Apps :: Check How Many Activation Are In Use For Office 2007
Sep 7, 2015In 2008, I purchased 2 DVD copies of Office Home and Student 2007. This means that I have a total of 6 activation of the program. (Office 2007 and 2010 give you 3 licenses per DVD, while 2013 only gives you 1)
Over the years, I've upgraded computers, hard drives, reformatted, etc. etc. and all I've done to "unregister" Office 2007 from my computer was to simply uninstall it from Control Panel whilst connected to the Internet. I always did this, in hope that I would be unregistering my product key. Upon reinstalltion, I could always reactivate with no problems. (Except for a few times where I've forgotten that one of my DVDs had ran out of the 3 licenses, and that I had to use the other one to activate).
However, now, I'm curious if there's a way to check how many activation I've used, and also, if there's a way to "clear" all 3 activation on both DVDs in order to "start fresh". How to do this with Office 2007?

Dec 28, 2015I installed Win10 when the upgrade became available...all seemed well until recently. I am using Office 2007 and when i try to save documents, ie; excel or word, i am told i am unable to save to the document folders or previous .xls folders that i had created. The system will let me save the file to the desktop...then i have to drag and drop into the designated folders...with a prompt telling me that i need admin privileges. What gives with this?

Nov 27, 2015We've got a main info@ email address (which is actually just my own as the boss, not currently a shared mailbox), then a few name@ addresses for individual staff members. Email is through 365 but we all use Outlook desktop as opposed to the webby version (well, 99% of the time anyway).
I want to grant the various staff members permission to be able to 'send as' info@ without actually sharing the whole info@ mailbox. Can that be done?
Outlook 2007 Has Corrupt PST File
Sep 1, 2015I cannot find out how to fix a corrupt PST file. I tried to use the "FixIt" program from microsoft, but I get a message saying it won't run on Windows 10. I cannot find the SCANPST.EXE file and there is no Accessories/System/Inbox Repair tool in Win 10. Any fix for the corrupt PST file in Win 10?

Aug 5, 2015I have noticed today that the Mail app in Windows 10 does not sync my Office 365 or Outlook.com accounts, nor does it provide any notifications. I have the accounts set to download messages as they come in. I can only manually sync them. Additionally, the Mail app is not listed as one of the options to run as a background app.

Aug 7, 2015I was messing around with folders and stuff in Windows 10, now this Microsoft Office Outlook icon is stuck on my desktop all of a sudden and there is no way to get rid of it.
-Doesn't provide a delete option
-Selecting it and pressing the delete key nor shift+delete works
-Doesn't show up in explorer when you navigate to Desktop folder
-Doesn't appear in search results
-Even trying to open it does nothing
-Is visible when using the Unlocker program, but still no option to delete. Clicking 'OK' just closes Unlocker.
Wasn't really installing anything when I noticed it, and malwarebytes found nothing, so I'm pretty sure it's not a virus or anything.
-Someone told me to "hold shift, right click empty area on desktop, click open command window here in the right click menu, type dir & hit enter, type del "name"" but it didn't show up there either.
-I was asked if I ever had Office 2007 or how old my machine is, but the answer is no and I built this desktop in 2011, just last week did a fresh install of Windows 10 Home. Also, this just appeared today; never before.
-Was told its a registry entry, not a file, and to to look for it in regedit [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer but it's not there
-Told to delete {00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerDesktopNameSpace but it is also not there.
The only thing is that when I search for "Microsoft Office Outlook" in regedit, I get this file:
Deleted it and nothing happens. Reappears when you restart the computer.
I tried booting into safe mode as well as removing the latest windows update that occurred on the same day.

Apps :: Office Apps Not Appearing In Start Menu Folder
Sep 15, 2015I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. My upgrade has been fairly buggy, but I am slowly working things out. One thing I can't seem to solve is my office apps are not showing up in the start menu folder. I had office 2010 before the upgrade, and that is when I first had the problem. I then uninstalled 2010 and upgraded to office 2013, and the problem persists.
After a few restarts and such I noticed the folder for office 2013 did show up in the start menu, but the only thing inside that folder is infopath. You can see what I mean in the attached screen shot. Also you will notice another folder beneath the first title Microsoft Office 2013. That folder was pinned to the start menu so that I could still access my office apps. I just did that as a quick fix. But not when I right click on that folder there is no option to unpin from the start menu. It only says pin to start menu.

Nov 23, 2015I am running a dual boot with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 being default and Windows 10 Pro x64 as secondary. I have been running 7 for a couple of years and recently added 10. Maybe I'm not doing something I was supposed to but when I'm in 10 and try to run MS Office 2010, I get an error message that states: "The operating system is not presently configured to run this application"
When I try to run programs from MS Office 2013 a window appears asking me if I want to let this application make changes to my computer. Clicking yes or no does nothing. No error messages or windows appear after that.
Is there something I was supposed to run when I installed Windows 10? Maybe a migration tool or something to that effect?
Apps :: Unable To Activate Office 365
Aug 6, 2015I am eligible to use Office 365 Pro Plus through my University and was able to use it with no issues on Windows 7, but upon attempting to install the programs on Windows 10 I am unable to activate the programs through the Microsoft Activation Wizard. I consistently receive error code 0x8004FC12 and am unable to continue with the activation process.
I have run sfc /scannow and even did a fresh install of Windows 10 to no avail. I've also tried the quick repair and online repair options using Add/Remove Programs with no success and I keep getting the same error. Running as administrator also does not solve the issue.
From what I remember from installing on Windows 7, I did not even need to undergo the activation process and the programs worked perfectly after installation, so my guess is that the programs are unable to connect and validate my license for some reason. I have tried disabling antivirus programs but this did not work either. Office 365 Online clearly shows I have it activated on my Windows 10 installation but repeated attempts at reinstalling have not fixed the issue.
Apps :: Get Office App Has Stopped Working
Aug 11, 2015I checked on the stability report last night, and I found out that the "Get Office" app has been having issues every single day.
The computer does not crash, and there was no error message. Without examining the stability report, one would never know there's anything wrong.
I uninstalled the app, and everything seems to be fine now. I sign onto Windows locally, without using my Outlook account.
Apps :: Uninstall Office 03 After Upgrading?
Aug 7, 2015ok, got a buddy in the uk who upgraded to 10, now he wants to remove microsoft office 03 as its barely compatible with 10 and he wants to grab a more recent version of office. small problem. he cant figure out how to uninstall it. the usual suspects for enabling an uninstall dont appear to show the program. I've directed him to tutorial Apps - Uninstall in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums and suggested option 4. he's currently told me both hdd's and the ssd all have a folder called microsoft office. he's unsure whats what.
edit: for clarification, the SSD is the drive that has the operating system installed to it. one hdd holds installed games, the other gets everything else.

Mar 5, 2016How did I miss this one? I tested Office for Android when there were only Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Then Outlook became available. To be fair, I got an invite, but hadn't paid attention, since I didn't expect more than the base apps in the new Preview.
Now it seems that the whole enchilada is available for Android phones. I'm going to jump off the ledge and guess it's also available for Android tablets, since I haven't read Ed Bott's article.
Apps :: Word Not In Microsoft Office Folder
Dec 6, 2015I'm running Windows 10 64-bit and noticed one day when opening my start menu to open up word that in the programs list (now called "all apps" for some reason) the launcher for Microsoft Office 2013 Word wasn't in the folder labeled "Microsoft Office" but rather, it was under the "W" section as its own program. I went into the file location, and all the applications are in a folder there, but for some reason in the start menu, it's not in the Microsoft Folder. This bugs me, and I can't find any way to edit the start menu's folders/programs etc. in Windows 10. Before I continue, I must say that I'm a little biased toward the older versions of Windows, and am rather dissatisfied with the way Microsoft is heading.

Oct 2, 2015I have used the Office XP shortcut bar with every windows version up to windows 7 without problems. When I upgraded to Windows 10, the Icons only show a ? and the program associated with the icon will only execute if I right click on the icon and click either open or run as administrator. The program name associated with the icon will display when I hover over the icon.
Is there any fix for displaying the actual icon picture? I have more programs that I use daily than would fit on the task bar. I don't want to clutter my desktop with icons. The shortcut bar allows me to organize my program icons in different task bars so I would like to continue using it.

So far I have tried pretty much everything I have found via google, including the regedit process of clearing the store cache, but even that did not work.

Aug 19, 2015Running W10 pro...with office 365 Outlook/Excel etc...
Opening an excel file within an email gives me 'corrupt' file. If I save the file I will be able to open it up *sometimes*. I have tricked the OS into opening the file by printing from the email attachment and then clicking 'save'. Sometimes that will actually open the excel file but not always.
I even installed excel previewer for mobile and confirmed that excel (desktop) was the app to open excel files but that did not work.
This is happening with Word as well.
