Sep 15, 2015If I pin iTunes shortcut to task bar and then launch iTunes, it shows two iTunes icons in task bar. How do I go about fixing this?

Aug 26, 2015I have the latest version of iTunes pinned to my taskbar and whenever I open iTunes, it creates a new icon next to it.
I have had this problem recently on Windows 7, however I fixed it by pinning the 'open' iTunes icon to the taskbar and unpinning the 'closed' one. I updated to Windows 10 and this was not an issue. HOWEVER, now I've purchased a new computer and the problem is persisting BUT this time on my new computer, it doesn't give me the option to pin the 'open' icon. So in other words, if I pin/unpin one of the open OR closed icons, the command will happen to both icons.

Jul 19, 2015I am using Windows 10240 and I have the latest iTunes 12.2.1 installed. I have it pinned to my taskbar but when I open it it creates a second icon for iTunes on the taskbar. I have tried unpinning and repinning both icons several times but that doesn't work. It always creates a second icon when it opens.

Aug 3, 2015One of my pinned items on the taskbar (MusicBee) refuses to act properly. It always shows two instances of the icon when the program is open.
I tried unpinning the items, opening the program from it's folder and then right-click > Pin to taskbar but that creates a duplicate icon as well.
I also checked C:UsersMYNAMEAppDataRoamingMicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick LaunchUser PinnedTaskBar for duplicate shortcuts but there is only one.

Sep 22, 2015When I pin Office 2016 to my taskbar, then click on it opens a new icon on the taskbar instead of using the one already there.
Also, not sure if this is related. But when I right click on this new icon and go to the "tasks" menu with the "New email message, new appointment, etc" links none of them work. Nothing happens when I click them.
Tried repairing and reinstalling 2016 with no luck.

Sep 5, 2015New Dell laptop and everything else works. Have deleted and re-downloaded iTunes 2x. Made sure it's enable in Windows firwall. Even turned off firewall. Deleted McAffee totally. No proxy server is checked. I've googled all day and it seems others are having this problem but I can't find a solution. I'm convinced it's some setting somewhere but I've tried/googled everything. The iTunes diagnostic says iTunes is NOT enabled in firewall, but it is. It will say it's not enabled even if I turn off the firewall off.

Apps :: ITunes Fails To Install?
Aug 4, 2015I am trying to install iTunes 12.2.1 on Windows 10 Pro. During installation I get two errors, I believe they are connected. I am running this as Administrator from a User account. I have also tried running it with Windows 7 compatibility checked, same result.
This is the first error:
The installation continues for a little bit, then it throws this error:
At this point the installation fails.
My brother is in an identical situation; both of us have identical machines, upgraded from Windows 7 (where iTunes worked) to Windows 10, did a system refresh, and encountered this problem. Installing either version 11 or 10.7 do not throw either of these errors, however upon launch, it said it was not installed properly and would need to be reinstalled.

I know that I shall be able to bring in most of my music and I have backed up the ring tones which I have created to a thumb drive. Nov 3, 2015After checking and configuring my router I went to the regular desktop view which is plain and looks like Win7. Only the quick access, internet icon, notices, language and clock icons were visible. I had created a new toolbar which referenced the start menu in Windows Program Data. It was spread across the taskbar rather than compacted and previously available by clicking on the title Programs tucked in beside Quick Access.
There was no visible line to use with the cursor for dragging this bunch of links across into the right side area. I removed that toolbar.
The few daily use Taskbar shortcut icons when created cannot be dragged to the taskbar even if I lock it. (Browser, email, Notepad++,Everywhere search and a link to a Quick Stack popup collection of shortcuts). Any open application is not displaying on the taskbar
Considered a 'Restore' and checked the list of restore points with a utility System Restore Explorer and it lists Oct.20 as the last restore point. I'm assuming Win10 does not do a daily restore point.
The last system image is Oct.7 so several Windows updates would have to be done over and there are a couple of those. Is there a registry edit or workaround to restore the taskbar so shortcuts can be pinned there?
Shortcut To Select Which Icons Appear On The Taskbar?
Jan 12, 2016My challenge is that I'm running a program that refuses to retain it's taskbar setting to always show. So, everytime I reboot, I have to go to "SystemNotifications & actionsSelect which icons appear on the taskbar" and find the program (it's Choicemail) and toggle on the notification.
I have a shortcut to get me to the "SystemNotifications & actions dialog", but I'd really like to go direct to the "Select which icons appear on the taskbar" dialog.
I'd use a macro to execute, but with Windows 10 walking away from shortcut keys on most system settings, I haven't figured that out. I also don't know what CMD to use from an admin run instance to get there.

Aug 1, 2015Since I've upgraded to Windows 10, iTunes keeps loading on startup. I looked in the task manager under Startup, and disabled iTunesHelper. I don't see any other apps listed under Startup that are associated with iTunes or any other apple software.
Am I missing something? It's a little annoying having iTunes loading on startup.

Dec 7, 2015Back when I got Windows 10 I started having this problem with iTunes that I didn't have before with 7. When I go to close iTunes it freezes and then this message pops up, "One or more applications are using the iTunes scripting interface. Are you sure you want to quit? If you do nothing, all applications that are using the scripting interface will be automatically disconnected in (20 second countdown)" My options are Quit and Don't Quit.
When I hit quit, or let the countdown run out, it closes iTunes and everything is fine... for about 20 seconds, because iTunes suddenly re-opens by itself. Are there some new Windows 10 apps that are talking to iTunes even when it's off and they make it open again? This is really annoying because iTunes is always connecting to the iTunes store and causing lag spikes while I'm gaming. If

Aug 6, 2015One of the casualties of my upgrade to Win 10 Home was my iTunes library. Basically, iTunes could no longer find my music, even though it hadn't moved. To cut a long story short, I ended up creating a new library and all was well - or so I thought. Since then, however, every time I boot my PC, iTunes loads at startup, and the curious thing is that there is no reference to the programme in any of the startup folders, nor in Task Managers Start Up list. I also use CCleaner, and that also shows that nothing apple related should be running at startup.
Clearly something is causing iTunes to run? I should add, there are no iPods connected to the PC, and iTunes helper is also disabled via CCleaner.

I downloaded the program and have been using it since I got this computer about 5 weeks ago.
I had a shortcut on my desktop and one on my taskbar at the bottom.
I also had an app in my charm bar in the windows window in the bottom left or whatever the popup is being called now...
A couple of days ago the Chrome shortcut went from the familiar Google colors to a white, blank sheet of paper in the taskbar. I tried to reload it but I keep getting a message about an error code.
I can still search with google using the blank piece of paper looking icon in the taskbar and I get google when I cut on the computer. But I want the shortcut and the familiar looking google colors back.
I was going to delete the program and reload it but I don't want to lose all the bookmarks I have already loaded.
