I am looking for a text editor which will allow me to take multiple lines from one text file (I also have the information in a spreadsheet) and will then replace then lines in another line of that document.
I am trying to make a list for my books and comics.
<Book Series="{name}" Number="{no.}" Volume="{year}" </Book>
<Book Series="{name}" Number="{no.}" Volume="{year}" </Book>
For the comics it would need to replace the above format so;
<Book Series="{Batman}" Number="{01}" Volume="{2011}" </Book>

I use this PowerShell command to remove all modern metro apps from all user accounts:
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage
However, it does not remove some apps and I have to remove them manually using:
Remove-AppxPackage Microsoft.Office.OneNote_17.6027.10071.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
So, is there a single command to remove all metro apps at once?

I have the following in Notifications
I have uninstalled Screenshot Captor, I have run CCleaner over the Registry, I removed all traces of Screenshot Captor from the registry and I've rebooted - yet the Notification list still has those nine entries in for Screenshot Captor How can I get rid if them ?
I no longer need Screenshot Captor because Win 10's built facilities are adequate, for me at least.
MS have never gotten the system tray/notification area functioning properly since... forever

I have just updated to Win10 and wanted to get my laptop to a more Win7 look. I followed a tutorial on how to remove the 'app tiles from the start menu.....(right click -> unpin) but the apps don't remove. I have tried restarting the laptop and then the apps were removed but other apps have appeared.

I wish to remove from "All Apps" some Programs. I do not wish to uninstall them, but just to remove them from that list.
I found that I can add here X:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStart Menu things to autostart, but thats mostly it.
As example, i wish to remove "Steam" folder and Link in the "All Apps" .... but I cannot find anything how to do, besides of a uninstall
Same goes for lots of other stuff I get from Windows as default added... Cortana, Groove-Music, Mail, Contacts, Xbox and what not. I am simply not using all that stuff and it just bothers me that i have to scroll everytime so long to get where i want.
Is there a way, an Program or something that I can hide/remove here all unwanted Links to stuff I do not use at all?
In Win7 I had such a neat and completely clean Startmenu. This Tiles are nice, but I want to have everything clean and the way I want it, and not how the OS is forcing me to have. Like Accesoire... that Point in Win7 really came down to the Stuff i am SOMETIMES using, everything else was removed. IF i need something, i can check where to find that Application via Explorer.... and well, that never happened till now
What Application I can use for a cleanup?

This application will also provide privacy if you choose that. It can remove All of the Apps permanently if you allow it to. I did not and I made a current image of my system before I used this. Below is an image of the Apps that were left:If you decide to use this, please make a backup before doing so. I also would not suggest using it if you are using Insider Builds.

I have about Windows 10. Back on Windows 7, under the all programs list I was able to delete anything I didn't want listed there. Unfortunately with Windows 10 I can't remove everything. So I am wondering how can I clean up the "All Apps" list under the start menu?
For example, I want to remove "Calculator", "Calendar" and "Camera" from all apps. When I right click on these items I can only either pin to start bar or task bar.
Is there any way to remove these items so the All apps is a little bit cleaner?

I have windows 10 and use IE11 / Google. Each time I hover my mouse over an image I get a Pin it message in red, I can't find anything on Google to remove this annoying feature.
I have gone on to their website and disables the feature but it does nothing.

I came from Windows 7 like yesterday and upgraded to Windows 10 last night. I absolutely hate the All Apps menu, and don't see a way to change it much.
Is there a way to simply remove the Alphabet letters from the All apps menu? I don't really need my apps categorized by letter, just sorted.

I have noticed that the Windows 10 "My News" is an app-ified version of msn.com. However, i was wondering if there is a way to manage the sites whose articles MSN is re-posting and then apply this changes on the "My News" app, so that it can be used as an RSS reader.
I am not talking about just selecting the topics you are interested in (politics, movies, weather, etc). I am talking about selecting websites specifically.

Is there a way to completely remove Cortana? I disabled it, but it keeps running in the background.
I did find some suggestions to remove it, but it also removes the search and causes problems to other stuff.

I have a Surface Pro3 which came with win10 installed (unlike my other SP3 which I upgraded to W10). I just decided to customize my start menu a bit with some live tiles re-arrangement.
Problem: I can't seem to pin or unpin apps to the tiles section of the start menu. When I right-click (or touch-hold) and select "pin to start" it shows as pinned (in that the option then becomes to unpin) but the tile never shows up with the other tiles.
Likewise, I can't remove any tiles that are already there.

[URL].... This can be done using the command line tool, PowerShell. To open PowerShell, open the Start menu (press Win key on the keyboard) and type Powershell. When it comes up in the search results, right click on it and choose "Run as administrator". Or you can also press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to open it as administrator. Opening PowerShell as administrator is important, otherwise, the commands you run will fail.
Type the following command to remove all Modern apps from the system account:
Code:
Get-AppXProvisionedPackage -online | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -online
This means that all newly created user accounts will come without built-in Modern apps. This also means that new user accounts will be created faster.
Finally, here's a command that will remove Metro apps for all user accounts:
Code:
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage
This works, I used the last one and every app except Contact Support, Cortana, Edge,Settings and Windows Feedback were removed.
Make a Restore Point and/or Backup your registry before doing this. Caution: Use at your own risk.

I like to remove the default apps that are bundled with Windows 10. Since upgrading to Windows 10 1511, the following commands do not appear to be working for me in Windows PowerShell (running as Administrator ofc)
Get-AppxPackage *3dbuilder* | Remove-AppxPackage
Get-AppxPackage *windowsalarms* | Remove-AppxPackage
No error message is displayed and equally no green confirmation message. Running "Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers" I see the apps simply remain installed. It's like Windows is ignoring my commands.

I'm trying to remove what I suppose are some sort of system items, Mail, Alarms & Clock, Calculator etc. from the "All Apps" menu. Can't do it. They don't appear in the Windows/Start folder either.
I'm never going to use some of these "apps", which I assume is the new hip way of saying "programs". How can I delete?

I accidentally set the .html file type association to be Microsoft Edge, instead I wanted to set it to a text editor. I am at the system settings, choose default apps by file type and I only have four options, three browsers and "choose from the windows store". Is there another way to unset this?
I tried to override this by providing file type association settings to filezilla to read .html by the text editor, but when I try to edit files, nothing happens. I'm not sure why.
