How can I update my time automatically each morning before the stock market opens. My PC loses a couple minutes a day and I need to be synced with the market. I see it updates weekly, but by Tues I'm out of step.
Just downloaded windows 10 and it freezes or reboots every time I try and login in for the first time, if u click on anything else on this screen like this isn't me it freezes as well, any work around this to maybe login or revert back to windows 7 without being able to log on?
Win 10 (or Edge) is automatically logging me in to my Outlook/Hotmail account when I boot the PC. I do NOT want to be auto-logged in… how can I change this behavior.
I use "netplwiz" to set auto login feature. But i found that if i use local account, it works well, but if i use Microsoft account to log in windows 10, it will still ask me for passwords when waking up from sleeping mode or power on.
How can you change the time when Widows Defender auto scans your PC? When I had 8.1 it ran about 2AM. That was OK. Now in 10 it runs about 4 or 5PM. That is when I use my PC most. I looked in Task Scheduler, but I can't find it.
Alright so for some reason ever since I've "upgraded" to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 I've been having numerous issues with my computer taking a very long time to boot and I've noticed it is logging me in sometimes without asking me for my password at boot. I really want to stop the black screens as waiting 5-10 minutes every time I turn my computer on is annoying. Also I don't see why it would log me in without prompting for my password as why else would I have a logon password?
How do I bypass the whole tedious log in every time I start the pc. I am trying to solve other problems and need to close down multiple times to ascertain the cause...
Every time I log into Windows 10 I get a USB connected sound only after upgrading my ssd to a bigger ssd and putting fresh copy of Windows 10... even when I unplug everything ....
What is the little icon next to the time on my login screen for? Looks like a horse / chess knight. Searched for other screenshots and it's there too so it's obviously meant to be there!
I have an asus laptop. When I go into settings touchpad is disabled so i enable it, however every time I start my computer I have to enable it again .i have reverted back to 8.1.
Did windows defender perform auto update and auto scan daily? Since i noticed it is quite often that the definition is outdated and i need to updated it manually.
I am having a scary situation with my wife's notebook (which keeps our family photos) after installing Windows 10.
Her notebook is an ASUS G53JQ-A1 and the installation went through fine, except for the graphics card. The logos on screen were enormous and the resolution could not be improved through the menus.
On the Device Manager, the GPU was not even listed. The notebook was running the on-board GPU, which explains the bad resolution. Anyways, I, then, proceeded to the NVIDIA website and downloaded the latest driver, already compatible with Windows 10: [URL] ....
After the installation was complete, I had a black screen after the short boot and Asus logo. No mouse cursor.
Since nothing happened, after 15 minutes I force-restarted the notebook, only to have it go to the same black screen again. This went on for 30 mins, so I tried to hit F8 with no results.
Then the Auto Repair kicked in, but none of the options (short of REMOVE EVERYTHING) have worked so far. I will list everithing I have tried so far:
1. Reset this PC --> Keep my files 2. Advanced Options --> System Restore 3. Advanced Options --> System Image Recovery 4. Advanced Options --> Startup Repair 5. Advanced Options --> Startup Settings (just goes back to the Auto Repair main menu after a boot) 6. Advanced Options --> Go Back to Previous Build
The command prompt does open fine, but I have no clue as to what should I do there.
My questions are:
1. How do I get out of this situation without formatting the PC? 2. Is it possible that there was a conflict between the GPU driver (and all the auto-update and performance software that come along with the driver)?
I'm running Win10 Home on an i5 5th gen laptop. I'm trying to download the big new Win10 update but I live in India and my internet is unreliable. Does the Win10 download auto-resume? I can't tell. Does the download pick up from where it left off if the internet fails? So far I can't tell one way or the other.
I upgraded to Windows 10 about a month ago. Two days ago my computer is all the sudden automatically downloading some. Massive update that took a long time and rebooted my computer without prompting me.
After the download was complete I was able to use my computer seemingly as normal, but upon the next restart, the start menu wouldn't open, and the mouse wouldn't click on any of the icons. I tried a restart and got two pop up error messages saying something like "Windows failed to start properly." I tried a hard reboot a coupe times, same thing.
Google searched the problem, found this and followed the steps: How to fix Windows 10 start-up problems - Blackscreen, Bootloop, Infinite Loading [HD 60FPS] - YouTube
No luck. Now every time I boot up my computer it goes to the "automatic repair screen."
I have tried every option available from the "automatic repair screen" menu, including System Restore: because I just downloaded Windows 10, I had no restore points. System Image Recovery: it says have no image to recover). Start Up Repai: tells me Windows can't repair the problem. Command Prompt: I've been able to get in there but I don't really know what to do once there (tried what was suggested in the video above, no luck, everything was already set to zero) Startup Settings:WAS working, I was able to start up in Safemode once, still couldn't click anything and start menu still wouldn't work. Now when I click on Startup Settings and click the restart button to get to the Startup options it just brings me back to the "automatic repair screen" ...I think I've rebooted so many times at this point that my computer can't reboot without taking me there.
I've even tried the "reset this PC" option multiple times and every time it starts to reset, gets to 1% or 2% and then I get an error message saying something went wrong and the PC can't be reset.
I have just updated Windows 10 to Version 1501. I had to install Windows 10 from the Microsoft Update site, as the auto Update stalled 3 times at 91% .
Since then, when I open Mail from the Start Screen, although it opens OK , and there is a white horizontal line on the task bar, the Mail Icon is not there.
If I hold the cursor over the area where the icon should be, the small display comes up and I can click and open it from there OK, just the icon is missing.
I have a Windows 7 computer that's a few years old and I got the Windows 10 notification that I can install it so I did, now seems like every time Windows 10 gets a update it freezes my PC.. any recommendations how I can fix this easily?
I tried updating to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Pro Sp1.
Update went through fine but as soon as I get to the login screen and hit enter I get a BSOD with Bad Pool Header. I couldn't boot into safe mode, do the "reset my PC" option or system restore. The system restore says image corrupt.
Only thing I could do is go back to previous build, which worked.
So now I was going to try to manually install, but getting the Windows 10 iso through the media creation tool. I load it up and it just loads and says "something Happened" 0x8007002- 0x20016. I also wanted to get my product key to have on hand for when I do get it to work. So I load up Produkey, and it says my Product Key not found.
There is a script that is on the MS scripting site that will query and convert the key from hex to decimal. I run that and it reports back just "B". All B's.
So im assuming my key got screwed up during the install. Not sure what else i can do if I don't have a key to install Windows 10 when I get an ISO from another computer.
I used the free download Windows 10 Update to go from Windows 8.1. Install went find and it comes to the login screen that says "Welcome Back". I click on the next button and a small blue circle comes up and spins but nothing happens beyond that. I unplugged external drives, cards, flash drives etc and tried a hard reboot but it still stops at the same spot. What can I do from here?
