View 4 Repliesvia HDMI and my HD TV works just fine except things like Netflix in either IE, Edge or the Netflix app. Audio streams but the windows is black whilst everything else works fine. Windows 8 does not give me this problem. As soon as I move the window or Netflix app to the main screen the video is shown in the window or app.
In case I forgot to forgot fill in my system specs: Laptop MSI GT70. I thought I read somewhere that having an integrated GPU such as this laptop has part of the problem. My other laptop: ASUS doesn't have an integrated GPU and works with Netflix streaming on my HD TV.
I've some AVI and MP4 files with external .SRT subtitles that I'd like to convert to MKV with embedded subtitles (not forced). That way I can forget about the .srt files that don't always play properly on MEZZMO / SERVIIO or PLEX when streaming. The embedded ones always work properly !!.What's the best setting for Handbrake so I don't lose (or lose minimal) quality when re-encoding -- MP4->MKV should be almost a 1:1 copy but I'm not sure of the settings.
the subtitles all work though when embedded even if the original .SRT file didn't when streamed. (VLC always works BTW but I want to play these files on REMOTE DNLA devices).
Having issues with the Netflix app in Windows 10 Home? I upgraded my main desk top PC with Win 10 at the weekend and all went well. Today I installed the Netflix app from Windows Store and it won't load. It starts to open, then simply shuts down.
I tried downloading the app to my wifes laptop (which was upgraded earlier today) with exactly the same result, so presumably it's an app issue or more general Windows 10 issue.
1 the netflix app in the win app store has not worked on my win10, everything loads up fine and you click on a movie/tv show and it buffers at 7% than 21% than goes back to the content menu, I have tried everything I can think of, uninstalling the app, reinstalling, deleting cookies, Installing the Windows 10 Media Feature Pack which someone on reddit auggested but nothing.
View 4 RepliesI have updated my laptop to windows 10 and since then the app wont work, I have also tried loading it on the internet and chrome but it still doesn't work. Every time I go on it works but when I press what I want to watch it loads and then comes up with the message "There is a problem with this system's configuration that prevents Windows from playing protected video. Please make sue you have the latest Windows Updates {which I think I do but don't know how to check} as well as Windows 8 certified video and audio drivers installed".
View 9 RepliesTwo week ago I upgraded to windows 10 and immediately installed a new SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD Drive. All is working fine with the exception of Netflix that freezes avery minute or so in medium and full screen, (works ok in minimized screen).
I understand Netflix needs "Silverlight" to function which is supposedly supported by Windows 10 but not by Windows Edge. I've tried running Netflix on Explorer but still have the same problem.
Since installing Windows 10 I cannot watch movies on Netflix. I can access the Netflix website, however, when I click on the show I was watching I get an error message.
I know it's not the Netflix website because I can watch the movies on my other computer.
I installed Apowersoft Streaming Audio Recorder 3.4.4 on Win 10 OS, and some weird message came when I'm trying to open it. I remember that last time when I open it like month ago it was opening normally without any problem, and now this. I tried reinstall clean everything with revo uninstaller, I was googing but no luck. What to do, sfc scannow is my last option.
Picture of problem:
I upgraded my Lenovo U310 laptop from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 a week ago. Everything seems to have upgraded successfully. The only problem that I can find is that none of the video streaming from Windows 10 apps can be played. I get an error 'Unsupported video type or invalid file path' when I click on a video article in USA Today or when I try to stream video from any other apps, NBC News, MSN Money, etc... from Windows 10 store.
I have no issue streaming videos from any of the browser though. What could be missing that could cause video streaming to fail?
The 'Snip' is one of my Favourite tools in the Box in Windows 10
As when I'm building a Website for someone, if they have a Photo Online that they would like me to use on their Site, then rather than download it from an email, that 'may' contain a Virus from someone I don't know, I can just 'Snip it' and Paste it, into their New Website.
I have tried both day light and low light, every time i take image automatically add black/dark transparent layer to the image after the 'adding finishing touches..' thing.
View 4 RepliesI got mine with everything installed. So if I uninstall and reinstall Realtek, I might mess this up more. I don't even know what version I have and I can't understand the terms used in the instructions.
Should I just wait for a system update form Microsoft. Or do I really have to uninstall my audio software?
Most people I've seen usually have appalling (almost unreadable) quality when using an external monitor with an HDMI cable -- it's quite simple to fix really easily. Films / video are usually OK but if you are reading email or doing standard computer work then you want the monitor to give you decent results.
First ensure that the "Sharpness" setting on the monitor is set correctly -- oversharpening makes text etc look terrible.
secondly use something like "Auto size" so the picture size fits the screen properly rather than be slightly too large or small even if say 1920 X 1080 HD is selected.
thirdly use correct frequency for scanning -- in Europe should be 60 or 59HZ - use the "p" choice not the "I" one.
finally use sensibly the smart picture settings if you have one or use colour / tint / contrast / brightness settings properly.
Messing around with these controls really does turn an external monitor from in some cases having an almost unreadable screen to a pleasure to use --even on cheap 22 inch TV's.
Use the monitors own menu - don't do it from the PC display settings.
A typical laptop's video card will be perfectly ok on these types of monitors.
I use an ACER ASPIRE 4736Z laptop running on windows 10 32 bit OS. I have tried many versions of realtek and updated all my audio drivers but still i don't get the option studio quality for the microphone settings in realtek audio manager. Instead i get only CD and DVD quality options. This doesn't work as I always get a hiss when I record using my microphone. I have adjusted the microphone settings in the control panel as well. Need getting the studio quality option for the microphone in realtek audio manager. Find the attached image
View 8 RepliesSo I've just recently upgraded to windows 10 from windows 8.1 and for the most part I have no audio. A few seconds after I started windows 10 I was able to get very low quality audio for about 5 seconds and then it just stopped working. (using mpv with a FLAC file) The only place that the audio works is the realtek audio manager sound test. I've tested other headphones with the computer and they haven't worked either. I've also tested my headset with other devices and it works fine. I've updated windows and installed the latest realtek audio divers and nothing except for the the sound test works. (I'm using an MSI z87 GD65 btw)
View 1 RepliesI can't seem to get Netflix or Hulu plus to work via the apps. I've gone through all the windows updates, tried to figure out the video players. Sometimes, when I play Netflix, it says system configuration error, and to check my windows update and my video player. I've done all of that. Sometimes, it plays sound, but there's no visual.
View 1 RepliesI downloaded the Netflix APP from the Windows Store but it will not open, I even tried shutting down my anti-virus and firewall programs.
View 1 RepliesAfter I installed windows 10 (from windows 8.1) I try to run the Netflix app but it start to run and then close. No error message.
View 1 RepliesMy wife recently updated her SP3 to Windows 10 and, well, it's been an adventure.. Anyway, we both have a user account on the SP3 and she has Netflix installed and it runs fine on her account. I tried to install Netflix on my account and it appeared to install OK, but when I click on the tile, nothing happens. Also, when I right-click on the tile, I don't get the option to uninstall. Eventually I had to uninstall via the "apps & features" panel.
Tried multiple times to reinstall from the app store, but the same thing happens each time.
I upgraded my video card to a MSI Radeon R9 390 recently. But my Motherboard is a Gigabyte Model: GA-870A-UD3. It is running on PCI-e 2.0 rather than 3.0 but I don't know how to verify that this is what is causing the BSOD.
I am also running two types of RAM in my computer:
Corsair 2x 2GB RAM
Kingston 2x 8GB 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL11
I have a Corsair HX650 as a powersupply. I would've thought that this PSU is sufficient for the hardware that I'm running.
I play games such as GTA V, Starcraft II, Counter Strike: GO and it crashes at random times - sometimes even in the menu screen.
Look forward to hearing back form you and telling me what type of tests I can do to try and find the root cause.

I upgraded my mobo from a 770t to a new GA-970a-us3p. Ever since then I've been getting reboots when I play a video or netflix. I've tried:
prime95 stress test with no problems, memtest with no problems updated the drivers updated the bios to fb replaced the video card and
power supply (I wanted to do that anyways) re-seated cpu and memory updated from win 7 to 10 disable the audio from bios with no change Furmark ran for about 90 minutes without difficulty
HWMonitor showed cpu at max of 62 and gpu max of 60. tmpin1 was highest at 72

I keep trying to turn streaming on and it keeps turning off. My receiver is flagged "device access is blocked". I check the box marked "allowed" and the device changes to "allowed access using default settings". Then I click "OK". When I go back into the streaming options the "allowed" box is blanked and my receiver is back to the "device access is blocked" setting. When I did this on Windows 7, piece of cake, it worked. On Windows 10 nothing but a giant hassle. What's worse, I just did this this morning and it worked!!! I played a whole bunch of music on my receiver. Later today I re-booted and now the streaming is gone and I cannot turn it on!!!
View 2 RepliesI recently upgraded to windows 10, and I wanted to stream my xbox one to my windows 10 PC, I plugged in my controller, installed the drivers and everything, but when I go find the option to connect my xbox, it looks like this, there is no option on the side to connect it, URL...
View 1 RepliesI have been trying to record streaming video from a site using several addons for firefox when I try to caputre the stream or download the url it only captures downloads a few mins of the stream and then another url will show up from the site that is only a mb or 2mb and it will repeat this ad nausium for the lenth of the video so there are hundreds if not thousands of urls that are like only 30 seconds to a few mins of the film... I am wondering if there is anyway to record the stream in these cases?what I mean by getting hundreds of url's while streaming video
View 1 RepliesI'm getting an Xbox One for Christmas. If I have the Xbox hooked up to a TV, can I still connect it to my laptop, which is across the house? If so, can my brother play the Xbox on TV while I play it on my laptop? Two games at once?!
PS: This will all happen after Windows 10 comes out.
