i have recently updated to windows 10 and i have the same problem that i had in windows 8. I've never been able to solve it. The option "show app notification" is disabled and i have the message "Some setting are managed by your organization". Attached you can find a screenshot of my problem.

I can disable "Show most used apps" and "Show recently opened apps" using this key:

But I also need to disable "Show recently added apps" via registry and I couldn't find the related key.

Yesterday while looking thro' my computer i saw an upgrade your facebook to Win 10 sticker,I pressed it and now I cant get any response from the start button the edge button and the store button,the notification button does not respond any more as well.What do I do if I need to install Win 10 again.
View 4 RepliesJust upgraded to Windows 10 and noticed that every time I adjust the volume a notification at the top right pops up for a few seconds. Problem is I'm used to adjusting the volume of my music frequently and that little box is right where my bookmark bar is on Chrome. So when I go to click on my Youtube bookmark, it turns the volume from ~10 all the way to 100, killing my ear drums.
I was really hoping there's a way to disable this volume control but have found nothing and I've turned the sound up to 100 about 3 times today.
How do I show the power icon and volume icons on the taskbar notification area?
I have tried properties - customize - turn system icons on or off
But the power/battery and volume icon are greyed out.
Win 10 pro (upgraded from Win 7 Pro)
Since upgrading to Win10 I've noticed as in the title, my action centre won't play any sounds or toast banner notify me at all. When I get an email in gmail, I'll see the icon in the taskbar go white, but absolutely no sounds or anything.
I've checked the settings and they're turned on, so I'm at a loss at what could cause it. Quiet hours are off as well.
Start button ceasing to work? I can't access many programs that I don't have as desktop shortcuts. None of the notification icons in the systray activate, so I can't access the notify center or change my wireless signal. I've seen this answered on many other forums, but none of the fixes seem to work for me.
View 3 RepliesI have a simple, generic keyboard that has Power / Sleep / Wake Up buttons right above Print Screen / Scroll Lock / Pause.
I want to disable them because I always shut down my computer accidentally and lose all my work.
All solutions I found are for windows 7 and are about tweaking in the Control PanelHardware and SoundPower OptionsEdit Plan Settings, where I can edit Advanced Power Settings.
However, that's the wrong thing to do because the "Power button and lid" section is not only for keyboard, it disables the computer case buttons as well which I normally use to shut down the PC. How I can disable those keyboard buttons in Win10?
I've got a Logitech F310 gamepad. It has the button in the center, which is useful in Steam when in full picture mode. But Windows 10 is treating this as the "Xbox" home button and when I press it, it brings up the little indicator window with the "Click for Help" option. How do I disable Windows from doing this with my controller while still leaving the button functionality for Steam?
View 2 RepliesI have my Windows 10 for around 3 days now, the thing is, in the second day after my computer froze when i was playing counter strike, everything in the task bar but my shortcuts stopped working, they dont open anymore, but when i click it, the cursor blue loading circle shows up but nothing happens.
View 1 RepliesI want jump lists on both taskbar and Start button, they are only showing on Start button. I have checked the registry key that controls this attribute and the value is "1" so both should show. The "Show recently opened items... " switch in Settings is set to ON. Something is supressing the jump lists on my Taskbar icons. I do get live thumbnails on the icons but that is all. Right clicking does nothing.
Windows 10 Pro is an upgrade install and did not clean install afterwards. In my opinion not needed. I have run SFC /scannow and got a clean report.
CORRECTION: The Start button is showing the context menu on right click, not the jump list, unless that IS the jump list.
Is the registry key value 1 to show the jump lists?
I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. It kept prompting me to upgrade to Windows 10, so I did so. Now the button that disables my touchpad (also the F5 button) is not working. The touchpad will not turn off.
Secondly, when I try to move the cursor, the "right click" menu pops up wherever the cursor lands, and it will not let me type. I have to use an external mouse to click out of the menu, then put the cursor back where I wanted it to land.
How can I make the disable button on my keyboard work again, and how can I fix the mouse so that the right click menu only comes up if I actually right click?
Random apps are not showing up in the "All Apps" section of the Start Menu after installing a clean version of Windows 10 (not an upgrade), and re-installing all my favorite software, In other words, finding a launcher to countless programs now means visiting "C:/Program Files/WhateverRandomSoftware/launcher.exe." Well, that;'s no fun.

When I try and open the windows store on my taskbar, it pops on the screen for one second then goes away. Also, when I open my start menu it shows ( ! ) marks on several of my app's, when I go into the settings area under application's..I'm shown that many of my app's are disabled. I've tried a 'fix' that was suggested by going into the registry, but that didn't correct the issue. I've already had to re-install windows 10 pro. at least once. Now when I go into the settings area under recovery, it now longer offers me the choice to go back to my previous o.s. ( Windows 8.1 Pro. ), it just show go back to a previous 'build' instead.

View 9 RepliesThis seems to be a known issue across many Windows platforms: Vista, 7, 8, ... now in Ten.
I am not running Norton or any other malware antivirus (no threats from recent scan) other then Windows Defender. Been good so far all through WIN7 and 8.1.
The Greyed Xs (see attachment) showed up sometime after I updated to WIN10.
Files in X'd folders are accessible and none of the folders are shortcuts to other locations.
All X'd folders are on my desktop. Desktop is used for active folders, projects more or less.
I use a networked WD My Cloud Mirror (MCM) for all my files (docs, music and videos), as well as backup. (Also use Genie Timeline 14 for backup of the WD MCM, connected to MCM va USB 3.0, just in case!) No X's on these folders.
How can I revert desktop folders to their normal look, that is without greyed X's?
A weather app (?) has mysteriously appeared in my notification area. Apart from it showing Sheffield 80 miles away I would just like to get rid of it.

View 4 RepliesI went everywhere that deals with text and there seems to be nowhere to change font color so to speak: one can make it bold, bigger or smaller but not change the color. With the exception of titles and some text here and there, much of my text everywhere (web pages, pdf files, etc,) look more grey then they do black.
View 3 RepliesI'm using Windows 10 Pro. I installed the OS from the ISO file. There is one little bug though.
In the lock screen settings, in "choose an app to show detailed status", the place where I can add the apps for which I want detailed status to be shown like email, calendar, it is not showing. Instead, its showing "none". It means I cannot add an app for whose notifications I want to see in the lock screen.
Also, in "choose apps to show quick status", the only app that is shown is 'People'. No other app is shown.
I went to default apps and chose Windows Media Player as my default for Music, but some playlists still want to open with Groove. Is there a way to disable Groove without it affecting my other apps?

Can change FileExplorer (windows explorer) background from white to Grey color. Currently I am using windows 7 , and I it we can install third party themes. I use this theme [URL] ... But it do not work on windows 8 and 10.
(For 8.1 I used [URL] ... But both also not works on windows 10).
I also tried regedit methods to change values of Colour and Desktop/Colours , but nothing works. We developers have to work continuously on laptop and with white background our eyes hurts. Also I use Pangolin Screen brightness software to dim brightness.
