Oct 30, 2015I've been having this issue for about a week where any time I try to upload a file in Chrome or open a file in Photoshop CC, explorer will crash the program. It happens any time I try to navigate to another folder. If I leave the initially loaded folder open everything is fine and I am able to upload/open files from that folder. Explorer itself doesn't seem to be crashing, just the program that is bringing up the window. windows 10, chrome and photoshop are all up to date. Saving is working fine. Dragging and dropping a file when available is working fine. I've tested the ability to navigate folders and upload/open files in Firefox, Google Sketchup, Clip Studio Paint, and paint tool sai, those programs are working.

Oct 1, 2015I have 2 windows 10 Laptops. Both upgraded from Win 7 Pro. The first one I did from a CD, (Had to buy a copy of win 10)
The thing rocked for a few days with Win10 and everything was great. Very fast and after some figuring out where everything went, it was fine. UNTIL, an update got applied to either Chrome or Win10 and now Chrome Crashes immediately on opening. Even when trying to uninstall it. Have to go to safe mode to uninstall it. Tried Canary and still same result, Crash, Just chrome nothing else and no BSOD. All the other browsers work just fine, but I've kind of become attached to Chrome. BTW the second laptop I just upgraded the other night is still working just fine.

Aug 14, 2015After last update, my win10 will not open my mail & calendar app. Whenever I open the app, it starts up, loads the mail, and then shuts down again.

Shockwave Flash Plugin - Opening WMV Video Crashes
Sep 16, 2015Few days ago I realized my Google Chrome was having issue with Shockwave flash. I got a popup saying there was an issue and it would not respond. Then I tried firefox and got same issue. I tinkered around with flash, removed and re installed it however when I attempted to play a flash video online, it displayed only a picture and not play video.
So I attempted to play a WMV file on my computer and that too ended up freezing and slowed my system down where I had to exit out of media player. I ran Malware and Virus scans, and I dont seem to have any issues there unless I missed something. Also, I did hear something about Flash being replaced by html5 soon.
Opening Programs Is Very Slow And Desktop Freezes And Crashes
Oct 12, 2015One night I go on my pc to find out that it doesn't work properly anymore. I boot up normally but when I try to open any program, the loading icon appears on my cursor and after about 10 seconds my desktop crashes. My wallpapers turn from their normal wallpaper element to white plain background (the same way when a program is not responding it turns white).
Even if I am able to open a program, it will take 1 plus minute to open it, and then take another minute to close it. I tried to download drivers but it wouldn't let me because it just crashes.
My build is:
Amd fx 6300 @ 3.8ghz
Gtx 760
Asus M5A97 R2.0
Samsung evo 840 120gb ssd
A 1TB and 2TB drive
550w psu
Windows 10
I can't reinstall windows 10 as I don't have the disc since I got it for free from the windows 7 upgrade, and my windows 7 reinstallation disc is broken, so that's a no go.
File Explorer Crashes When Right Click
Dec 26, 2015This is the first issue i have had with windows 10 ever since installing it in august. Ever since yesterday whenever i click on a file in the file explorer window it will gray out and stop working. Unlike the average hang this one will stay grayed out for about 5 to 10 seconds, my screen will go black for about half a second and than everything will be back to normal. I am thinking that this could be a virus but i have run a scan 2 times and nothing showed up. Other than the file explorer not working everything is fine. This is really weird since it only started yesterday and i have never had any issues like this in the 4 years that i have had my computer.

Oct 23, 2015Ever since I upgraded to W10, I get this problem wherein if I insert a disk in either of my two optical drivers, it would take Windows forever to read them and if I click them before they complete loading, Windows would become unresponsive and Explorer would crash. Mind you, it also happens even if the contents of the disk have already loaded. But even though the contents of the disk have showed, they all have blank white icons.I already tried sfc /scannow and they it reported no issues.

I have already done a "repair" install of 14257...I had 14257 installed already and essentially did a reinstall of it using an ISO image. I have done SFC/Scannow a dozen times and that isn't working either.

Nov 15, 2015Today,my laptop was awfully slow. When I booted it up it would say "Scanning and repairing D: drive 100%" but this didn't work with anything. When I went to "This PC" to see my D and C drives, my C drive was perfectly fine and it was showing how much GB it has left (___ GB free of ___ GB) but for the D drive it didn't show how much GB it has left. When I try to open it, windows explorer folder would not respond. The green bar which shows your progress of loading the folder (I don't know how to explain) would keep going and even if it reaches the end, D drive wouldn't open. Most of my games were in my D drive and now my laptop is really slow. It takes like 1 minute for chrome to start up.

Mar 30, 2016I have Windows 10..Just recently I have found that when I open a folder on my desktop which opens in maximized mode, and then go ahead and click to restore the window to a smaller size, instead of doing so, the window restores to the width of the three buttons at the top (minimize, restore, close) and then the file explorer window crashes and freezes for a few seconds, my screen goes black for a few seconds, then I am returned to the desktop, where the window has closed.Is this a sign of hard drive corruption?

Feb 10, 2016Recently a change occured (after an update?). I have a folder containing only 6 shortcuts, linking to devices or to drives, connected to devices, in my home network. Opening this folder takes about 30 sec. It has to do with those shortcuts that link to drives, connected to devices, which are off.
Apparently, file explorer, when trying to present the shortcuts, also tries to get some info from those drives. After failing, file explorer nevertheless decides to present the shortcut after long waiting time. This effect has come recently in W10. In most cases, the effect is there, but in a few cases, the map is opening normally.

Aug 21, 2015When I want to open a JPG file, a list pops up to choose what program to open it. I select the one and there is an additional choice to always use the selected program automatically. I check that also. However it still pops up with the 5 or 6 program choice window when I click on a JPG file. How do I get the choice to stick?

Dec 23, 2015Just purchased the following computer [URL] .... and have been experiencing quite a few errors already. In addition to many programs' icons being small and almost unreadable (seems to be due to the Ultra HD resolution), I've noticed that every time I open an Excel file, it not only opens that file, but it also opens a blank workbook as well. This has never happened to me on any previous computer or previous version of Excel and googling the issue has been futile thus far.
To be clear, I'm totally fine with Excel opening a blank workbook if I just click on the Excel shortcut on my taskbar, but I do NOT want Excel to open up a blank workbook when let's say I'm opening up a spreadsheet for a financial model.
BSOD :: Random App Crashes
Mar 5, 2016I'm having a lot of issues with a system I recently assembled. Apps like Word, Outlook and Firefox are randomly crashing, BSODs from time to time, and the PC sometimes crashes directly after sleep-mode.
I've tried the following:
-clean install
-updating bios
-replacing mobo
-replacing psu
-ran memtest; no errors
-removed nvidia card, just onboard graphics; no difference
BSOD :: WiFi Not Available And Crashes?
Feb 5, 2016Since some weeks I am having problems with the Wifi connection of my laptop. My laptop is an Acer Aspire E-15. I have been working with windows 10 for some months and I didn't have any problems. Since some weeks it can't find any WiFi network, and when I plug-in an ethernet cable everything works fine. Also, I have the newest drivers installed. My network adapter is Qualcomm Atheros AR956X
When I restart my PC or do a system restore, everything seems to work fine, until the same problem occurs again. It happens very randomly, for example I didn't have the problem for more than a week, but yesterday I had it all the time. In addition to that, sometimes when I lose the connection my PC crashes. I don't know if these two issues could be related to each other.

Dec 19, 2015As the title says, the start menu wasn't opening so I ran SFC /scannow that found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. I then ran RestoreHealth but I got a message saying, "Source file cannot be found". I restart, Start Menu works again but still have corrupt files after an SFC scan. I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 after some non-related issues. CBS log is attached. I'm having trouble determining the problem from the log file.
