View 2 RepliesI have all my media, music and movies sitting on a ReadyNAS 516 and have the shares mapped to Win 10 just fine. I can access all my media from the OS and other applications just fine. The issue is when I add "where to look" from both Groove Music and Movies and TV app, they never pick up my media and add to the available media for playback.
View 9 RepliesJust out of curiousity, do you prefer using Groove Music or WMP for playing music files? I have hardly used Groove Music except for certain file types. WMP is still good as ever Is Microsoft going to provide future updates for it?
View 8 Repliesi have never used Groove for music simply because I have an iPhone so my music management has always been iTunes. But I was curious about groove. One thing I can't find any info for is if you was to buy a music track from groove/Windows store what file format is downloaded? On iTunes it's typically an m4a format
View 4 Repliesi noticed that after updating to build 10547 i cant play music and minise the app anymore. this but happened a while ago back on windows 8 and it just went away i think but its very annoying, i have to use vlc to listen to music now and i like groove music
View 3 RepliesWindows 10's Groove Music app ignores every modification I make to albums downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Whether it's song/album titles or cover art, Groove continues to display the music as it was before my changes, while other media players have no problems displaying it with the correct information.
I am not signed into my Microsoft account, and automatic retrieval is disabled. The problem continues to occur even after I've reinstalled the application.
only media player and groove music don't play audio, other apps play mp3 and wav.( MP and MG plays noises).i have IDT High Definition Audio CODEC
View 2 RepliesThis is not okay at all. How can I make them not mute when I minimize them? Someone asked me to go to Settings>Privacy>BackGround Apps.iHeart radio is set to on and that has no difference. Groove music is not listed.
View 4 RepliesSpent the best part of a day fixing my PC after a W10 upgrade this morning. All seems to be working well now except that I have an issue with a couple of Metro apps - those named in the title. What happens is that the apps open and then automatically close themselves after about a second. The main Store app opens fine as do all other Metro apps. Its just these two..
View 2 RepliesI have a bootable windows installation Thumb Drive. Can Macrium make a backup of this thumb drive so in the event of this thumb drive going faulty, I could make another Thumb drive with the backup image.
View 8 RepliesI've been waving the flag for the new ecosystem for quite some time now. This is ridiculous. We're out of beta, you have more than enough to allocate in dev/testing/qa resources, how on earth did this slip through? Is Groove Music muting/pausing/stopping for anyone else when they minimize? I have to leave it open to continue to hear music which isn't the end of the world but this bug really shouldn't have survived beta testing.
View 5 RepliesHow do I stop Grove pausing the music when minimized?
View 2 RepliesI'm just going to open mp3 files with Groove Music, but in open with option there is no Groove Music but it can run the Groove Music, any ways to restore it?
View 1 RepliesWhen opening groove music it flashes on briefly then goes off.
View 3 RepliesI'm unable to add new folders in groove music app on my PC. When I click on 'Choose where we look for music', nothing happens. If there is any way to solve this problem or to restore the music app.
View 2 RepliesAlso does it re-store my existing music files on my computer, thereby taking up more space.
View 2 Repliesfor some reason i can't get Groove Music to actually do anything it show my albums/music, but i can't click on any of it.and when i use Window Media Player, that works fine.
View 1 RepliesEver since the app updated to Groove Music I've been having problems with random tracks disappearing.
I have 156 Gb of music on my laptop and in order to share it with my other devices I added it to OneDrive but whenever I open Groove Music my Recycle Bin gets filled with random tracks from different artists, albums and sub-folders. The tracks are different every time and there is no pattern as to how many are deleted.
I'm still running Vista. I recently purchased a thumb drive with Windows 10 from Microsoft (only because they don't sell them on disc anymore, which is easy and I've done a clean install of Vista half a dozen times from CD-Rom).
Anyway, I plug in the thumb drive, I reboot, go to BIOS, set to boot from USB-HDD. Exit that, and a screen comes up with the device (my USB with Windows 10) at the top and Verifying DMI Pool way down at the bottom. But then nothing. It just hangs there. As far as I can tell, it will hang there forever (but at the very least an hour).
I am looking at making a back up of win 10 on here. I see there are anumber of different ways. On this Hp they have their own media creation tool but it says I can make only one. Is there also a limit to the windows creation tool?
View 10 RepliesOkay, this is a really weird one. For the last 2 months I've been experiencing this reoccurring issue on my new Dell XPS 13 laptop where 1-2 times a day, the audio will suddenly get extremely staticy. It generally will last at least 1 minute but sometimes significantly longer, and will affect all audio, including Windows alert sounds and even the "Playback device" test sound. This affects both the internal laptop speakers and any AUX device. I have not experienced the issue when audio is played through HDMI/DP, but I haven't been able to test it enough to know for certain.
However, there is one exception that I have only discovered today: the audio issue does NOT affect any files played through Win10's new default player, Groove. I have played exactly the same audio file on both VLC and Groove "even concurrently" to confirm.
I've posted a link below to an MP3 recording of it: [URL]
I've spoken to Dell and we have tried countless fixes that I've tried to list below, but the problem persists:
Fresh reinstall of Windows
Replaced motherboard (twice?)
Uninstalled Realtek audio drivers
Updated BIOS
Tried changing all settings in the Realtek HD Audio Manager
Probably 4-5 other issues
My player keeps closing when ever I try to find the correct album info. It only seems to happen when I search for the correct album.
View 6 RepliesSo overall, I was having a issue with creating a system image. It would state that "The specified backup storage location has the shadow copy storage on another volume (0x80780038)"
After reading several forums I found that if you delete the restore points you are able to create a system image.
During my troubleshooting, I was attempting to backup to a 64GBthumb drive (this worked in win8 and win7)..
As I was trying to use the thumb drive, I ran into the following issue..
First it says it needs to be formatted to NTFS. Once I format it to NTFS, it says "The drive is not a valid backup location"

I do not want to use any 3rd party software to accomplish this.
When I had Windows 7, I had literally every single thing in My Documents. Every song, every file, every tax record, every picture...literally everything. That way, when I backed up my hard drive, I just plugged in the My Passport Ultra drive, synced it with My Documents, and everything backed up.
But in Windows 10, I'm seeing Frequent Folders that include ThisPCMusic and ThisPCDocuments. So I figured I would just drag the music folder into the Documents folder, and it would just create yet another subfolder within Documents (other subfolders within Documents include "Resume", "Travel Info," etc. So I figured "Music" would just be another subfolder, as was the case with my Windows 7 setup.
Instead, it made a copy of the music folder, which is not what I want. I want to actually migrate the Music folder into Documents as a subfolder. I thought that maybe I could just copy it over and delete the original Music folder, but what if the copy doesn't work because the original version has been wiped out.
which software to use to copy or sync music files from my windows 10 pc to my windows 10 mobile??Media player is old and does not convert flac to mp4.
View 1 RepliesI have 2 accounts on my machine. On my primary account, the Xbox app would not launch - no error given, just click and nothing happens. So I logged into Windows with my second account and the Xbox app launches with no problem. However, the Groove app won't launch under the second account, whereas it will under my primary account. I have tried the Powershell command to remove and reinstall the app and that has been 100% unsuccessful.
It appears to do nothing more than remove it from the start menu as it still says "installed" if I search for it in the Store. If I reboot, then the Store will allow me to reinstall. The same issue persists in not launching and providing no errors.
I am completely baffled as to why some apps work under one account and not the other - both accounts are admins. Is there something else I can do? I had originally upgraded from Windows 7, but after getting all kinds of BSOD errors, I did a complete wipe and fresh install. I've had these default app not launching errors - or lack of errors as none are shown - since then.
I have seen lots of people saying their Store won't launch or the Start menu doesn't work, but I have had no issues with that...
