View 3 RepliesHere are minidumps of the past several bluescreens, and a full memory dump of the most recent one. I've been getting these for various reasons - I already fixed a few problems with programs chewing up hard disk and causing crashes due to this, but I recently started getting them again at random times and I can't figure out the root cause. Attached is the official folder of stuff from the tool. The event log will include additional unexpected power losses because occasionally it completely freezes and I have to hard reset. I'm hoping it's not hard-drive failure because it often fails for different reasons.
View 9 RepliesI used to have screen-saver set as 'none' and 'on resume, display logon screen', and set the time there the same as the 'display off' option in 'power options'. And that works fine on a PC, no issues there.
Now I started using a laptop, and it has different 'display off' times for 'when plugged' and 'when unplugged', and different display off times for different 'power plans', so I can't use that trick any more.
Is there a way to prevent the screen from turning off when the computer is locked? She likes her lock screen images but the screen turns off after 30 seconds or so when locked. (I tried telling her to use desktop wallpaper, but she likes the lock screen better.)
View 1 RepliesWhat I need to do in Windows 10 to get my Numbers Lock to stay on all the time? Each time I start the system I have to remember to press the Numbers Lock button. On my Windows 7 it stayed on all the time unless I purposely turned it off.
It's no real big deal to push a button, but it's just hard to type in a password or user name and discover it didn't work simply because this darn button was turned off by the system.
I did do a "regedit" and changed the numbers in the box to #2 and restarted the system. When the system restarted the Numbers Lock light was on and I figured I must have fixed it. However when I booted up today it was off again.
How do you get the time on the lock screen to be a 24Hr clock? When I first upgraded to Win 10, the lock screen did show the clock in the 24Hr format, but for some reason it has returned to the 12Hr format. In the region setting I have the time format set to HH:mm:ss and HH:mm for the 24Hr format.
View 3 RepliesI noticed my power options only seem to work once. If i go into power settings and set it to turn the monitor off in 1 hour it will work. Once I move the mouse and turn it back on it wont work a 2nd time until i change the time to a different number like 45min.
View 1 RepliesSo I want to lock down a user account in a specific time or anytime that he'll not able to access the PC until morning, cuz my cousin been using my PC until midnight like there's no end and he'll just use it until 1am or 2am then sleep after. I have Windows 10 btw
View 1 RepliesThe display in the corner of my desktop task bar shows the time. If I click I see the date, a whole month calendar, and UTC time. I'd like to see the time/day/date without clicking. I don't see how to adjust that setting.
View 5 RepliesI regularly use the 24 hour time format for all of my systems. Its not a major issue I have now with Win10, but its annoying a bit.
Before I logon to Windows 10, the default lock screen theme has the time in 12 hour format instead of the 24 hour format.
In Windows, I set everything in 24 hour time. Period. I just don't like 12 hour time.
However, when I sign out or just by locking my screen, it does show the time in 24 hour format.
But when I reboot my system it shows the time in 12 hour format.
As the title states, my computer will turn off the display or go to sleep (not sure of correct terminology) when I go idle for a short period of time. For instance, I get up to get a glass of water and when I come back, the screensaver is up and I need to re-enter my password. This problem arose immediately after the installing of windows 10 on my PC (upgraded from Windows 8.1).
I have already gone to control panel ~> power options but the thing is, even though I've already done that and set the options to "Never turn off display", "Never go to sleep" as shown in the screenshot, my PC still turns off display/sleeps after a short amount of time.
I had reserved my copy of Win10, but then revoked the reservation as I want to control the download and installation my self.
But even after I revoked the reservation, well before Win10 was release, my laptop still seems to have downloaded the Win10 install files.
Now it tries to update every day. Luckely it fails every time, with error code 80240020.
I already removed the KB which installed the Win10 reservation tool. (KB3035583)
Also the GWX directory is gone.
can i avoid to download lots of stuff in the start menu like news, xbox new games, money, and others they are going to download every x time new informtaion..i just want the email

I want to install a driver that I do know work, but to do that, Windows own driver must be uninstalled.
Since I upgraded from Win 8 to 10, I find that I need to restart my laptop several times a day or else it begins to blank out and flicker and then crash altogether. I recently installed CCcleaner (the free version) to clean the cache and that seemed to work but the problem still comes back, plus all my saved passwords get deleted. I have an HP Envy dv7 with 8 GB of RAM. This PC runs pretty well most of the time but when it begins to slow down and flicker, etc., then the problem starts. I do notice that this happens most often after I have been on the web for a period of time.
View 3 RepliesWindows 10 installed painlessly over my old Windows 7. In starting web browser, it always asks if I want to make it my default. I click "yes" and it then opens a window to assign a calendar and email address to the browser. I do not want a calendar or email address assigned to this user ID, but it will not accept a default browser without email address and calendar. How do I get past this? Everytime I open the browser it asks the default question, but will not accept as default without email and calendar assigned. I'm ready to go back to Windows 7.
View 3 RepliesI recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I am having some issues.
First one is: When I click jpg, gif, or any image files that uses the photo viewer as a default viewer, photo viewer pops up twice, one with the file I selected and one with the collection screen. It only does this on the first view of a image file after reboot. Once it does this, it doesn't do it until I reboot.
Second one is: I use a PIN as my login password. The number lock on the log in screen doesn't work. I almost always have to press NUM Lock button in order to use the number key pad. I checked the BIOS setting and Num Lock is on.
Yesterday I installed Windows 10 Professional on my Acer Aspire V5-573G laptop. I installed the English (US) version even though I live in the Netherlands. When I corrected the time I have set it to the correct timezone (see screenshot) but it has the wrong time connected to it. As seen on the screenshot the time displayed is 21:49 even though when I took it, it was actually 13:49. Off course I could manually change the time, but I was wondering if maybe this is part of some bigger problem and if there is a better way to fix it.
View 5 RepliesJust downloaded windows 10 and it freezes or reboots every time I try and login in for the first time, if u click on anything else on this screen like this isn't me it freezes as well, any work around this to maybe login or revert back to windows 7 without being able to log on?
View 1 RepliesI have the "Turn off display after" set to 20 minutes: but they aren't timing out. What might be keeping this from working? Another setting? Some program is keeping it from timing out?

View 1 RepliesI have a secondary screen set up for movies or whatever while I play games and other things, there is a problem with dragging any program screen over to the secondary screen. For some reason when I try to drag it over it will just get stuck on the side of the screen and go half or quarter screen rather than breaking through to the other side. Is there a way for me to make it so I can still half and quarter screen but if I keep on pushing it, it will go on through to the second screen? or just make it so I can bring it to the second screen without the snapping?
View 9 RepliesI have an Ssd and a wuad core i7 so it shod be done by now by my monitors have had a black screen for over 2 hours now. Even after restarting and unplugging it still boots to a black screen now and I cat even boot to BIOS. What can I do

I'm using 3 screens, and I have moved the taskbar to the middlescreen. But when I press the startbutton the start menu pops up on the screen to the left, which isnt really that great. Is it possible to move the start menu so that it pops up on the middlescrren instead of the one to the left?
View 5 RepliesFirst time user, today, the left side of my monitor screens are cut off, can't see the icons and same when I use my email. Can't recall doing anything to cause this misbehavior.
