BSOD :: Computer Freezes Randomly - No Error Logs Or Memory Dumps
Oct 11, 2015
For some backstory: I built this computer in late Feb of 2015. Over the last 5/7 months (two of which - July and August - I wasn't around to use it) and have had several issues with it since
Early March - Random BSOD relation to Shadowcopy files (reinstalled OS, issue ceisted)
Early September - Several random BSOD due to GPU drivers (uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers in Safe Mode - doing so in regular boot mode caused a BSOD - fixed this)
Late September - Single, random BSOD again. However, the computer could not get past the Windows Repair Environment (reinstalled the OS, issue ceisted)
Now - random freezing every few days to as often as once every few hours. This is my current issue. These freezes will occur suddenly and with no warning. One second I'll be watching a video, browsing, or playing a game then the next I'll be stuck. Any audio will loop constantly and the screen will be stuck at the last "frame". I've left it for as long as 30 minutes and it will not crash or bluescreen. The only option is to simply hold the Power button.
The event viewer will not have any error or warnings at the time of the freeze but will only have the error regarding the computer shutdown being forced at the time I hold the Power button. I was suggested to check for temps (all were normal) and perform a clean install of Windows 10 (I had upgraded from Windows 7). I had another hard freeze today similar to the ones I was having before. The issue is back and I'm unsure of what to do next. Is this no longer a software issue if reinstalling the OS was unsuccessful?
I get these random freezes since I've updated to Windows 10. Did not happen with Windows 7. Freezes are random and take about 10-15sec each time. Driver Verifier causes BSOD.
I have a Dell Inspiron 3847 Intel i5-4460 8GB RAM, 64-bit. It began having issues shortly after upgrading to Windows 10 from 8.1. In addition to the attached dump files, using the internet seems to get progressively slower with each successive click of a link. I should add the computer's owner insists on using Internet Explorer (even as opposed to Edge in Windows 10) and refuses to use any other browser. I haven't been able to reproduce the browser slowness issue in IE or any other browser, but they insist it is happening. The dumps have occurred at random times seemingly unrelated to what is being done at the time. Once it was while surfing the web, another was almost immediately after startup/logon.
Beginning from Saturday while playing with crashes and freezes I might have fixed my driver problems, but upon booting up my PC the next day, I was receiving constant Memory_Management BSOD errors every 20 minutes to 1 hour when trying to play Fallout 4 for example.
When I came back from work today just a hour ago, I also received the same BSOD when I logged in, but later it just worked fine and proceeded to desktop. Weird.
Oh, and here's the rar file I was supposed to upload when reading through posting instructions.
I recently upgraded two newer laptops from 8.1 to 10. One of the laptops is unusable at this point. Every hour or so I get a BSOD indicating a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error. I had no issues with this laptop running Win 8.1.
Two questions:
1. What is the best approach to troubleshoot this? 2 Is it possible to revert back to Win 8.1?
I see that it is possible to roll back to 8.1, but first I'd like to see if i can resolve the issues with Win 10...
I have a problem with my computer that it automatically freezes most of the time and I have to turn off the power, and when I starts the cpu again, then 1 short beep and 1 long beep occurs. Also, sometimes the computer also displays BSOD's. The most common was UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. Also KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED , and PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA occured recently.
not long ago I get new machine: Asus Deluxe Z170, intel i7 6770k, G. Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-2400, etc... The system is unstable, the BSODs mainly show while windows 10 on load.

I dont know if its problem of hardware or drivers (very newer).
my computer has been blue screening recently when I'm not even touching the computer. So I decided to check my memory with memtest86+ and it popped up with a lot of errors. So I went into the BIOS and set my CPU overclock back to stock and it stopped blue screening. But what I don't get is how my CPU overclock is affecting my memory. So I have attached my minidumps just to see if there is anything else I could do.
I recently replaced the mobo and the CPU on this system. I am getting BSOD and/or the computer randomly freeze or restart on its own. I did run the computer in safe mode for a whole day and did not have any of the aforementioned issues.
I have an ASUS Desktop PC M11AD Series computer with an Intel core i5. I am running windows 10 Home on my computer and ever since I got Windows 10, It has been randomly restarting. It will restart while doing simple tasks, like using Google Chrome, or using Skype. I have tried to monitor what apps cause the restarts, but it is extremely random. I upgraded my computer 2-3 weeks ago, and it is starting to get on my nerves. I have switched my browser to Microsoft Edge and it has been working fine.
When this occurs, my computer will freeze for about 5-10 seconds, and then it will to a regular restart. Sometimes when it boots back up it says "Windows is updating" and sometimes nothing. I have disabled auto updates on my computer and I just can't seem to find the problem. Sometimes it will freeze in chunks like 3 seconds, it works for 1 second and then 4 seconds and then restarts. My friend also has Windows 10, but his doesn't restart. I can't find out what build I'm on, and I upgraded when Windows said I could upgrade.
Since I've updated from windows 7 to windows 10, the computer occasionally freezes for about 10 to 30 seconds and nothing but the mouse pointer works.
It happens every now and then but mostly a few minutes after the computer has started and then every now and then. If it freezes in the middle of a download for example, the download simply continues after the freeze ends.
I have scanned the PC with numerous anti virus applications such as ESET NOD32, Malewarebytes and Norton.
I keep getting BSOD and random freezes that make me unable to use the computer, so i have to restart it and hope that won't happen again. Happens randomly, there is not an specific trigger to this. Leaving the minidump file to make it easier!
It's not a malware , it's not a heat problem . I checked them both and formatted my computer 4 times already, I am pretty tired . The last options remain is a windows 10 problem /hardware is not connected well? . My windows 10 is not a legal copy .
My computer suddenly completely restarts suddenly, even when IDLE .No warning involved , goes straight to black screen .
I recently built my PC straight from the build guide by Austin Evans on YouTube called the 'Neutron 2.0'. I got Windows 10 installed on my PC and it has been working poorly. Whenever I play a game downloaded from Steam, the entire computer will crash at random times, freezing and forcing me to restart the entire computer.
When I go to turn the computer back on it will repeatedly turn on and back off within a second. It will go through this cycle until I have to power down again.
I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7, and have found 1 very annoying problem, any time a small video plays on a website in any browser my computer completely freezes. I cant move the mouse pres Ctrl, Alt Del. nothign works i have to hard reboot my PC. 1st i had thought it a video driver issue so have updated them but yet it still happens, i have played videos through Plex and have watched a few episodes of a show back to back and no problems it only seems to happen in a browser.
I have a Sony VAIO laptop, model SVE14A290X, which had Windows 8.1 installed on it. I waited until late December 2015 to upgrade to Windows 10, and followed all of the instructions and driver downloads given on the Sony website. But since then I've been having regular freezes and BSODs, once or twice a day, sometimes more, with varying error messages. I took my computer to the local Microsoft store and they said I needed to do a clean install, which they said would solve my problems. So they did that for me, but since then I've been having the same problems, with the same kinds of error messages. I have followed your instructions and attached the zip file.
I suffer from randomly appearing BSODs. Approximately twice a day all screens (laptop + external hdmi) goes blank, sound (hdmi) stops. Previously (like yesterday and the days before) it got stuck there, with black screen, sometimes with flickering mouse pointer appearing after a while. Today I got BSOD with SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION error.
I think it may be caused by the graphics drivers, since I wasn't able to install Intel Iris graphic drivers without disabling the nvidia optimus card in bios. Otherwise I got BSOD during Intel drivers installation with some error related to dxgkrnl (I don't remember exactly).
I was running my laptop on Win10 before without any issues (upgraded from Win8.1 using the tool downloaded from MS site), but after my SSD died, I did a clean install (from usb drive created by the same tool) and these problems started.
Just installed this build on another partition. The OS looks beautiful but it keeps on freezing, randomly. sometimes at the start up or sometimes when the cpu usage increases. The cursor doesn't move, cant even shutdown properly. I've updated my nvidia driver and everything, the problem is still there. Nothing's wrong here on 8.1.
My Windows 10 tablet randomly freezes and brings me to a blue screen saying something along the lines of this pc ran into problems and will restart in 30 seconds or so.
I am running windows 10 and I've been getting these blue screen errors .. It usually happens when my computer is left idle for over 10-20 mins.. It displays a blue screen and then restarts. At first i had no clue . Later i checked the minidump folder and i found those BSOD log files. I've uploaded my system zip file as per the instructions. Before i used to get these errors while playing games but now they are even more frequent. As soon i leave my pc idle or doing some work and im away i encounter this bsod.
I keep getting a fatal error message with Adobe reader v x1 and I can't uninstall it or install any adobe patches or updates. I can't reset my PC either. Cannot open some of my anti malware software either.
I've discovered a hidden folder on my C Drive and there are a number of logs and xml files inside. At first, I was denied access to all of them, but I changed the permissions.
This is a Windows 10 desktop with a clean install (not upgraded) of Win 10 from a USB dongle purchased locally and installed on or around January 19. The path is as follows: C:$WINDOWS.~BTSourcesPanther*
There is also an empty folder inside Panther called "Resources" and the folder icon has 2 blue arrows which I think indicates NTFS Compression. The longest file and perhaps the most informative is setupact.log.
I'm a senior in high school and like so many others, we are using Google Chromebooks, so I'm used to sharing through Google Drive. So, I've just uploaded the folder and shared the files through the link : [URL] .....
