When I want to open some picture in windows 10 photo viewer he open separate window with some album and other stuff, and I don't want that, I just want to see that photo that I open. I am really struggling with this new photo viewer, is there any fix or something to force that photo viewer to just open my photo when I click on her and not the other window with albums too.

View 3 RepliesIn the previous versions of Windows it was possible to select multiple pictures in a folder and when I hit enter, it opened a single instance of Photo Viewer. Then I could go left or right and it only showed me the pictures I selected. In Windows 10 however, selecting multiple pictures and hitting enter opens up multiple instances of Photo Viewer.

I know there have been problems on this in earlier versions of Windows.The ONLY time a folder opens in a new window, is when the folder is located in the PICTURES folder. On some occurrences, the folder I'm clicking is opening twice.
Another strange thing I noticed, is when I delete something. When I used to delete something, the folder would automatically update and remove the file without me needing to do anything. For some reason I have lost use of the Edit Photo options. How to get it back? I can open the photos just fine. But when I click on the edit buttons it says "Can't edit. We are having trouble opening this file for editing." I have not change my file types or anything else. Tried several different pictures and it just keep saying the same thing. Was working just fine for the last 2 years.

View 3 RepliesSo I've been using this Asus K401L with Windows 10 installed for over 3 weeks and it's been working perfectly. Yesterday, my touchpad started to act strange and I was unable to double tap to open folders/icons. It is very strange because, I can double tap and move the touchpad and select all, and even single tap works. It's just that, I can't double tap and open folders. I plugged in my external mouse and I had no issues.
I tried repairing Asus Smart gestures, playing around with mouse properties, but nothing seems to work and I still can't open anything that requires double tap. I can even double tap on an icon and drag in anywhere using touchpad. Double tap to launch/open isn't working and that's the problem.
NOTE: My laptop doesn't have Elan Settings in mouse options.
Things I did yesterday : Using Eclipse, Changed "Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsPower OptionsSystem Settings" and changed what closing the lid does to "nothing" and after some time I reverted it back to "sleep" and I installed COD Ghosts, which took almost 2 hours to archive.

View 9 RepliesI am using Windows 10240 and I have the latest iTunes 12.2.1 installed. I have it pinned to my taskbar but when I open it it creates a second icon for iTunes on the taskbar. I have tried unpinning and repinning both icons several times but that doesn't work. It always creates a second icon when it opens.

I have already go to control panel> default program >windows photo viewer but here is no jpg and png file, I see only tiff, tiff file. so at this time how can i solve this problem.

I can't open any photo files, it says they have the wrong file name. I had to update windows 10 because word stopped working ( I had already updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8, thinking it can't be worse than Windows 8 - but I was wrong about that.)
Word 13 stopped working a few days ago, and a computer techician tried to identify what was wrong. After checking various things he reinstalled Windows 10. Now I can't open any photo files, it says they have the wrong file name. I could always open the photos before. How can I view and edit my photos as I could before ?
Also is this problem with Word 13 continually jamming and stopping working also due to some windows 10 issue, or is it a virus ?
My problem is that I set Media Player Classic for MP4, MPG, AVI, MKV and other formats and Windows Photo Viewer for JPG, PNG etc. The next day for some unknown reason I see these associated with Windows Video and Photo app instead! I right-slick on a MP4 files, select Open with->Choose Default app and set Windows Media Player Classic again for the millionth time. The next day I see the MP4 files associated with build-in Windows Video app!
I usually leave my computer running with the monitor switched off when in work (so I can access it via TeamViewer), rarely restart, if that matters. For other details see my specs.
Can a file folder open it it's own window all by itself without any of the drive's other folder structure showing?
I have certain folders I must refer to frequently and I'd like to create a shortcut which would pop one open in a new window without having to wade through the whole drive's folder structure. This was normal on my last pc running XP but I can't seem to duplicate in Win10.
Running Windows 10 and whenever I tried and right click a file and select "Open with" I don't that that small window to appear and show me what apps to select. The window where the file is on loses focus but nothing happens until I click or press a key.
View 2 RepliesI've been using windows 8 since it was about a month old, and this always worked this way for me, if I am in file explorer looking at pictures and i open one, a window opens for the image viewer then if i go back to the file explorer and click another picture it will open in the same window that the other picture was in.
now when i upgraded to windows 10 it made me use the new win10 photo viewer, it was ok but it always opened pics in a new window. so i found out you could use the old win8 photo viewer in win 10 so i did that, but it still opens in a new window every time.
is there any way to make each picture open in the same window like it did in windows 8?
It's a minor annoyance but once every 5-10 tries the mouse will fail to grab a program or explorer window when it should be dragging it across the screen. I'm positive it's not an issue with my wired mouse because I never had problems before Windows 10. Just to make sure I used the mouse to drag files and folders around over 100 times with perfect accuracy, so it's definately something funky related to just the title bar of any program.

View 5 Repliesmy Outlook just won't work.
This is the error message I'm getting; "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The of folders cannot be opened. The operation failed".
I have tried the following;
- Running outlook.exe /resetnavpane
- I have ran the SCANPST.EXE program.
- I have also COMPLETELY uninstalled Office (using REVO Uninstaller, which removes registry entries also) and reinstalled it.
What happens now, after a fresh install, is that Outlook just will not open. It's looking for a PST file, and if I point it to any of the 3x PST files I had before this issue it gives the error as above. So why should a clean install not have a PST file?

I've been fighting properties window since I installed window 10... I use this function a lot. The problem is the properties window opens in the background. So I have to minimize all the windows I have open to see the properties window. The weird thing is the properties window is the only one that does that, When I open a new window of anything it opens in the forground. Is there a way to force the properties window open in the forground.

With a few opening-closings I realized that every time I open the folder anew, it gets repositioned a bit lower, diagonally. This wasn't happening on Windows 8.1. Is there any way to keep the folder in the same position every time I open it?

I can't find a way to do this in Edge - in general, the number of user-adjustable settings seems to be MUCH smaller in Edge. Is there a way?

Updated to 10 and it's been working ok but now after booting up and getting to the home screen with task bar I can not get the main window to open. If I open an app (left click opens the menu ok) ie Firefox it shows in the task bar and the small window appears but the main window will not open. It probably something simple but I am stuck.

Rather than let her deal with any fallout from an automatic Win10 upgrade While I wasn't around, I did it manually myself from a 1511 ISO. Apart from failing to carry over the installed Intel HD Graphics drivers (a common occurrence), things went fine.
Last night she was using the machine, and paused for dinner while writing a lecture. From the other room we heard several barrages of musical chimes coming from the office. Each time I ran into her workroom and saw nothing new on the screen.
After the 5th volley, I looked more closely; checking the notifications icon in the systray, and noticed that it had flagged new notifications. What were they? "Look at the photo album I created for you!!!". Five times. Geez.
How to turn off this behavior, delete the "automatic" and unwanted albums, and prevent this from happening again?
