Automatic Shutdown While Watching / Streaming Videos Online
Aug 30, 2015
Two weeks ago, I upgraded to Windows 10 64-bit from my previous Windows 7 operating system. However, since then, whenever I watch or stream videos online, be it youtube, Netflix or other internet sites, my laptop would just automatically shuts down. But when I turn it on again, It starts up alright without any problems except that it will show an error message which states that:
Runtime Error!
Program: C:WINDOWSsystem32atibtmon.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Then when I start to watch a video again, it shuts down again :-(
I am not a tech wiz so I haven't done anything yet to fix it. My laptop is an HP G62 Notebook running an AMD Dual-Core processor.

I recently have been trying to stream on twitch, and it works for like 30 minutes-1 hour then my computer crashes. really want to start streaming seriously and on a schedule but can't due to this unfortunate issue that frequently occurs. I have provided my system specs on my profile under the tab "System Spec" if you need to see my setup.
I will provide a screenshot of my recent crashes, and will provide them here, but I recommend looking at the screenshot as it provides a lot more information regarding the crashes. The Bug Check String that says the reason of the crashes are:
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, KMODE_ EXCEPTION_ NOT_HANDLED, ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY.

I have a BSOD watching an online stream, I don't know if it's related but games that my computer should handle fine have been lagging whilst some more demanding games run perfectly.

My Win10 computer is crashing predominantly when watching Twitch.tv (flash). The crash involves the screen freezing and any audio currently occuring, looping, and then the pc will reboot itself. There is no BSOD.
The crashes only seem to happen playing online video media but don't immediately appear to have an immediate trigger. Mostly they were happening when I had a fullscreen application (game) running on 1 screen and a chrome window open on the 2nd monitor with a twitch stream playing. However the crashes have happened without a fullscreen app running and just browsing the web or local files with Twitch/youtube running. If I notice a more specific trigger I will post it.
It wont crash with media playing from file.
This started happening 4 or 5 days ago and have been using Win 10 for around a month or more.
My first reaction was to try reinstalling audio (asus xonar d2x) and video (nvidia) drivers. The crashes still occured.
I tried reinstalling chrome, thinking perhaps there was a problem with the inbuilt flash codec. Crashes still occured.
I performed a "reset" on the Windows 10 install today, thinking it was probably a deeper problem and a "fresh" os install would work. After reinstalling drivers and programs I have had another identical crash to before the os "reset".
Ps. since the "reset" of the Win 10 OS I have had 1 crash and it did not produce a minidump file because there was no BSOD/error message.

I installed Windows 10 a couple of weeks ago without any incident. However, this week I have noticed that I am unable to play any videos in my hard drive (regardless of format or video player... tried Windows Media Player, VLC, the photos app) or online (like in youtube or facebook). When playing videos on my hard drive, the video player is blank and doesn't play (although VLC shows the filename and the track length just fine). When playing videos through a browser (I use Chrome) the page simply crashes without playing the video.
I have also encountered a browser error where Shockwave Flash isn't responding. I have only one flash player installed so it's likely not a conflict issue on my browser.
Hardware:
Processor: Intel Celeron CPU N2840 @ 2.16GHz
RAM: 2.00 GB
System Type: 64-Bit

I have had an issue of my computer Blue screening multiple times over the past few weeks. The frequency has increased and I cannot replicate the issue on demand, it comes and goes by itself. The first time I noticed this was when my computer BSODed when I was streaming a video to my Chromecast. Once the computer restarted, it did not have any further issues. However, these past few days when I was browsing the net, my computer was BSOD on its own without really doing anything resource intensive. Is there any way this can be fixed? My issue doesn't really happen while playing games. It happened once while I was in a game. I simply spend more time not playing games, so imo it makes sense that this crash happens while I'm not playing games. I don't know.
The primary display goes solid green and the secondary screen goes black. The audio - if playing - repeats the last few miliseconds of whatever was playing just before the screen changed.
e: I guess I should mention that this doesn't happen very frequently. Usually once every few days. The quickest it's been to repeat itself was when it happened two days in a row, but after that it didn't happen again until a few days later.

When I start a HD movie, or just have windows or Kodi on, I get this static noise, and when I play a video it gets even louder. It sounds like the volume is turned up really high. When there's sound from the movie you really can't hear it, but when it's a quiet part or only talking, it's audible.
However, since I watch shows and movies mostly with headphones, it's really an issue, it is very audible and disturbing. I've noticed that when I move my cursor in Windows I get a faint "extra" static sound.
I use a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo. I've tried disabling WiFi, Bluetooth, changing drivers, change where I connect the power cord in the wall.
This is not an issue with my xbox, or my old non-windows, non-pc media player. There was a very faint static on the old media player, but that can be attributed to many a thing, but wasn't a problem.
System:
Fanless htpc.
120W psu.(it's located at the opposite end of where my hdmi is connected, and uses an external block as a transformator.)
Skylake cpu.
Gigabyte z170n wifi MB.

A friend of mine gifted me with a plethora of new hardware, to the point where I had to buy a new mobo. Did a fresh install of Win10 in the hopes to not run into driver issues and it was solid for about a week. Recently, however crashes have been happening with some regularity, every other day or so, especially when streaming. This is the first time it's actually given a blue screen. Showed the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error message.

I'm having a problem with windows 10, it keeps resetting my default apps for watching videos and listening to music.
I want Windows Media PLayer to be my default app for all of these multimedia files but at least once a day a pop up informs me that there was a problem with one of my default apps and that it has been reset to default.
Is there anyway to disable Windows from taking this action?

Since upgrading to w10 from 8.1, automatic shutdown from task scheduler won't work. After googling i can't find a solution.
It is saying "one or more of the specified arguments are invalid" which is strange as it worked in 8.1, all i have in the argument box is /s.

I keep trying to turn streaming on and it keeps turning off. My receiver is flagged "device access is blocked". I check the box marked "allowed" and the device changes to "allowed access using default settings". Then I click "OK". When I go back into the streaming options the "allowed" box is blanked and my receiver is back to the "device access is blocked" setting. When I did this on Windows 7, piece of cake, it worked. On Windows 10 nothing but a giant hassle. What's worse, I just did this this morning and it worked!!! I played a whole bunch of music on my receiver. Later today I re-booted and now the streaming is gone and I cannot turn it on!!!

I'm getting an Xbox One for Christmas. If I have the Xbox hooked up to a TV, can I still connect it to my laptop, which is across the house? If so, can my brother play the Xbox on TV while I play it on my laptop? Two games at once?!
PS: This will all happen after Windows 10 comes out.

After upgrading from Win 8.1 to Win 10 media streaming is off and when the "Turn on media streaming" button is selected there is no effect, no error message, no action. Since this feature was on before the upgrade I'm assuming some dependent services where either turned off or not installed. I've verified WMP is fully functional with shared services on. I've successfully joined a Homegroup, allowing me to play media from other computers, so I'm not looking at my firewall for now. My other ACER laptop which was also upgraded to Win 10 from 8.1 has no problem with this service. Any troubleshooting guide/white paper that shows all the dependencies.
