I use this PowerShell command to remove all modern metro apps from all user accounts:
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage
However, it does not remove some apps and I have to remove them manually using:
Remove-AppxPackage Microsoft.Office.OneNote_17.6027.10071.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
So, is there a single command to remove all metro apps at once?
I don't have Metro (Modern) Apps (Fresh Install). How do i get it?

I did not and I made a current image of my system before I used this. Below is an image of the Apps that were left:If you decide to use this, please make a backup before doing so. I have downloaded him some games to play but it seems he can only access these when he is logged in as me. Is there anyway that i can give him access to all of his games etc when logged in as himself. I do not want him to always log in as me, as he will have full access to all of my private stuff such as email and family safety etc.

View 3 RepliesA bit of background info: I have installed Windows 10 about 5 times.
The first 4 it would only work until the first reboot because during the setup phase it would automatically install a faulty driver and on the first available restart my Windows would break and I would have to reinstall to get the laptop working again. However all metro apps worked fine before the first reboot.
The 5th time I switched my internet off and window 10 setup finished without internet. That means the faulty driver didn't automatically get installed so I had a chance to switch off the automatic driver installation. However it also meant Windows 10 didn't get activated during the setup phase. I switched internet on, activated Windows 10. Now my computer works fine but all Metro apps are greyed out and not working. For some of them the application crashes and others give me the error "This app can't open". I tried all obvious solutions
sfc /scannow and the DISM commandReinstalling them using: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml"}Reinstalling them using PowershellStarting the Application Identity and App Readiness Services and a couple of other random suggestions I saw online. I am having trouble with the modern apps and connectivity. It feels like half my computer will connect to the internet, and the other half won't. Desktop apps like Chrome, Steam, Outlook, iTunes etc. all connect to the internet fine, but any of the Windows apps like Xbox, Store and (most frustratingly) Settings will not connect.
In my network and sharing centre in the control panel it says 'You are not connected to any networks' - but in the system tray, and in the settings app it shows me as connected to my home wi-fi. I am on a desktop, and using a USB wireless adapter. I don't think the adapter is the problem as I have tried it on another desktop in our house on Windows 10 and it worked fine. Curiously also, when I click 'Adapter settings' in the control panel, it shows the wifi connection.
I've tried updating the drivers for the wireless adapter, both through the Windows update and adapter website but to no avail (and as I mentioned, it seems the adapter works fine elsewhere). I've updated manually to the latest Windows 10 Pro build, i've done a DNS flush, I've tried disabling firewalls and anti-virus, I've tried disabling startup apps, I've done a clean install of Windows 10 and still am unable to fix the issue.
I have some issues with the metro apps in Win 10. They don't open, and have unusual names. This actually started a couple days ago when my taskbar and start menu wouldn't open. While browsing the web, I saw exact same issue get told to enter a powershell command and he replied saying it fixed it. The command in particular was:

Long story short, It did anything but fix it, and gave it messed up names. I can click and click, but nothing shows up, even for a split second. I've tried to open an app from the .exe inside System32.
I'm running Windows 10 Home RTM 10240. I originally upgraded from Windows 7 Home Premium on August 11, 2015 but because my Start Menu and Windows Store stopped working a few days ago, I had to do a in-place reinstall which fixed everything and all the apps including Windows Store and Start menu work on my only account on the system which is a Administrator account. However, when I create a new account, some of the apps don't work and usually, they can be fixed with downloading from Windows Store but unfortunately, Windows Store doesn't open in the newly created accounts, I have already tried the following:

Will work as a app but the live tiles will not work and grey out even though it will open the app while
reinstalling the apps individually in Administrator Powershell using the package names in C:Program FilesWindowsApps will install the app completely and Live tiles will work, seems like the previous method is only partially installing each app using the Movies & TV App as a example:

It appears that many sites are referencing C:WindowsWinStore as the Windows Store app installation directory except it doesn't exist on my system as Windows Store is actually in
C:Program FilesWindowsAppsMicrosoft.WindowsStore_2015.8.25.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
It seems the above will only fix the apps on my original account but not on the other user accounts on the system.
Is there anyway to fix the photos app for a specific user account? On my main admin account it works ok. But there was a series of updates to some of the native apps a few days ago, one of those was the photos app. Since then the photos app will not work on my wife and son's user accounts (both standard accounts). Clicking on it brings up nothing. When I went into the store for their own accounts and searched for photos it actually gave an option to install it. I tried that and it went through the motions downloading/acquiring license but it made no difference. Still doesn't launch the app for them.
I don't particulary want to have to go through the process of deleting their accounts and setting them back up (which is time consuming). Creating a new user account does get the user a working photos app (as I did a test). Is there a simple way to do it without potentially breaking the photos app on other accounts (where it is currently working)?
I am aware of powershell fixes but I have read some horrible stories where the code just makes things worse and breaks a lot more especially in the current build of 10586. I'd want any attempted fix to be purely isolated to the affected user's account.
It does seem that the native apps have some pretty bad problems with updating and breaking down. Sometimes I go into the store and look at the check for updates section and see them seemingly stuck in the update process. Sometimes they need a bump to get them going. There seems to be a riskiness to when they are auto updating on my own user account and how it can translate to the other user accounts. In this latest scenario the photos app has been rendered useless for half the users of my computer. Why MS cannot make their own apps easy to uninstall and re-install is beyond me. All other non MS apps are easy to work with and can be uninstalled and reinstalled with comfort. Plus unlike the MS native apps they seem to have no trouble updating themselves!
I recently installed Windows 10 Home using the iso. It was fine but after sometime, the start and metro apps had stopped working. I thought that re-install would do the trick. So I reformatted C: and installed Windows 10 again hoping it wouldn't come again. But now after two weeks... the exact same thing happened. Start, Action Center, Settings, Search... not working. Tried the powershell command, didn't work. Also I cannot create a new user because the settings app crashes... Start wouldn't come up at all. Metro Apps like Calculator, Store and all, they just simply crash after showing the splash screen for a second. I can't do another reformat...

View 5 RepliesOne of my many gripes about the whole Metro side of Windows 8/8.1 is the limited ability to adjust the tiny font sizes in the start screen, tiles, app list or basic apps like Mail, People, Calendar, etc. Mail let you adjust font size within a message you were composing, but you were stuck with very small text in the folder, inbox and preview panes.

This has made Windows 10 SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. My question is, what if someday I want to restore some of those disabled apps? Right now, there isn't really anything in the Microsoft Store I want... but who knows, maybe in 6 months, there could be some good stuff in there. How would I go about restoring the Microsoft Store app sometime down the line?

I assume you'd have to use get-appxpackage to list all apps installed, then select ones that aren't in the list.
(The list would just include what's included by Windows by default).
The purpose is for removal of OEM installed apps from new laptops.
I'm giving this computer to a friend and I want it to be a blank slate. How do I disconnect all this microsoft account crap from my computer? The MS website gives instructions but there is no prompt to do so when I try. How do I disable the opening password when booting up the computer? I tried the netplwiz command and unchecked the box but all it did was make another user with the same name. Or is there a way I can make a new admin account for him somehow and delete all the other ones from that one?

All I see is this e.g. People app..By mail app just this error if i try to add any account as seen on the right picture. Its like they're burred deep inside the system and I just can't get rid of them to add them new again. I reinstalled both apps and its still showing this list.. How can I remove these accounts?

I've managed to change the background image of the login screen, but that big circle that shows a picture of the user is pointless and ruins my image.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to understand why I would want to use tablet mode. Apart from the minimize, maximize and "x" buttons found in desktop mode. Aren't the modern tile apps that you can launch straight from the start menu in desktop mode, exactly the same as the ones in tablet mode? Apart from the apps being full screen.
If so, I'm thinking I may as well just stay in desktop mode and launch the apps from the start menu in desktop mode?
I can't run mostly all of my apps: "Mail", "Calendar", "Weather", "Movies & TV", "News", "Calculator", "Windows Store"..........., and the apps I installed before switching to W10 : Facebook, various games....... don't work either...
It only show the start screen, and then crash.
I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and installed my drivers and updates, but I noticed that my mouse click is not working on any metro interface (including Edge). It is working fine in games and other non-metro softwares. I am using Dragon War ELE-G7 mouse.

The icons display properly in All apps and when pinned as tiles.
I installed build 10041 on my PC and since then none of the modern applications start up. I click on them, there is a small flicker and thats it. No modern app launches. I cant even launch the insider app
View 4 RepliesIve updated my 8.1 today and now my start menu and indeed any metro apps wont start (ironic).If I create a new user their start menu is ok. I'm trying to revert back to my 8.1 installation but I cant because I cannot get to the revert option as it lives in the metro settings page NOT the standard control panel (why oh why are there two places with differing options, though in this case if it was all metro I couldnt access anything).
I cant revert using the new user as then it tells me I cant revert because I have added a user since upgrading? I cant start anything metro..I cant start anything from the right click start menu..I cant right click in file explorer (which I have to start via win-r) so its hard to get anything running as administrator..its a total fail of an upgrade for me.
