View 8 RepliesFor some reason, the File, View, etc... menus are invisible in Corel Draw X5. If I mouse over them I can see the text.
View 11 RepliesI'm planning to download gears of war on my windows 10 and with my current network connection, it will take a lot of time to download it. so I wanted to know if the store downloads are resumable after shutting the PC down.
View 3 RepliesSince the updated Windows 10 invariably needs a restart after the power-on startup, is there a way to postpone certain apps like my backup programs, until after that restart?
View 9 RepliesI was having some issues with my previous build (Insider), and hard disk crashing, I went and did a full wipe and a clean install.
Unfortunately, some of my programs refuse to add to startup even when the "Start with Windows" option is checked. I've tried completely removing the programs and re-installing and they simply will not start with Windows like they should.
Aside from manually overriding the situation, (which is a workaround, and not a fix), how to resolve this?
I seem to have lost the ability to add an application to my startup function. I'm refering to the auto-load of an application upon bootup.
View 1 RepliesI think this started with the new November build, but Skype seems to be auto-starting, even though I have not installed it.the process is called Microsoft Skype.
how can I disable this process, so it won't start up every time I boot?
any other unneeded windows processes that are recommended to disable?
When I boot up, reboot, Windows Notepad opens automatically with an error box "! Access Denied" - when I ok that it leaves a Notepad blank screen open. I close that and boot up is complete and I can work normally.
Cannot see anything in startup.
I wrote a program that runs on windows 10 just fine from a shortcut on the desktop. I copied the shortcut to the startup folder for my account and did all the compatibility changes so it would run. It worked fine after a few test startups but now all the sudden it no longer works.
Not sure if MS installed any updates between it working and not working, all I know is it ain't working now. It shows up in task manager but really isn't running.
Since I've upgraded to Windows 10, iTunes keeps loading on startup. I looked in the task manager under Startup, and disabled iTunesHelper. I don't see any other apps listed under Startup that are associated with iTunes or any other apple software.
Am I missing something? It's a little annoying having iTunes loading on startup.
I'm trying to get a program to autolaunch when I start the computer.
Previously, I used Task Scheduler, but it does not seem to work. I suspect UAC is making this hard for me. I have it set to default.
How can I make a random program run at startup without issues?
One of the casualties of my upgrade to Win 10 Home was my iTunes library. Basically, iTunes could no longer find my music, even though it hadn't moved. To cut a long story short, I ended up creating a new library and all was well - or so I thought. Since then, however, every time I boot my PC, iTunes loads at startup, and the curious thing is that there is no reference to the programme in any of the startup folders, nor in Task Managers Start Up list. I also use CCleaner, and that also shows that nothing apple related should be running at startup.
Clearly something is causing iTunes to run? I should add, there are no iPods connected to the PC, and iTunes helper is also disabled via CCleaner.
Office (2016) worked fine until I upgraded windows 10 to TH2 then stopped working and now crashes on startup. I have tried the quick repair and the online repair and even clean installing the program finding out that it still crashes.
View 2 RepliesSince there is no START folder, how do you set up an exe file to run whenever windows 10 starts?
View 3 RepliesSomehow I managed to have Firefox start at system login and now I don't want it to do so.I've checked Task Manager and it isn't there.I've checked usersappDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStartMenuProgramsStartup and it isn't there.
View 1 RepliesA script error message started opening about a week after I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10.
Here is the info in in the message. I guess it's about what broke in the script. [URL] ....
It asks whether I want to keep running the script. Yes No. Since the message just told me the script was broken, I press No. The startup completes. I can't see that there are issues with how the computer operates.
till yesterday everything was ok but today suddenly when I start windows File explorer open automatically without any command, I did restart system thrice but same was happening.
How do I remove this auto open of file explorer when I start windows.
I need Windows 10 to boot directly to a program. Whatever I try .vbs, .bat or just shortcut in Startup folder, it always starts minimized to task bar. When I click on the task bar it gets blown up full screen.
Once I turn off the Tablet mode it starts good, maximized.
How can I solve this so it boot in Tablet mode AND start the program in proper size?
NOTE: I use touch screen but I dont think it maters.
I'm trying to run programs upon boot in W10 but it doesn't work.I have put them in Start folder and if I go to Task manager I can see the programs are there as well in Startup tab and enabled...but they will not start. I have to manually launch them anyway.I found out a thread where someone was able to get a fix in the same situation by going to taskbar and menu properties and selecting 'use the Start menu instead of start screen' but my menu has no such tab.
How to try to get them programs to launch upon boot. The machine was just freshly clean installed with W10 and it has but a couple of programs on it - exactly the programs I'd like to auto-start. Done all windows updates as well. Another machine of mine developed a weird glitch in that the start menu doesn't suddenly work at all.It just raises a red box in the middle of screen saying something like 'oops your start menu doesn't seem to work but don't worry, we'll fix it up for the next boot' and then it promptly reboots, but whatever I try it doesn't get fixed.
I have updated the machine several times without issues and it works fine, just can't use the start at all or it reboots...been using it for a month now as it is now, got the big updates and all...but it doesn't get fixed. Start menu would sometimes be rather convenient in a machine, no?
The latter machine I might just re-install clean anew. I have 7 windows boxes all now W10 and it appears every one needs to be freshly clean installed to W10 before they really start working well.
I have three entries (among others) that are slated to startup when I logon. Each of them are featured twice in the start up tab of program manager.
On checking with autoruns I found that they occurred twice in the registry under
HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun
and
HKLMSOFTWAREWow6432NodeMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun 14-12-2015 02:23
Is this normal?
My laptop is running windows 10 64 bit.
From time to time when powering down my Laptop (Dell Inspiron 17) , the two blue lights in front remain on & I need to take out the battery
I would like to know what is possibly causing this and how I can get it corrected
I've found that when I start up my computer, after a random amount of time (but always when I'm away from my computer), my computer will do two things. First, the sound will shut off. No sound will play from any sources. Second, if I try to play a video, it will play very slowly and with a lot of stuttering.
View 3 RepliesSince updating to windows ten my computer keeps shutting down?
View 7 RepliesJust loaded Windows 10 yesterday on my HP AIO. Instead of going to sleep it shuts down every time there is a lack of activity.
View 19 RepliesMy computer does this every time it turns off. And I've been having issues with games not running and I have a suspicion it's related.
View 1 RepliesI have a Sabertooth 990FX motherboard. This isn't the first time I've installed Windows 10 on this computer (I was having issues with a corrupted operating system before, so I've reinstalled Windows several times). Basically, I managed to get Windows 10 to install successfully with no corruption issues. I went into the BIOS to check some sleep settings since a new problem is that my computer won't sleep since Windows 10 was installed, and while I was in there, I enabled a USB 3.0 fast charging feature and since then, every other time that I boot the computer, it shuts off a few seconds after the Windows logo displays, but before the loading circle even shows up.
Then I turn the computer back on again manually and it boots. But after I shut it down and the next time I try to boot it, it will do the same thing and shut off and then I will have to turn it on again manually and it will work. I went back and changed the settings back to their defaults, even flashed the BIOS to the latest version and the problem hasn't resolved. Is it possible the motherboard is now dead because I changed a simple setting? I get no error messages, no warnings, nothing when the computer boots successfully.
