System Information Program Tool We had this I remember on 7 forums and was wondering if we had it here on 10 forums. Very handy for filling in system specs. If not I guess I'll just have to type.
View 9 RepliesBit of background: Was getting 8024601 errors when attempting to upgrade with the Windows Update method. It would start installing, get to 85% before stopping for a while. Then it would finally reset, only to boot up win 8.1 and Windows update would have the above error code for the attempt.
So I decided to try the Media Creation Tool instead. I select the option to upgrade this PC, it downloads fine, and everything goes okay until it wants to reboot my machine. Tried it twice, first time it sat there waiting to restart. It never did, no programs exited, didn't log off or anything. Second time it gets to the same stage, but locked up my computer instead.
I run uninstall a program and the program disappears from the Uninstall or Change A Program menu but the program is still on the system and operates perfectly.
View 7 RepliesYesterday, I downloaded Windows Update MiniTool. It's a portable program where the 7Zip file contains a 32-bit EXE, a 64-bit EXE and an INI file which is apparently some sort of language file. About an hour after I unpacked it, the 64-bit EXE's icon disappeared. I deleted the folder and the shortcut I created, and when I unpacked it again, I left the 32-bit file alone. Eventually, I downloaded that batch file for rebuilding the icon cache, and I thought that that fixed it, but this morning, I discovered that the fix was only temporary. Apparently, there's some other issue causing the icon cache corruption.I also have IrfanView, which is portable, and I've downloaded several legacy games where I created EXE launchers with Bat To Exe Converter, including icons I made with Greenfish Icon Editor. I've never had any trouble with any of those icons. I extracted the 32-bit file, just to see what happens.
View 4 RepliesTaskbar won't autohide. I discovered a program icon in the system tray, that I can exit, and the taskbar will autohide. I uninstalled the program, but the icon keeps reappearing in the system tray, and the taskbar again won't hide. I ran CCleaner, and PC DeCrapifier, but the program in not listed, so I can't remove it. Upon computer restart, the Icon returns to the system tray, and the taskbar won't hide. The program Icon is not listed in the settings for the notifications.

Also, is there any way to pin the Snipping Tool to my Start Menu in Windows 10? I have an option to pin it to my task bar when I right click on the icon when I have the tool launched but there is no option on the right click menu to select for pin to Start Menu. I am also wondering where it is located in my system because my start menu list doesn't have an "accessories" group in it the way Win 10 or XP had.
I have a program called Cut List that when I click on the icon it will ask me if I want this program to makes changes to my computer. When I say yes a small blue circle appears for a few seconds then goes away but the program never starts. However, if I go to a second Microsoft account the on the same computer the same question comes up and when I click yes the program starts.

I've discovered that nothing happens when I double click it.
I understand vbscript is implemented in Win 10 and the dll is present.
I use Windows 10 and would like to once Explorer.exe allows me to choose the program that I want to open the .iso files.I would like added "Open with" "VLC media player" for the .iso file in addition to programs that are already in the list.

View 5 RepliesI reinstalled windows 10 pro fresh and now i cant install any program of the internet. I tried everything but it doesn't work. It always said that 'cant connect to download center' .
I remembered that i was able to install opera for some reason. That program and steam. Maybe it has something to do with my hard drive cause when I tried to install skype it didn't automatically set to my hard drive.
I downloaded a program (Skype) and I can't find it. I would like to add it to my start menu but I am not sure how to find it to do that.

I have used an old Brodabund family Tree Maker programme in many Windows versions as they have evolved. I successefully started it running in Win 10 but now I cannot open it. I get a message that tells me that variouse .dll files are missing.
View 1 RepliesI just upgraded my 62 bit PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Unfortunately, Windows 10 now blocks todoUS backup "for my protection". It says "not trusted" and "incompatible". I've tried everything to override this, including importing the certificate, changing permissions, moving the program to my user account, etc without any success.
Also, how do I stop Windows 10 from asking me for my hotmail password in order to log on, each time I turn on the computer?

View 2 RepliesI just got an update of windows 10 on my Lumia 535. I found few issues. I hope i'll get some solutions here.
Problem: When i visited into Store -> Downloads and Updates, it shows me list of all the apps which needs to update. But the worst part is that there is no way to view/find out that what is the updates available for a specific application. I tried long press on the list, but no luck.
Any other way to get the updates information.
I'm trying to set up a task using Task Scheduler to run a game which is on one of my secondary drives, drive F: - I have Windows 10 installed on the C: drive.
The problem I'm having is Task Scheduler doesn't seem able to start a program if it's on any drive except C: - I can create a task to run any program or open any file if it's on the C: drive, but nothing runs if it tries to access the F: drive.
As an experiment, I created a simple task to open a jpeg picture - it opened no problem on the C drive, but on the F drive I was prompted to pick an application to open it with (I chose Windows picture viewer) after which the jpeg wouldn't open/load.
What I can do to create a task which will run on my F drive?
I used to use Volumouse, but it's not working too well on Windows 10. Are there any alternatives?
