also you will notice another folder beneath the first title Microsoft Office 2013. That folder was pinned to the start menu so that I could still access my office apps. I just did that as a quick fix. But not when I right click on that folder there is no option to unpin from the start menu. It only says pin to start menu.
After doing a clean install of windows 10, I am unable to install ms office pro plus. The error is osppsvc make sure you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
View 9 RepliesI am running a dual boot with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 being default and Windows 10 Pro x64 as secondary. I have been running 7 for a couple of years and recently added 10. Maybe I'm not doing something I was supposed to but when I'm in 10 and try to run MS Office 2010, I get an error message that states: "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application"
When I try to run programs from MS Office 2013 a window appears asking me if I want to let this application make changes to my computer. Clicking yes or no does nothing. No error messages or windows appear after that.
Is there something I was supposed to run when I installed Windows 10? Maybe a migration tool or something to that effect?
I am eligible to use Office 365 Pro Plus through my University and was able to use it with no issues on Windows 7, but upon attempting to install the programs on Windows 10 I am unable to activate the programs through the Microsoft Activation Wizard. I consistently receive error code 0x8004FC12 and am unable to continue with the activation process.
I have run sfc /scannow and even did a fresh install of Windows 10 to no avail. I've also tried the quick repair and online repair options using Add/Remove Programs with no success and I keep getting the same error. Running as administrator also does not solve the issue.
From what I remember from installing on Windows 7, I did not even need to undergo the activation process and the programs worked perfectly after installation, so my guess is that the programs are unable to connect and validate my license for some reason. I have tried disabling antivirus programs but this did not work either. Office 365 Online clearly shows I have it activated on my Windows 10 installation but repeated attempts at reinstalling have not fixed the issue.
ok, got a buddy in the uk who upgraded to 10, now he wants to remove microsoft office 03 as its barely compatible with 10 and he wants to grab a more recent version of office. small problem. he cant figure out how to uninstall it. the usual suspects for enabling an uninstall dont appear to show the program. I've directed him to tutorial Apps - Uninstall in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums and suggested option 4. he's currently told me both hdd's and the ssd all have a folder called microsoft office. he's unsure whats what.
edit: for clarification, the SSD is the drive that has the operating system installed to it. one hdd holds installed games, the other gets everything else.
How did I miss this one? I tested Office for Android when there were only Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Then Outlook became available. To be fair, I got an invite, but hadn't paid attention, since I didn't expect more than the base apps in the new Preview.
Now it seems that the whole enchilada is available for Android phones. I'm going to jump off the ledge and guess it's also available for Android tablets, since I haven't read Ed Bott's article.
Mic stopped working after windows 10 update. I can't raise the db levels and it does not record any sounds. Its like its muted all the time, but i cant unmute it. Its an HyperX Cloud II if that matters.

I'm running Windows 10 64-bit and noticed one day when opening my start menu to open up word that in the programs list (now called "all apps" for some reason) the launcher for Microsoft Office 2013 Word wasn't in the folder labeled "Microsoft Office" but rather, it was under the "W" section as its own program. I went into the file location, and all the applications are in a folder there, but for some reason in the start menu, it's not in the Microsoft Folder. This bugs me, and I can't find any way to edit the start menu's folders/programs etc. in Windows 10. Before I continue, I must say that I'm a little biased toward the older versions of Windows, and am rather dissatisfied with the way Microsoft is heading.
View 7 RepliesI have used the Office XP shortcut bar with every windows version up to windows 7 without problems. When I upgraded to Windows 10, the Icons only show a ? and the program associated with the icon will only execute if I right click on the icon and click either open or run as administrator. The program name associated with the icon will display when I hover over the icon.
Is there any fix for displaying the actual icon picture? I have more programs that I use daily than would fit on the task bar. I don't want to clutter my desktop with icons. The shortcut bar allows me to organize my program icons in different task bars so I would like to continue using it.
In 2008, I purchased 2 DVD copies of Office Home and Student 2007. This means that I have a total of 6 activation of the program. (Office 2007 and 2010 give you 3 licenses per DVD, while 2013 only gives you 1)
Over the years, I've upgraded computers, hard drives, reformatted, etc. etc. and all I've done to "unregister" Office 2007 from my computer was to simply uninstall it from Control Panel whilst connected to the Internet. I always did this, in hope that I would be unregistering my product key. Upon reinstalltion, I could always reactivate with no problems. (Except for a few times where I've forgotten that one of my DVDs had ran out of the 3 licenses, and that I had to use the other one to activate).
However, now, I'm curious if there's a way to check how many activation I've used, and also, if there's a way to "clear" all 3 activation on both DVDs in order to "start fresh". How to do this with Office 2007?

View 6 RepliesI have tried various methods to uninstall this app - all failed with the error above. I want to uninstall it because the update in the windows store keeps failing and I don't need it.
So far I have tried pretty much everything I have found via google, including the regedit process of clearing the store cache, but even that did not work.
At a loss now, how to remove this app completely?
I tried to restart my PC. Nothing happened. I tried also to press change but nothing shown. I tried to uninstall it but it says "Access is denied."

Opening an excel file within an email gives me 'corrupt' file. If I save the file I will be able to open it up *sometimes*. I have tricked the OS into opening the file by printing from the email attachment and then clicking 'save'. Sometimes that will actually open the excel file but not always.
I even installed excel previewer for mobile and confirmed that excel (desktop) was the app to open excel files but that did not work.
This is happening with Word as well.
