I'm using a validated copy of Windows 10 and I was using uTorrent today and suddenly I got a message that it ran out of memory. I've used uTorrent with Windows 10 quite a few times with no problem whatsoever. I tried deleting the torrent and then I tried another one. It was a little large at 3.5gb, so I tried another file around that same range, and it did the same thing. I've tried rebooting, I've tried changing the virtual memory and I get the same thing.
When you open up Task Manager, it shows the memory slowly shoot up to about 1.5GB and it just stops responding and then shuts down. I have 16GB of RAM, but I don't understand why all of sudden, it started shutting down.
As of right now, it seems to be OK, but I d/led uTorrent Portable and I still don't know if it's going to work, because before that I tried d/ling Bittorrent and it did the same thing. Bittorrent looks exactly like uTorrent, I think uTorrent owns Bittorrent or vice versa.
I've got 8GB RAM and while I was playing XCOM 2 with no other apps running (except for what's running near the clock, AV, Firewall, Steam, etc) and awhile playing windows gave me an error stating that Windows is Low on Memory and it shut down XCOM 2.
After installing Windows 10 a while back I began seeing a "Your computer is low on memory" error... this error only appears after the computer goes to sleep and is woken up, and never happened on Windows 7 or 8.1. Nothing has changed except for the os
The os is on 250gb ssd with 164gb of free space. I have a second ssd that I install software to (Autodesk, Adobe, etc) and it has over 150 gb of free space. There is a 1tb hd for general storage which has over 500gb of free space
When the "Your computer is low on memory" error occurs windows says it needs to shut down programs to save memory, this causes any program that's open to stop responding and crash. Also, when this happens one of my monitors typically freezes up (usually monitor 2) and the default playback device for my sounds (monitor 3) gets changed and I can't hear any audio until I restart the computer.
After a restart everything seems fine. None of this happened until I installed windows 10...
I'm trying to download the debug tool. My boss's computer started developing blue screens. He also notices that the service host keeps increasing in memory and then gets the low memory error before it crashes. I had this actually happen to my machine but I thought it was related to iTunes. I had to re-format my laptop in order to fix it.
I tried to upload the mini-dump file but was getting invalid file. I have uploaded it to wikisend....
Recently I updated my Dell Latitude E6320 to Windows 10. Now when I start using uTorrent i get BSODs (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA), and due to my lack of knowledge can't figure out where it comes from. I read a few posts, updated my WLAN drivers (had some different issues with that also), set the computer to make dmp files, but I lack the knowledge to read them, and see the cause of the problem. I saw there might be hardware problems, driver problems, memory caching problems, and so on, and all of them go beyond my knowledge. Down here I attached my dmp file.
I installed windows 10 upgrading from Win 8.1 Pro. and some built in apps will not run. The apps won't run are:
Mail Calendar Calculator People Photos
The icons for these are greyed out. When I click on them, I see a window open and instantly close. I can sometimes get a message that says "application cannot load because it is still updating"
I have MS Office 2013 installed and Outlook works.
How can I fix this? I cannot find how to complete the "still updating".
I'm running a 64 bit Windows 10 laptop. On idle, the System process is showing a high memory usage of more than 150 MB, usually more than 200 MB. Using poolmon the pooltag SpDN showed up with a memory leak. It leads to the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver, iaStorV.sys. How should I go about fixing the problem?
I have an HP DV4 Laptop(i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) that came with Windows 7, I recently updated to Win10. Everything seems fine except of the high CPU usage in System and Compressed memory. I narrowed it down to the Realtek Memory Card reader. I should also mention that right after the Win10 update two Realtek Memory Card Reader entries were in Device Manager with yellow exclamation icons.
I deleted them and had Windows install the drivers from Windows updates, after that everything LOOKS fine. And there's only one entry now. After a while I noticed the fan making a lot of noise, wasn't like that in Win7.Anyway, after hours of troubleshooting I eventually came back to the Realtek reader, sure enough after disabling it CPU went to normal.I have also downloaded the newest driver from realtek site.
None of my windows apps is running if i run xbox or groove music or something it says it has been blocked by the administrator. please contact your admin for more info. How is it possible i am the only admin!!! also in start menu where we click on our name to sign our do something else, there it shows another account named as Administrator. I never created that account!!
I wrote a program that runs on windows 10 just fine from a shortcut on the desktop. I copied the shortcut to the startup folder for my account and did all the compatibility changes so it would run. It worked fine after a few test startups but now all the sudden it no longer works.
Not sure if MS installed any updates between it working and not working, all I know is it ain't working now. It shows up in task manager but really isn't running.
I just upgraded my 62 bit PC from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Unfortunately, Windows 10 now blocks todoUS backup "for my protection". It says "not trusted" and "incompatible". I've tried everything to override this, including importing the certificate, changing permissions, moving the program to my user account, etc without any success.
Also, how do I stop Windows 10 from asking me for my hotmail password in order to log on, each time I turn on the computer?
I have an old XP program, xReminder Pro, that I have been using for many years. I am currently running it in Compatibility Mode on Windows 7 and it runs fine. On my Windows 10 test machine, this program will install and run from a "manual" start in Compatibility Mode (Windows XP SP3); but will not auto-start with Windows. I have tried the normal start with the program preferences, adding it to the Startup, and running a bat file right after boot up. None of these work. I have set the program to "Run as Administrator".
In the past I have had to go around to each computer and set the default programs. Is there a way to create a batch file to set default programs silently for each user that signs on? Like we would like to have Adobe Reader DC, Internet Explorer, and VLC player be the default programs.
I upgraded to Windows 10 about a month ago, aside from the learning a new system issues I haven't had many problems. I first noticed issues with accessing my secondary drive (URL...), then the programs started hanging up. Within the last week or so my computer's memory usage has been been at 98% and up. So much so that just switching from one program to another takes several seconds and opening a new program almost shuts down my computer.
i have recently installed win10 and after a few days i have noticed that it uses all my memory(8gb) in the following scenario:
i let the computer overnight watching a stream and an online radio station.the next morning i have noticed that the computer was a little bit laggy, ind i opened task manager where it showed 97% memory usage. The funny fact is if i added up alll the provcesses memory usage und it was about 1.2 gb ram
PC specs:
i7 - 4770k proc gtx 970 video 8 gb hyperX red memory
I have windows 10 64 bit, edition Windows 10 Pro, Version 1511, OS Build 10586.104
Processor : i5-4690k Ram (installed) : 16gb Video card : gtx 970 with 4gb vram.
Computer is slow at times lately. Memory Usage in task manager is constantly high when this occurs. Not many Operations are open and running. I am having fps drops while gaming as well that is annoying. Attached image of processes and percent of usage across cpu, memory, disk, and network currently ...
9:45 pm - Just tried to shutdown windows via task bar and windows cycle through shutting down, blink black scree, pc stayed on, windows popped back up. Hard shutup via pc case i/o button and windows still tried to cycle through shuttind down, blinking black screen, pc on still, and windows flicked back on and then shutoff completely.
Just bought an HP stream, it doesn't have enough memory for me to upgrade to windows 10.
I ordered a micro sd card online, should be here in two days. My two questions are:
Can you install windows 10 on a micro sd card? And if you can, how would I uninstall windows 8.1, and install the windows 10 onto the laptops hard drive?
Update: I know this sounds stupid but, I downloaded classic shell. I HATE windows 8 and thought the only solution was to upgrade to windows 10, but the shell seems to suffice. Thread closed.
I have an old VAIO Laptop-VPCEC4S0E, and I really wanna boost it. So it came with window 7 and I updated to window 10 on my hdd. Now the things I wanna do are as follows. The laptop is very slow, and there is nothing at all on it that i need. I need to destroy whatever is on it, and get it back to factory settings. Will that return it to window 7? I dnt know. On the other hand, I want to remove my hdd and replace it with an ssd.
Plus i wanna remove my old memories and put newer ones (6gb into 8gb).Should I start with restoring to factory settings (again not sure if it will be back to win7), then install window 10 on hdd, then clone it to the ssd, then swap the hdd with the ssd? is that the right order of doing these things. And I will fit the memory change with the hdd-ssd swap.In I wanna make my old laptop like a new purchased laptop with an SSD, new memory and a Window 10 on it.
Okay, Well windows 10 is giving me crap. I have two memory slots, 1 is being used. It tells me that i'm using, like 2.0 GB out of 1.6GB. What? I disabled page-file for much faster speed, and it worked. But i'm not even using 1GB in memory, even when i plus all the memory used together.
Btw i cannot turn page file back on, lags WAY to much. And this is a new hard drive.
I have a gaming computer and I can't even play games on it now. I updated to the most recent build of Windows 10, and started getting this issue. You can see my specs on my profile.
My computer reads that I have 6.00 GB RAM but only 3.37 GB is usable. I've seen that using x32 versions can cause this but I have yet to figure out why my x64 version is doing this.
