Windows 10 email opens fine and all my email accounts appear correctly, but when I open an account to read mail, the program crashes when I try to delete an item or move to the next item. I have to reopen the program and start again.

Ok so i upgraded to Win10 and so far i love it, BUT i keep getting this crash more and more often so my start menu, cortana all stop working it even keeps me from opening any program or even answer a call on skype hell if even crashes my damn task manager THEN it crashes and says CRITICAL_ PROCESS_ DIED.

Not true, I went into the Control Panel and associated the Windows 10 Mail program as the default email program. Please see attached screen shots as verification/clarification. Is there something I am missing? I am using Windows 10 Pro.
My wife is getting a new computer with windows 10. Her old computer had windows xp with outlook express. How can we export the old outlook express files such as folders, email contacts etc. into the new windows 10 mail program.
View 4 RepliesI am logged in to my Microsoft Account and am trying to add an email account to the Mail app by following Brink's tutorial Mail app - Add or Delete Account in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums. When I get to step 9 and enter an email address and password, I get a message saying "We couldn't find info for that account. .....". This happens for each account on my ISP, Cox.net.
There is one email account shown by Mail and it is the same address I use to log into my MS Account.
Just for fun, I am trying to set up my pop3 email account on the application called Mail in Windows 10. I have succeeded in having my MSN and Gmail accounts working in the application, but when attempting to set up my pop3 mail, it will show a triangle with an exclamation point inside it. When I click on it, it opens up an Attention Required with a User Name and Password. Each time I type in the password for the pop3 email account, it still fails to sign on and says "Your [provider] account settings are out-of-date."
I have also tried adding the account under settings>accounts>your email and accounts, and it still says attention required. when I click on manage, the password is too long for it to be the account password. I try retyping in the account password and saving it but it still changes.
I can't see how to set up 'Other account POP, IMAP' in the Win 10 mail app - or rather I can see how to set up accounts and either the app is faulty or I must be missing something, because I've tried using the advanced settings as recommended in the Ten Forums tutorial on the mail app (Mail app - Add or Delete Account in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums) but I don't see anywhere to put the actual email address for the account I'm trying to set up.
Likewise if I do it step by step setup from the 'Other account POP, IMAP' link in setup although I can put the email address in this eventually gets overwritten by my username when setup is finished - I have my own domain and my hosts username format is totally different to my email address - e.g. the mail format would be 'someone@mydomain.com' whilst the username would be in the format 'mydomain.com_someone' - the app appears to assume that mail address and username are going to be the same as when setup is completed the app shows my username as my email address. I've set up an ActiveSync account fine but I'm stumped on setting my personal mailbox up.

View 1 RepliesWith the new W10 email client, either with my main account or a second Outlook account, it always picks a random alias for the 'From' address when creating a new email. In the web mail settings I have each account set to send from its primary address and W8 PCs Windows mail clients have an option to choose the used email address.
Where is the setting in W10 and how do I get this under control? This can't be an issue for most as the forums would be full of it. What am I messing up here? The email app is currently useless to me.
So I added my outlook account to the Windows 10 mail app. I can get mail on my iPhone and thru the outlook site in the Edge browser, BUT the mail app wont let me log in, wont let me delete the account (it says "something went wrong" and wont sync with my account.
View 9 RepliesI have two outlook/Hotmail accounts. One I log into the PC with (which is pretty crappy by the way and is a huge hassle in Windows 10 IMO).
In the mail app, I was able to add the mailbox of the one I use, however I have a second email account through Hotmail that when I try to add the account to the mail app, it asks me to verify with a pin. I have never used a PIN with this account.
I went to settings and sign in option, and have an option to change the pin, however it is wanting to change the main account that I log into the pc. The pin appears to be 4 digits (it only allows 4 characters before it auto enters) unlike the main pin which is 8 or 9 numbers.
I'm trying to add a google account to Mail and when I choose Google I get the message,
'something went wrong error 0x80040154'
Since posting this I did read a suggestion about adding it under IMAP/POP option instead of choosing add GMAIL. I tried this but since my Gmail has secure settings the test email was blocked. There is an option in Gmail setting to make the account less secure, but I don't want to do this.
When I open my email account from my browser I am taken straight into my emails without having to put in my account name or password. I always sign out. I never check the "keep me signed in" box. But this invariably happens. Surely there should be some security measure to prevent this as it seems to leave the system open to hackers.

Can the built-in 'Mail' check her existing email account, or just a Hotmail/outlook account (or both)?
I created an outlook email account for her just to use as a log in for Windows, but she primarily uses the POP3 email account.
For the longest time, the mail app has been working well. But this morning, I noticed that it hadn't synced with my IMAP server since yesterday so I tried to edit the settings. When I click on edit settings, the settings window opens but I cannot open the settings of any of the mail accounts. This means I cannot even delete the account to recreate it. When I tried to add the account again, I got an error message 0x8007054.
I can log into my imap account from my other win10 computer and other devices so that is not the problem.
My OS is Windows 10. I have been using MS Office Outlook for my email. I've used it for years. A few weeks ago I decided to try gmail so I set up an account. I did not give anyone my gmail address but for some reason I started to get a lot of my email from friends who have my Outlook address. I even got some of the junk mail on gmail. I then shut down my gmail account as I don't like it. Then I noticed that I wasn't getting much email. So I opened my gmail account and there were dozens of email messages there. Here's my problem. I want to close my gmail account but then I'll miss all of the messages that will go there. My question is. How can I stop messages from going to the gmail?

View 7 RepliesI have a new Dell Inspiron 15 series 7000 which can with Windows 10. I am still learning my way around 10 and I'm no computer wiz. Some windows which open are very tiny. I am not referring to the size of the icons and text as it appears in some windows. Most windows are fine but a few are hardly legible. This is not browser specific, as one of the places I encounter it is when I do a Remote Desktop Connection. I have tried changing all of the display settings I can find but these adjust things across the board and once I get the small stuff large enough to see, much of what I do becomes way too large to fit on the monitor and is a real pain.
View 2 RepliesWhen I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10, one of the first things I did was to set up all of my email accounts in the Outlook Mail app. For a while, the app worked perfectly. But as of recently, the app keeps crashing after 2 clicks. I was wondering, is there a way to maybe reset the app itself? I tried to uninstall it but there is no option to do this in the settings menu or even in the store!

I've used the DM Log Collector to get the DMP file, but I'd quite like to study it myself, and send relevant parts to Alfa (who make the offending Wi-Fi adaptor with the Atheros chipset).
I have a program called Cut List that when I click on the icon it will ask me if I want this program to makes changes to my computer. When I say yes a small blue circle appears for a few seconds then goes away but the program never starts. However, if I go to a second Microsoft account the on the same computer the same question comes up and when I click yes the program starts.

I've been using Windows 10 for weeks. Until today, it started up just fine by displaying my name and no email address. This is exactly how I want it to be.
Today when Win 10 would not recognize a printer, in order to download an "app" to work with this, I was required to provide a Microsoft email account, which I did (an old Hotmail account I rarely use). Now when I restart or wake up the computer, that old Hotmail account appears as "Administrator". However, I do NOT want that old Hotmail email address associated with this computer.
How can I remove it and get back to logging in with NO associated email address?
NOTE: I do not want to delete the old Hotmail account; just want to remove it from my Windows 10 "Account" menu (My name + Hotmail address + "Administrator").
In case it's required to associate Win 10 with an email address, I use Windows Live Essentials with a company email address. I tried adding it via the "Other Account" option, but Win 10 said it did not recognize the email address I entered, sigh.
Windows 10 created a new crashdump file called ShellExperienceHost.exe.3708 in my AppData/local/Crashdumps folder, how to read one of these dump files or what this one means to me?
