the app is not unistalling opened powershell as admin and used the code below
Get-AppxPackage *xbox* | Remove-AppxPackage
It's not unistalling
This app is part of Windows and cannot be uninstalled on a per-user basis. An administrator can attempt to remove the app from the computer using Turn Windows Features on or off
I am interested in setting up some company-wide commands to remove a lot of the built-in crap from Windows 10. Employees don't need to be using the Xbox app, and we don't need Get Office, Get Skype etc as we already have those installed using the administrator account before the user logs in.
I was looking at Brink's useful tutorial here, and the option that would pertain to this is "To uninstall all Windows apps for only new added accounts afterwards"
I notice that uses Get-AppXProvisionedPackages instead of just Get-AppxPackage.
The thing is, I don't want to remove *all* the apps, some of them are actually useful, such as the photo gallery and calculator. I'd rather specify them manually...
I did some tinkering around with Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage, but cannot get it to work. I get errors ....
Can PowerShell commands be deployed over Group Policy? I know you can do cmd ones, and we already have a cmd file that's executed when the user logs on for the first time. If not, I can just make a note to do it using the admin account before joining the domain.
I have 2 accounts on my machine. On my primary account, the Xbox app would not launch - no error given, just click and nothing happens. So I logged into Windows with my second account and the Xbox app launches with no problem. However, the Groove app won't launch under the second account, whereas it will under my primary account. I have tried the Powershell command to remove and reinstall the app and that has been 100% unsuccessful.
It appears to do nothing more than remove it from the start menu as it still says "installed" if I search for it in the Store. If I reboot, then the Store will allow me to reinstall. The same issue persists in not launching and providing no errors.
I am completely baffled as to why some apps work under one account and not the other - both accounts are admins. Is there something else I can do? I had originally upgraded from Windows 7, but after getting all kinds of BSOD errors, I did a complete wipe and fresh install. I've had these default app not launching errors - or lack of errors as none are shown - since then.
I have seen lots of people saying their Store won't launch or the Start menu doesn't work, but I have had no issues with that...
Last few days have been very exciting, we have seen quite a few apps coming as Universal Windows 10 Apps but don't see why they r not making for Xbox One?
Since upgrading to Windows 10 I have lost something I used frequently, the ability to stream movies & pictures to my Xbox 360. Apparently Windows Media Center isn't supported on Win10. Looking for 3rd party apps. I downloaded and installed Plex on PC and Xbox but apparently their is a charge to stream from my pc using Plex.
While cleaning up my fresh install of windows 10 I deleted the xbox app (unistalled), it is available to my admin account but I would also now like it on my user account.
how I can re-install it on my user account, it is already on my computer because the admin account can access it, or will I need to download the app again? ifs so where from ?
I enjoy talking to friends through Xbox Live, but I recently sold my Xbox One for financial reasons. I have been using the Xbox App to communicate with them using Party Chat. It's fun to sometimes play soft music through the microphone just to have in the background that's routed through my computer, but there are a few issues with doing so.
Since there are no audio settings built into the Xbox App, I've had to MacGyver a solution in a way. There is an application called Voicemeeter Banana that allows you to route certain device audio into other devices, and is compatible with their VB Audio Cables, the freeware alternative to VAC. Through this I have my headphones set as my Default Communication Device and my primary cable as my Default Device. One of my two secondary cables are set as the Default and Default Communications Device for recording. In Voicemeeter I have my microphone routed to the secondary cable's input. My primary cable's output is routed to my headphones and my secondary cable's input as well.
Here's some screenshots of the setup for better clarity:
The problem here doesn't lie in Voicemeter, though. It lies in the Xbox App, as these settings work fine with Skype or just browsing and listening to videos/music. For some reason, ever since the newest update for Windows 10, when I use these audio settings the Xbox App party system does not detect any audio coming from my recording device or any of my friends' microphones. I believe it might have something to do with Exclusive Mode settings, but nothing I've tried so far has worked. So far, I've reinstalled the drivers on at least 7 different occasions, I've messed with the Audio Formats extensively, I've tried switching up the cables testing for bad drivers, and I've reinstalled the OS from scratch countless times (to 8.1 then upgrading, not straight to Windows 10).
Is there any way I can get this set up to work, or am I just asking for more than is currently possible?
After updating to build 10041, it broke my xbox music, video and also the Netflix app. I was able to uninstall and reinstall the Netflix app which made it work again, however since xbox apps are part of the core, I can't just uninstall. Any way to delete them?
I was able to get into the windows app folder in the program files directory but still couldn't edit my permissions to allow me to delete it.
It was unable to boot and i got caught in a "Automatic Repair Restart Loop" ...
I went to the Advanced options in recovery options but unable to access any form of safe mode. Also for some reason none of my restore point/images appear. Tried to Reset the PC but keep my files but that process stops at 1% due to some unknown problem.
The only thing I'm able to access is Cmd Prompt.
I'm unable to access or run the Avast clean install utility from the recovery menu since I can only guess the remnants of Avast is interfering with booting to windows 10.
Im reluctant to do a factory restore since I have quite a few important files that I haven't backed up.
getting my Dell PC function in again after uninstalling Windows 10. Was using Windows 7. I can't use F8. All I get is flashing cursor. When I manage to get to safe mode, nothing happens. It goes right back to blank black screen.
I for one have had no trouble with windows 10. One thing I did do before I upgraded was ran antimalware, updated my driver, cleaned out all the rubbish shortcuts that did not work.
Then ran all updates then upgraded. All I had to do was update one driver, then let windows 10 put in the updates it wanted. Then uninstalled IE11 and only using Edge,.
As you can see it is no where in the file system, If just disabled it would show up.
If I go to "Downloads" and delete files, is it the same as uninstalling recent files, or should I use a CCCleaner? Basically, I made the mistake of attempting to download Phantasy Star Online. After trying to download other files to fix multiple error codes, I have decided to remove all of it. I haven't had a PC in a long time, and I am running Windows 10 which may play into my confusion.
I am trying to remove the drivers from a device that I am uninstalling but the "Delete the driver software for this device" box to check off is missing. When I go to reinstall the device windows automatically reinstalls the old drivers that do not work. How I can get rid of the old drivers so windows does not automatically reinstall them?
For 2 weeks I've been trying to upgrade my Asus G50VT laptop from Windows 7 home to WIndows 10 home. I have tried over 5 times using Windows Update and several times using the Microsoft USB/DVD installer. Everything downloads fine; and gets to the black screen with the "installing drivers" with a percentage going around in a circle. It gets stuck at 32% every time. I have to force shutdown the laptop and it rolls back to Windows 7...
There are no new BIOS updates available from Asus (laptop was released in 2009) the latest BIOS is already installed and from 2012. I don't see anything for windows 10 on the Asus Website.I have all external usb devices removed. I have tried shutting off my WiFi adapter and disabling / uninstalling Norton Security/Anti-Virus.I have sucessfully upgraded 2 other machines from windows 8.1 to 10 with no problem.
How do you stream a video from your win 10 pc to the xbox one? In windows 8 you could play to and then select the xbox. Is there anyway to do that in Windows 10? like play to feature in win 8
With Windows 8, I had a bunch of different apps for videos (movies, tv, etc). I would start a video, swipe from the right, select 'device', select my Xbox One, and it would stream to the Xbox. Now I am not seeing any way to do this.
I know they got rid of Media Center but I didn't think or realize that was the same app. If that's the case, is there no way to stream media from a Windows 10 PC to an Xbox One?
I recently upgraded to windows 10, and I wanted to stream my xbox one to my windows 10 PC, I plugged in my controller, installed the drivers and everything, but when I go find the option to connect my xbox, it looks like this, there is no option on the side to connect it, URL...
I'm getting an Xbox One for Christmas. If I have the Xbox hooked up to a TV, can I still connect it to my laptop, which is across the house? If so, can my brother play the Xbox on TV while I play it on my laptop? Two games at once?!
PS: This will all happen after Windows 10 comes out.
So I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10, and am trying to get the Xbox app working.
When I open it up, I am greeted with a message that says: "There's a problem with your account. To fix it, go to Xbox.com and sign in". I have a valid Microsoft account, that works fine for everything else. None the less, I go to Xbox.com in Firefox, click Sign In, and am greeted by a error screen. I find this odd, because I'm not even logged in yet (I've even wiped my cookies to be sure). It would appear that something on my system is blocking the Xbox login site system wide, hence why It wont work in the app or in a browser.
Screenshots of the errors are attached and shown bellow. I cant figure out what could be blocking it.
I'd heard a few days ago that xbox one titles would be playable on a pc running win 10..is it true? What do I have to download / install / buy to play xbox titles on my win 10 pc?
PC config - 8gb 1600mhz,i5 4440 and gtx 750 2gb oc edition
I had a question about windows 10 and the Xbox one. I heard you could steam Xbox one game's from the X1 to the PC. I was wondering could you steam Xbox one games from the PC ( using PC hardware ) and steam it to the X1 ??
I bought an XBOX One controller with cable for Windows from Amazon. When I plugged it in, I hear the new device recognition tone but nothing else. Supposedly, the correct driver is part of Windows 10 and nothing else was needed. But it has never vibrated with any game. I've tried updating the driver, even tried it on another pc with Windows 10 and no luck.
Where I can find the streaming function for the video or music app for the new windows 10 apps? With windows 8.1 there was the possibility in the charms bar....
