I cleaned and removed spyware to no avail.
After using a pc optimization program called Wise Care 365 I noticed that the windows 10 control panel is completely gone. Even when I search "control panel" it doesn't show up.
View 10 RepliesI am unable to find my Control Panel today. I see the words control panel when I right click on the menu after clicking on the start button. But nothing happens. It does not open. I have been researching it all day but to no avail. I am using an Acer laptop and I updated to Windows 10 last July. I have had this control panel until today. How to restore it?
View 4 RepliesI installed an application "Clone File Checker" and uninstalled that using "iObit Uninstaller" with Power Unistall" option. After that, i am not able to open Control Panel, Programs & Features, Power Options and System from the Start Menu. Clicking on each of these gives an error in the enclosed screenshots, but all of them display the error message "This file does not have an program associated with it to perform this action. Please install a program, or if one is already installed, create an association in the Defaults Program Control Panel". Only the file names are different. When I try to set the Default Applications, I do get a similar error message.
Moreover, clicking on the File Explorer from the Start Menu opens the Explorer screen, but when I pin to the Taskbar and subsequently attempt to open tit from Task Bar, I get an error message.
I'm wondering if there is a way I can add Control Panel to my start menu in the same area where Settings is currently located.
View 4 RepliesI do not need Microsoft Office that came with Win 10 is it safe to uninstall it from Programme and Features in Control Panel?
View 6 RepliesI have passed from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I remember that on the windows 7 i could drag and drop in the start menu

I would like to have the same on Windows 10 but i cannot sort it out. How you can see in the attached picture, the list is always empty:
So, anytime I open the control panel i'm getting the error seen in the attached image. After getting this error the contol panel closes and all the desktop apps disappear for a few seconds as if the system has just been restarted.

How to add my own program that doesn't appear in Default programs list?
I am trying to set Quicken as my default PFM application (so that it will automatically open QFX file types), but even though the program is loaded and working it is not presented in the list of "applications" to be selected and used as a "default" application?? When I search for it, Windows does not find the application.
Also, I've set Internet Explorer as my "default browser" and chosen the option to open all associated file types, but whenever I click a URL or link embedded in any e-mail or document, I am asked what application I want to use to open it. I select "Always use this app" every time, but the next time I click on a link/URL I get the same annoying pop-up. How do I fix this??
Not all my applications are found in the Windows 10 All Apps list by the Start button. How can I refresh it, or add new apps and programs to it?
View 9 RepliesI have UAC set one level below default, most programs will run without asking permission, however, Auslogics Defrag and Malwarebytes amongst some others, always need permission to run. How do I give these programs permanent permission to run?
View 3 RepliesNow that I've got Win10,, I was looking around and clicking on stuff to see what was under the hood, I found that you can get to the Old Control Panel like in Win 7, problem is I don't remember how I got there. I don't particularly care for the new Settings menu in 10 but I guess if there is't enough complaints about it, I guess were stuck with it. I do like 10, there are some issues but just like with new stuff, you get bugs.

View 3 RepliesInstalled Win10 and have the following problems.
1) I have no sound; Sound icon on task bars says "No audio Output Device Installed." When I run troubleshooter, it says Troubleshooting couldn't detect the problem.
2) Control Panel: When I click on control panel it opens, however, it shuts down in 15 seconds.
I'm not a techno person. Dummy me didn't back up before I installed and now I can kick myself.
this small problem started when my control panel wouldn't open, when I try it's like my entire desktop gets refreshed (black flicker) and half the app icons in the notification are disappear with no sign of the control panel opening.
I have looked around and found a couple "solutions" but none work tried this in cmd (admin) "sfc /scannow" which ends with no issues found.then tried this which also found nothing.
