Apps :: Media Player Won't Enter Fullscreen Movies
Aug 7, 2015
im starting to seriously hate this default media player now... not so much on music even tho when i press stop on my keyboard it still does not stop but anyways back on topic
is there a way to make the media player enter fullscreen instead of just maximizing the window ? ive tried ATL+Enter and still nothing.
I have all my media, music and movies sitting on a ReadyNAS 516 and have the shares mapped to Win 10 just fine. I can access all my media from the OS and other applications just fine. The issue is when I add "where to look" from both Groove Music and Movies and TV app, they never pick up my media and add to the available media for playback.
In windows 7 I could play a DVD in the media player, can't make it work in Windows10? Have some YouTube Video's and they play in Media Player but can't get DVD to play. Don't see in the player where I can go to the DVD Drive ?
Since Win 10 update I can longer play MP4 videos I used to be able to play in Win 7, using Windows Media Player.
Why has this function stopped? I thought win 10 was an "improvement".
This is the error message - Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.
It seems my media player is corrupted since a previous update. It will not play videos without looking like Dr Timothy Leary made them. Is there a place I can download Media Player 12? I went to the Windows download pages but it never has a trigger to download even though its entitled Window Media Player 12 Download, it just brags how great it is.
I have set the default media player for both music and video to VLC and when I double click a single file it opens in VLC. However if I select a number of music files and hit enter or click play at the top of windows explorer it opens windows media player. Even if I right click the files it only gives me options to open in Windows Media Player as shown in attached.
I have set Windows Media Player as the default player for .mp3but have a problem that although WMP is on the start menu when I double clickon it or its shortcut it will just flicker and not load.I have tried different ways to play the .mp3 files by rightclicking on a file and open it but get an error message as shown below. How can I get WMP to load as it seems to be corrupted?
Win 10 - DVD Player, Windows Media Player not compatible with Win 10? This is a shock!! I downloaded the Windows Media Player from the Store and it played the DVD once. When it did not work a second time, I spent 45 mins waiting for Microsoft support and an hour on the phone. They confirmed that the Windows Media Player is not compatible with Win 10. I got my money back but no one could give me a Media Player that is compatible with Win 10.
Just out of curiousity, do you prefer using Groove Music or WMP for playing music files? I have hardly used Groove Music except for certain file types. WMP is still good as ever Is Microsoft going to provide future updates for it?
Im using MPC-HC, and the problem is i cant open mkv's videos which have HD resolution(720p,1080p,etc). before, when i played it on Windows 8.1 its working well, but now when im using Windows 10 why its always Stopped/sometimes Not responding!
why windows media player 12 wont play YouTube video's, it plays the audio side but not the video of it..I had windows media player 11 in before the windows 10 update and now media player wont play the videos only audio.
I'd like to know why windows media player won't play my media files after a reboot. Didn't change codecs. Didn't delete anything.
I did try to restore cos I suddenly couldn't go online but the restore said that it didn't work so I assume nothing was changed
Same exact file, same folder, now won't play.
Oh, and Chrome now won't open. Makes the little "timer" spinny icon thing, then that stops, program isn't open. I know that's a different problem but it started at the same time
It's extremely frustrating to switch to what you think will be a new and improved os and have these things happen
And it's not like I have an old printer that won't work now or something. This is windows media player
After upgrading to Windows 10, Windows Media Player no longer will play .mp4 or .wmv videos. They played fine in Windows 7, but now, when I try to play a video in WMP, I get an error message saying that WMP is unable to play the file. I am using the latest Shark007 codecs which say are fully tested and supported for Windows 10. Is there a newer version of WMP for Windows 10, or is there something else I need to do?
Trying to play a movie off of my E: drive and it plays with good audio and video for about 3 seconds. Then it starts acting like it's buffering from the internet and pausing for several seconds before playing again...ultimately crashing the program with an error message telling me to contact the maker of my Xbox for support. This is a PC I built without scavenging XBoxes or any other video game consoles, even the dust that ended up in the case is original. Why the hell does it think I need to contact Xbox.com in order to solve this problem? Further more, this movie has been on my hard drive for years and hasn't had problems playing until Windows 10.
The exact text of the error is here:
Can't play.
Please try again. If the problem continues, visit Xbox.com to check for guidance.
Recently I am notice Media Player is crashing while Groove cannot even find a single media file out of 100GB music. Audacious stupid Groove asks: "My dear please tell me where to search for your lovely music files?", but then turns over and goes to sleep. Very disappointing. Now I cannot play any music neither by Media Player nor Groove.
Am trying to re-install iCloud on a 32 bit machine and keep getting the error message that I am missing media features and to download them. I have downloaded the Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10 and installed, but no luck.
Have tried the "Turn windows features on and off" trick to see if WMP was unticked and do not have any Media Features options at all.
Computer seems to have wmp in C:Program Files (x86)Windows Media Player, but cannot run it as it is saying that it is not properly installed and needs to be reinstalled. Clicking on the link takes me here:
How do I access all my songs from media player once windows 10 is uploaded. Where does the music play from then. I am hesitant to download 10 until I know my music is safe. What to do with all the music in media so we don't lose it.
