How you change the font of the footnote numbering in a document? Whenever I insert footnote, I get the number (1, 2, 3 ...) in "Times New Romans." I am using "Arial" for my writing, but I want the font "Tahoma" for the numbers of the footnotes. Is there any way to modify the font?
why my Office Word 2013 automatically makes copies of the documents I edit? These copies are numbered: *(1).docx, *(2).docx, etc. I am working on an essay and now I have ten copies of the same file.
Is there anyway to change the default 'Calibri' font that is set on opening Notepad or Wordpad?I would love to open Notepad to find the font set at something I like. 'Verdana' for example, so I can just get straight on.I know I sound lazy, but I use Note or Wordpad a lot, often dozens of times in a day, and I need to use a font I can see. My Computer came with Word 2013 installed on it and I have been looking for a way to scan a Document or Article directly into the Word 2013 program but I can't find a way to do it. In Word 2010 you could Customize and make a Keyboard Shortcut by selecting InsertImagerScan. In Word 2010 I made this shortcut by using the CTRL+8 keys and I could scan directly into Word 10 by using that key combination. I tried to set up the same Keyboard Shortcut option in Word 2013 - The InsertImagerScan is available in Word 2013 but I can't get it to work. How to Scan Directly Into Word 2013?
How do I get Word 2013 to do voice recognition. I don't really want to use Contra if that is avoidable. I think Contra uses Edge and Norton does not want me to do that.
I write a lot and have Office 365's Word 2013 on my Tablet.I noticed this morning when in Tablet mode, if I opened a file in Word and clicked to edit, the pop-up keyboard wouldn't come up. This was an issue as I was unable to locate it in the task bar anymore.In order to update my file, I was forced to go back to laptop mode so I had the keyboard option available again.
I was trying to install WMP on my PC; I disovered that it was already installed, even though there was no icon on the desktop, start menu or application bar.
Anyway, I'm now trying to set it as the default application for opening music CDs. The problem is that it is not listed in the default programs, and I cannot seem to get it included on the list. I know how to associate programs with different file types, but that's not really what I want; I'd like WMP to launch automatically when I insert a CD.
So, I have just bought a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 14) running Win10. After Win7 everything is a bit of a shock. The current problem I have encountered (there are many more) is that I don't seem to be able to force Win 10 to make Photoscape the default app for managing images. I can open individual photos with the program but only by using the 'open with' option.
Trying to use 'Settings', it tells me Photoscape is there, however, it is listed as 'unavailable'. Furthermore, when attempting to make the change Win 10 lists only its own photo app or 'Go to the store'.
I want to know how can I make a line break in Word universal app (on Windows 10) ? When I press return key, that makes a new paragraph (skip a line).
Usually , with the classic Word (desktop), we can press SHIFT + ENTER return to the next line but that is not working on Word Mobile universal app. How can we do that ?

When I log in, I want to go directly to the start screen rather than the desktop and having to click the windows icon/button.I have tried right clicking on the taskbar->properties->Navigation Tab and the only option there is the option to replace command prompt with windows powershell.

PROBLEM: MS Office 2013 can't save files anywhere except in OneDrive (which I don't want to use).
BACKGROUND: Win10 upgrade on Alienware 17 R2 (2015 model) from 8.1 went well - no errors.After using for a few days (normal shutdown / startups), used MS Word to create a document.

Now every time I use Word, it also tries to save normal.docx which it can't save, and which takes multiple steps to finally abandon saving. Since word is used by Outlook, it also means that I have the normal.docx style sheet issue when composing mail or opening attachments. Installed Office 2016 in trial mode. No change. Exactly the same problem with Office 2016 as Office 2013.
Since I installed Win10 I cannot open the calendar section in Outlook 2013. I get the following message: This set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened.
MS really promoted the Web Notes feature of Edge. And SUPPOSEDLY it can save an annotated page as something other than a picture, such as a working web page (search, working links, etc.). But on my Windows 10 PCs, no matter what the target I save to, all I get are pictures of the web page and no discernible options to specify a different format.
What's the secret? Or is that all Web notes can do? If so, what's the point? I can already save a full web page as a picture in my other browsers via extensions and. like just about everyone, have a program to doodle on a picture. Likewise I can save any full web page as a PDF (via an extension) and have far more mark up capability than Web Notes with free PDF editors.
I'd upgraded my sister's laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 without saving any of its files (clean install). Now I was told that she does not know her Microsoft office keys.
Is there any way for me to retrieve the keys? It's a student key which was given by her Uni and she does not keep the keys.
After install of November update, or 1511 (for the 11th month of 2015), or build 10586 windows 10 update now all apps in Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus except Microsoft Word configure each time they start.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus with same result.
It is easy to increase the time an Outlook 2013 Desktop Alert stays on for a long time (hours or maybe all day) by using the registry hack below in Windows 7. This won't work under Windows 10. The longest time I can get by any method, Control Panel or hack is 5 minutes. How to make it at least a couple of hours or preferably all day?

Since i have upgraded to Win 10 i can no longer save any documents i create with MS Word.I try to save and this error messages pops up every time, and now i cant save any projects i create.
Any way to eliminate the error messages below when my neighbor opens Word, Excel or Powerpoint.
Background: I upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10. All went well and there were no problems. They had Office XP with Frontpage (yes that is old) loaded on Windows 7 and it worked fine. When you opened it there were no error messages after the upgrade was completed.
About a week later they wanted a clean install on the laptop because it had been awhile since they ever did that. I do a clean install, Windows 10 Activated successfully so now it was time to reload the applications.
After we loaded Office XP on the machine we started getting theses messages at the point it was loading. Eventually you would get to the application and it was fully functional.
