I was browsing Tumblr on Microsoft edge and suddenly I get a BSOD which said driver_overran_stack_buffer.
Now I get the endless reboot, 0xc000021a.
I do not have a restore point or disc from which to recover from. I upgraded downloading the tool on the Microsoft website... This computer has all my important work files.
I get the Driver overran stack buffer error with BSOD randomly sometimes while gaming (rust, dishonored, Skyrim, civ 5, and most any other game). I have manually updated the drivers for my motherboard, video card, and peripheries. I also randomly get the irql_not_less_or_equal BSOD during the same things (though this one appears to only happen when internet windows are open thru chrome and/or Microsoft edge). My game files are on an external Toshiba hard drive.

Ran update drive for my wireless card, says it's got the latest drivers already... checking my Ethernet drivers, even though I don't use the Ethernet.

I worked with my friend install windows 10 on his desktop pc. but after installation, it wont boot, rather showing bsod error 0xc000021a, we have tried reinstalling for a couple of times, but the error persisted. BTW, the previous os was windows 7. We deleted the previous OS's partition and installed it there, but it seems like nothing happened.
View 1 RepliesWhen I try to dump the stack I input the command dps ffffd00026876000 ffffd00026870000. The two values are my base and limit values. I tripple checked them many times.
However everytime I input that command I get an error message saying
"^ Range error in 'dps ffffd00021787000 ffffd00021781000"...
I keep getting these two error
i) Driver IRQL NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error
ii) Driver_Power_State_Error
It was fine last night then suddenly today, this error keep appearing. Is there a way to fix it? I've been searching for solution but I still don't know what to do.
So, my hard drive recently went out on my computer. I'm broke, so I pulled a hard drive out of an old computer my friend gave me a couple years ago. That hard drive has a non-genuine copy of windows 7 ultimate edition. The previous hard drive had Windows 8.1, and I have a valid product key for that, so I figured "Eh, what the heck. I'll just install 10 and use my Windows 8 product key to validate it for the free upgrade."
Now, the problem becomes that the copy of windows 7 on the hard drive is 32 bit, and the rest of the computer is built for a 64 bit OS, and I don't like the idea of not using the full capabilities of my system. I've got 8GB RAM in here. Only using half of it feels horrible. So I'd like to get 64 bit Windows 10. I went and downloaded the iso through microsoft's media thing, then burned it to a DVD5 using a separate tool called imgburn.
However, when I boot to the DVD, the blue, flat windows logo shows up, it hangs for awhile doing nothing, the spinning dots show up, then it immediately crashes, giving me a blue screen.
The blue screen has the frowny face and the "Something went wrong" and the error code 0xc000021a. A bunch of googling shows me a whole lot of problems with the system on boot, but nothing at all related to installing windows 10 and getting that error. Microsoft's site has been less than useful, only telling me that there was either a problem with WinLogon.exe or csrss.exe, with no information about how to trouble shoot that problem.
I've tried making more copies of the disc (I'm out of DVDs now), and I redownloaded the iso and switched burner programs for the final disc.

I have updated Ethernet adapter and have latest wireless adapter.
I was trying to install a driver to see if the performance would increase. It crashed my system. Also, a crash occurred yesterday and the day before yesterday.

I have a Dell 2305 running an AMD 64 bit processor.It originally ran Win 7.Randomly, I get an error message that the display driver stopped.When magnifier is running, its window goes black.It sometimes recovers...sometimes it crashes the system and goes into restart. AMD web site says its due to a timeout with no further way.
View 5 RepliesFor the past few days someone I know has been getting various bsods at random times. Whether it be sitting idle or playing a game. I've been using teamviewer and I have been trying to figure out what the deal is for a few days now and I can't figure out what's going on here.
I've never looked into blue screens so much in my life before this and I've just about given up. From what I've gathered, this could possibly be a bad driver since this is a Windows 10 upgrade from a Windows 8.1, but I can't figure out how to identify it.
It started happening after a blue screen while playing a game. The computer itself is a prebuilt. The bsod checkers I've used consistently point to ntoskrnl.exe being the reason for it. But I've gotten WDFLDR.sys, hal.dll, HDAudBus.sys and such along with it. However they have not appeared since (I've been trying to fix them by updating various drivers).
We've been fine for the past 2 days, then it happened again 3 times. A fourth time recently when I tried using that Dm Log Collector (and the computer was idle for hours just fine). Should I uninstall or update? Or perhaps any other issues?
Having an annoying problem where when I try and install a software package for a device the system hard locks during the driver installation phase. No BSOD, simply freezes at the same point during the installation. Doesn't do it for every device I've installed its only done it for my Avermedia C985 capture card and now for a D-Link USB WIFI stick.
I had to manually install the drivers for the capture card through the device manager. The USB stick is harder because I cant get the software separately to the driver so can't complete the installation.
I've tried disabling driver verification but that didn't work.
The bluescreens are really random and like to happen out of no where. I could be playing League or Blade and Soul and it when it happens. I usually always have chrome open in the background watching something. Some days PC would boot up and I would have to restart because it's slow and not opening anything.
View 2 RepliesI get these random freezes since I've updated to Windows 10. Did not happen with Windows 7. Freezes are random and take about 10-15sec each time. Driver Verifier causes BSOD.

Using windows update I was installing the MS Drawing Driver and my keyboard flashed (blue lights) and the next thing a BSOD. I have attached the collected files, how to confirm the MS Drawing Driver is responsible.
View 4 RepliesEver since I updated to windows 10, my computer automatically installs some Nvidia drivers from their servers. From past experience I know that my computer can get random BSOD's with the wrong Nvidia drivers installed (WinDBG always pointed towards nvdllmkm.sys). So previously when their was an Nvidia update that would cause crashes, I could install a previous version that I knew was working, however if I do this know I'm forced to go to Nvidia builds before the windows 10 update and afterwards windows update just reinstalls the windows 10 version it thinks I need.
So instead of trying to install previous Nvidia versions, I want to go into the root of the problem and find out why I'm getting these random BSOD's (BTW mostly happens when I'm watching a show, so could be temperature related?). Furthermore, I would prefer to stay on windows 10
My computer seems to run fine but whenever I shut it down or restart it the screen goes black for about 10 minutes and then I get a blue screen with a driver power state failure. The system files are attached.

I cant say with any certainty but these appear to only be happening once the computer has been in sleep mode for a while. I have attached Zip file ....
View 7 RepliesCurrently I have windows 10 installed, although the problem was persisting even while I was using windows 7. The problems started when I ran out of space on my SSD and tried to bring files over to my other HDD for storage. In the end I threw my hands up and reformatted my Windows 7. And since my SSD was too small to keep everything on last time I decided to install windows on my HDD.
After updating everything and so on my computer, again, decided to BSOD. So I upgraded to windows 10 and eventually it started doing the same thing. I've looked through my device manager and have not located any out of date drivers.

I'm been having issues a long time with different sorts of BSOD's but I've been able to cook it down to this last one after replacing both graphics card and Logitech headset.

not sure if this is something on nvidias end and they just havent fixed it yet, or if its something i can fix on my end.

Event Viewer called up 'CtHdaSvc.exe' which is the SB Recon3D Service.
Checking Gigabyte for an update to the audio drivers.
No new driver on the Gigabyte site. Will reinstall.
