View 1 RepliesMy sound won't work after I installed windows 10. I'm using Conexant SmartAudio HD by the way. I tried using youtube for a solution but everything was for older builds.
View 4 RepliesI have been trying to install a few Apps from the Store. I installed an App, clicked on it in the menu, and for one second it flashes and the menu disappears. I have checked my account and that's good, checked settings and they look good, but the installed App won't access.
View 8 RepliesI just purchased this computer from Lenovo (URL...) and have finally had some time to start transitioning my old computer's files over to this new one. As I've started re-installing some software programs such as iObit Uninstaller, I've noticed that several of these apps are showing up SUPER small and are barely legible.
Now, I've tried the ctrl+/- shortcut along with a few other "tricks," but this seems to be an actual problem. I've also uninstalled and re-installed the software just to make sure there wasn't some weird bug, but to not avail.
I had Windows 10 on my previous computer and never experienced such an error. The app iObit Uninstaller, for example, is appearing so small on the screen that I can barely read anything, let alone use the program.
After doing a clean install of windows 10, I am unable to install ms office pro plus. The error is osppsvc make sure you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
View 9 RepliesI am having trouble with the modern apps and connectivity. It feels like half my computer will connect to the internet, and the other half won't. Desktop apps like Chrome, Steam, Outlook, iTunes etc. all connect to the internet fine, but any of the Windows apps like Xbox, Store and (most frustratingly) Settings will not connect.
In my network and sharing centre in the control panel it says 'You are not connected to any networks' - but in the system tray, and in the settings app it shows me as connected to my home wi-fi. I am on a desktop, and using a USB wireless adapter. I don't think the adapter is the problem as I have tried it on another desktop in our house on Windows 10 and it worked fine. Curiously also, when I click 'Adapter settings' in the control panel, it shows the wifi connection.
I've tried updating the drivers for the wireless adapter, both through the Windows update and adapter website but to no avail (and as I mentioned, it seems the adapter works fine elsewhere). I've updated manually to the latest Windows 10 Pro build, i've done a DNS flush, I've tried disabling firewalls and anti-virus, I've tried disabling startup apps, I've done a clean install of Windows 10 and still am unable to fix the issue.
Recently i installed Mac OS X skinpack from [URL] .... this website. The work fine until restart my system. When i restart my system, the windows 10 become stretched. So i try to uninstall the skinpack. After uninstall, i restart my system again. But my windows 10 not started. Windows 10 loading show. But logon screen not open. The screen always blinking. No function working. I had important files on the disk.
View 2 RepliesI have upgraded my W7 64-bit to W10-64bit some time ago and been testing W10 since then.
I had some random crashes and BSODs which I could not find the reason why as my W7 was running pristine.
Last week I had a crash for Visual Basic C++ Runtime Error and the file that crashed was my Chrome. Looking on Task Manager I then realised that not only my Chrome but all my other software installed are running on 32-bit versions.
I have then manually uninstalled chrome and downloaded the 64-bit version manually and installed and now it shows normal (no more 32-bit in between brackets) and I no longer get the pop up crash.
I wonder why is W10 installing 32-bit software by default if my OS is 64-bit? Will I have to manually uninstall every single software and force a manual installation of 64-bit?
I have the following problem, that the contacts app re-download and re-installs itself over and over again in the store. I have already tried:
PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + 'AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"
When I open my metro apps on windows 10, app like Groove, mail, store, most apps don't start. Can't use most of my metro-apps again after installing updates.
View 1 RepliesI've looked at your forums and instructions on clearing the cache, etc...but still have no luck in downloading applications. They go into a queue and are listed as "starting download" but don't go further. I've rebooted and cleared the cache which will clear the queue but when I try again the same thing happens.
View 2 Repliestried updating skype but getting error code 1618.
tried updating AVG anti virus but update failed: update detect running installation. Complete that installation before starting update not installing or updating anything at the moment.
I am on windows 10 build number 10130(Installed it through an ISO file). I am unable to install any app from either store or store beta. The exact error message is "Something happened and this app couldn't be installed. Please try again. Error code: 0x8007000b". I tried reinstalling the OS, Formatting the sd card and replacing the sd card but the problem persists.
The default location for app install is set to sd card and when I change it back to my pc the apps do install. What is error code 0x8007000b. And how do I get the apps to install on my sd card. Note: I don't want to install the apps to my device memory as I have only 10GB left.
I joined the insider program last year and basically upgraded to all builds from the very first public build. Before then, I was using Windows 8.1 PRO on my Asus Vivobook which was legit (pro license through my school's DreamSpark program).
I was on buil 10240 and decided to download the media creator tool for Windows 10 and chose the first option which was Upgrade my PC.
I chose to keep nothing. It installed, I logged in Windows is not activated. I try installing / updating apps from the store and it won't work. Each time, I get an email from Microsoft saying Device limit reached for installing apps & games. I removed 2 devices.
Now I have 2 devices running Windows 10, the Lumia 822 on insider preview, and Windows 10 Laptop and still have the same issue.
So my problems now are:
1. Not activated and
2. Can't install apps.
so I UPGRADED MY PC TO WINDOWS 10, AND I IMMEDIATELY GET THIS MESSAGE.
It looks like you've reached your device limit for installing apps and games from the Store on your Windows 10 device. If you want to install apps and games from the Store on another Windows 10 device, remove a device from the device list.
I have 1 device using Windows 10, and 1 computer at work running the insider preview, that's it.
So is this a sneaky [adjective removed ]you catch from Microsoft, I cannot have Windows 10 installed on more than 1 device ?
Before 1 hour i updated to the last build but some problems appeared. I cant open Market when i click it shows the logo and then it close also when i try to play an mp3 it pops an error box saying "the remote procedure call failed" i cant open videos as well and also photos tab from start doesnt work too . I had a clean installation of the latest Official ISO from MS.
For example when I try open a pic I get this ....
I have an HP Stream 7 that only has 32 GB of space. I put in an SD card and changed the default location in "Storage" to install all new apps to the SD card. Whenever I try to install an app now, I get an error and will not install. When I changed it back to install on C, it downloads and works fine. Is there any work arounds? I saw that someone mentioned they installed the apps to C, and then moved them to the SD card.
View 1 RepliesI have updated my laptop to windows 10 and since then the app wont work, I have also tried loading it on the internet and chrome but it still doesn't work. Every time I go on it works but when I press what I want to watch it loads and then comes up with the message "There is a problem with this system's configuration that prevents Windows from playing protected video. Please make sue you have the latest Windows Updates {which I think I do but don't know how to check} as well as Windows 8 certified video and audio drivers installed".

View 9 RepliesSkype does not work in Windows10, not possible to reinstall. First I could not close Skype.
Today I could not open. Restart the OS, no start. I tried to install Skype again. Does not work. After an hour it is still updating.
Chrome destroyed by windows 10
Edge sux:
- slow
- cannot work with Discuss properly
- browser URL space is not intuitive. OMG Double work to find your banks, everything. Terrible. Please pay for google, buy something
- not efficient in monitor use: unnecessary thick headings, unmanageably (by touch pad) thin rolling column.
Bing is less useful then google:
- Cannot translate,
- no scholar.
Since the last update my links in my Windows Live email and several other programs won't connect anymore.

View 4 RepliesI was used to run a script "at 20:30 shutdown -s" in Run.exe to shutdown my laptop at specific time in Windows 7, but in W10, it does not work.
I tried to run this script in cmd.exe as administrator, but it does not work eather, because in W10 is not possible to give AT order.
