I get these random freezes since I've updated to Windows 10. Did not happen with Windows 7. Freezes are random and take about 10-15sec each time. Driver Verifier causes BSOD.
I've been having nothing but problems with Windows 10 since I upgraded from windows 7. All the parts I've had worked on 7 just fine. I upgraded to 10 and I've been getting BSOD randomly and especially on the startups. I even would get BSOD just from the upgrade to 10. I had to turn off turbo core and cool and quiet so it would get through the installation. I noticed one of my HDD broke in the process. Didn't work on any computer I tested it on. Might be a coincidence as it's 5 years old. A few days after I finally got 10 to work. I put my computer in a new case with a new PSU. It would work fine for a week or two and then it would BSOD randomly. I had an issue with Google Chrome in that it would slowly lock my computer up everytime I opened it. I initially thought my SSD was going bad but it's only 2 years old. I stopped using Chrome and the problem stopped for awhile. Every once and awhile I would get a BSOD randomly or on a startup but it would always fix itself. Now I'm getting a new error that is the worst yet.
I use my computer for animations, rendering, gaming, browsing so it gets worked quite often but it doesn't crash during intense use. Now I'm completely stuck. I am getting this "driver verifier iomanager violation wdf01000.sys" BSOD everytime I boot up the computer. I don't remember installing anything new the last time I used it.
When I get in to safe mode, a BSOD System_exception_error will pop up in 5 minutes or so. Sometimes it will be a kmode error. I noticed sometimes I would get it just starting up in safe mode. I barely managed to get the dump file off of there.
I've attached text from the dump file : DANIEL-PC-Fri_01_01_2016_180310_03.zip
System Specs: Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R 2.0 GPU: Nvidia GTX 580 CPU: AMD 8350 RAM: 16 GB SSD: Kingston v300 120 GB HDD: WD Black, Seagate barracuda, Toshiba PSU: 750 Rosewill Captsone 80 plus gold LG blu ray drive
For some backstory: I built this computer in late Feb of 2015. Over the last 5/7 months (two of which - July and August - I wasn't around to use it) and have had several issues with it since
Early March - Random BSOD relation to Shadowcopy files (reinstalled OS, issue ceisted)
Early September - Several random BSOD due to GPU drivers (uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers in Safe Mode - doing so in regular boot mode caused a BSOD - fixed this)
Late September - Single, random BSOD again. However, the computer could not get past the Windows Repair Environment (reinstalled the OS, issue ceisted)
Now - random freezing every few days to as often as once every few hours. This is my current issue. These freezes will occur suddenly and with no warning. One second I'll be watching a video, browsing, or playing a game then the next I'll be stuck. Any audio will loop constantly and the screen will be stuck at the last "frame". I've left it for as long as 30 minutes and it will not crash or bluescreen. The only option is to simply hold the Power button.
The event viewer will not have any error or warnings at the time of the freeze but will only have the error regarding the computer shutdown being forced at the time I hold the Power button. I was suggested to check for temps (all were normal) and perform a clean install of Windows 10 (I had upgraded from Windows 7). I had another hard freeze today similar to the ones I was having before. The issue is back and I'm unsure of what to do next. Is this no longer a software issue if reinstalling the OS was unsuccessful?
Having an annoying problem where when I try and install a software package for a device the system hard locks during the driver installation phase. No BSOD, simply freezes at the same point during the installation. Doesn't do it for every device I've installed its only done it for my Avermedia C985 capture card and now for a D-Link USB WIFI stick.
I had to manually install the drivers for the capture card through the device manager. The USB stick is harder because I cant get the software separately to the driver so can't complete the installation.
I've tried disabling driver verification but that didn't work.
Just installed this build on another partition. The OS looks beautiful but it keeps on freezing, randomly. sometimes at the start up or sometimes when the cpu usage increases. The cursor doesn't move, cant even shutdown properly. I've updated my nvidia driver and everything, the problem is still there. Nothing's wrong here on 8.1.
My Windows 10 tablet randomly freezes and brings me to a blue screen saying something along the lines of this pc ran into problems and will restart in 30 seconds or so.
It was fine last night then suddenly today, this error keep appearing. Is there a way to fix it? I've been searching for solution but I still don't know what to do.
As of recently my graphics card driver has stopped responding at times and eventually recovers with windows coming with the usual pop up something along the lines of: "Your Graphics Card Driver Stopped Unexpectedly and has now recovered"
I have the latest Graphics Card Driver for my Graphics Chip on my AMD A6-5200 APU (AMD Radeon 8400)
This has happened twice so far and nothing like it has ever happened before. My thoughts lead me to believe that it could possibly be a bug in the driver or a corrupt installation or otherwise to do with the current driver version I have. However it has happened once while I was burning a linux distrobution to a disk and once while I was playing a game.
Had another account on the windows 8 forums for a while, thought I could log in to the windows 10 forums with the same account but apparently not, so I created another one with the same name
I am experiencing a consistent issue with Windows 10 where the computer runs okay, but then it suddenly freezes where I cannot do a thing. So I am not able to save my work or project I am working and lose all my data that I was working on. I then have to reboot the system to get Windows operational once again.
Everything frozen on my Asus...Nothing will open but desktop..not Internet, files, or start menu...
Computer worked last night. It accepted audio files that I recorded on EasyVoice recorder and dragged into computer from my LG Android. I was able to edit those files in my Adobe Audition, save as mp3s and upload to my employer software and website just as I always do. I was able to surf pages already open in my Google Chrome but unable to logon to my eBay account. I finished my work and went to bed.
This afternoon I was able to open some new Chrome Internet windows and answer emails on gmail and Zimbra web mail. I closed the laptop and left it there for a few hours.
Upon returning, I could not open any new Internet windows. Not even Facebook. I tried restarting but could not access the Start menu. So I hard booted. No effect.
Then hard booted and removed battery. Turned on and generally had same problem but I was able to search for malware bytes and clicked download. Computer froze in the "save to" step.
Turned off Internet modem power, restarted Internet wireless and tried turning on computer. Even worse. Now It acts like it is opening an Internet page but little circle just keeps spinning as though looking for something it cannot find.
I am using an iPad to send this post. Computer is a brick at this point.
I recently did the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my desk-top computer. Now, when I turn on my desk-top the system starts to load, but then it will just stop!
Sometimes the start-up screen will make it as far as displaying a several of the circling dots, but frozen, below the blue Windows logo and sometimes it's only one frozen circling dot. So, I hold the power button down to turn off the computer. Then, I'll turn the computer back on and the operating system will load! This gets to be rather annoying.
I have a gaming PC that I built about 18 months ago that runs like a tank except for this occasional lockup I get. It locks up entirely and then reboots shortly after. It's only been doing this for the past few weeks and I get no BSOD. Today I checked the event viewer and saw that it saved a memory. dmp file with more info but after trying everything I can not get windb to open the dmp file due to symbol errors. This board has a killer Ethernet adapter with garbage drivers that I think are my issue. The only issues I've had with this system over the past year have all been related to the killer Ethernet drivers. The system hang usually happens when I'm in a download client or leave something downloading for an extended time.
I have a problem with my computer that it automatically freezes most of the time and I have to turn off the power, and when I starts the cpu again, then 1 short beep and 1 long beep occurs. Also, sometimes the computer also displays BSOD's. The most common was UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. Also KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED , and PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA occured recently.
I don't have much knowledge about computer at all so I don't know what to do. Ever since I got my PC a year ago it have always been crashing randomly and very constantly with various different error code. (Since I lost the receipt I was unable to return it)
So after I learn about blue screen viewer I was able to get a list of recent crash. which I attach above. I try to google the error code but I dont really understand what I needed to do.
I had a computer man in to install Windows 10 and remove Windows 7 and I wish I had never done it. I can be writing away and then all of a sudden it freezes and comes up with a couple of pop ups before waking up again. Occasionally the computer freezes solid and I have to manually switch it off. I have the computer man coming again tomorrow which will cost me more money but I'm getting close to just giving up and buying an Apple.
With my new build computer, I am having serious problems with the sleep function. This was an upgrade from 8.1.
After attempting to wake up from sleep with an input, either a) the screen remains black, or b) the desktop is visible but soon after, everything freezes and no input is possible at all requiring a manual reset. The computer turns on and wakes up (fan and light).
Right now I've turned sleep off, but I'd like to have it working properly.
I have downloaded all the latest drivers from Asus and Nvidia, including chipset, LAN, Video, latest Bios, etc.
Specs:
Xeon 1650 v3 Asus X99 WS-E motherboard 32GB ECC RAM Nvidia GTX 950 Intel 750 SSD M.2 Nvme 450gb Samsung 850 Pro 1 TB Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard Asus 4k HDMI 2.0 monitor
My laptop keeps freezing randomly, and seconds later it restarts itself. I'm pretty sure this problem started when i upgraded to windows 10. It use to happen every once in awhile but now it happens several times a day while i am on a browser or doing anything on the computer. I barely have anything installed on it and its fairly new, i bought it earlier this year. I did a scan with AVG and nothing showed up. It doesn't heat up either. I also updated windows 10 to its latest version and also updated the AMD drivers as well. Should i try to reinstall windows 10?
This is the laptop i have: ASUS Laptop R510DP-WH11 AMD A10-Series A10-5750M (2.50 GHz) 8 GB Memory 1 TB HDD AMD Radeon HD 8670M 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit
I've been getting random lockups only while playing FPS games. The crashes seem to happen less if I don't run Razer synapse program. Generally they do not autorestart or BSOD so it is hard to track. Today it created a minidump.
I guess I should also mention everything is fully up to date. I don't run any antivirus and I'm pretty tech savvy. Probably has something to do with the nvidia drivers.
my computer has been blue screening recently when I'm not even touching the computer. So I decided to check my memory with memtest86+ and it popped up with a lot of errors. So I went into the BIOS and set my CPU overclock back to stock and it stopped blue screening. But what I don't get is how my CPU overclock is affecting my memory. So I have attached my minidumps just to see if there is anything else I could do.
I've been experiencing startup issues with my PC since last night. I go to startup and startup freezes. It seems that something is either stuck or freezing up on loading. Since it doesn't fully boot up, I have been hitting the reset button or holding the power button. It appears that this has made the problem worse. I went to startup this morning and am getting the same thing. Did the same steps of hitting reset and or holding the power button to shutdown. After this I am getting BSOD that keeps restarting and BSOD in a loop. The next boot loaded with repair options. I attempted to do startup repair and have been unsuccessful. How to get out of BSOD restart loop?
so I bought and upgraded to windows 10 today. All day long, at random intervals, I have a CMD window opening up and closing itself almost instantly with about 6 lines of text.
Unfortunately it happens so fast that I can't catch a glimpse of what it's really doing. Are there any methods of disabling CMD from being launched(i doubt it but hey) or is there any way to figure out which process is causing this? any log file I can check?
It's incredibly frustrating because it minimizes whatever I'm doing.
I recently replaced the mobo and the CPU on this system. I am getting BSOD and/or the computer randomly freeze or restart on its own. I did run the computer in safe mode for a whole day and did not have any of the aforementioned issues.
I have an ASUS Desktop PC M11AD Series computer with an Intel core i5. I am running windows 10 Home on my computer and ever since I got Windows 10, It has been randomly restarting. It will restart while doing simple tasks, like using Google Chrome, or using Skype. I have tried to monitor what apps cause the restarts, but it is extremely random. I upgraded my computer 2-3 weeks ago, and it is starting to get on my nerves. I have switched my browser to Microsoft Edge and it has been working fine.
When this occurs, my computer will freeze for about 5-10 seconds, and then it will to a regular restart. Sometimes when it boots back up it says "Windows is updating" and sometimes nothing. I have disabled auto updates on my computer and I just can't seem to find the problem. Sometimes it will freeze in chunks like 3 seconds, it works for 1 second and then 4 seconds and then restarts. My friend also has Windows 10, but his doesn't restart. I can't find out what build I'm on, and I upgraded when Windows said I could upgrade.
