Toshiba laptop now with win 10 download on it. have had critical error twice but resolved both times. switched laptop on today and critical error came on screen, used powersuite to resolve it and when it came up to the end of its run, a box came up for a restart so I did. upon starting up the only thing on screen now is what appears to be vertical line flashing up at quite a high speed.

View 1 RepliesSometimes, when I shut down or restart Windows 10 64-bit, just before the screen turns black it makes the critical stop sound effect. It does not effect anything, the whole shut down process is like 3 seconds, which I really like in Win 10.
Nevertheless it bugs me a bit, I also had this sometimes in Win 7. I'm not running any programs while shutting down, it would notify me if I did.
I upgraded my OS to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 some months ago. After some weeks I started to have "Critical Process Died" error very often. I couldn't figure out why. I've attached the relevant *.dmp files.

View 5 RepliesPrior to upgrading to Windows 10, my system was running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. When running my previous OS (WIN 7) I rarely had errors listed in Event Viewer. Now after upgrading to Windows 10, I get errors/warnings I never used to get under Windows 7.
The error is of the "Critical" level in Event Viewer.
After doing a normal shutdown, and then booting my system, I check Event Viewer and always find the following critical error:
"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

I never used to get this error after doing a normal shutdown (prior to upgrade to Windows 10, when I was on Windows 7). Now it happens all the time. Why this error is occurring after doing a normal shutdown followed by a boot?
I suspect it's a glitch with the first production release of Windows 10, but I have no proof of that. My system runs fine, yet I get the above error (and a number of other errors) since I upgraded to Windows 10.
Several times since Windows 10 has been updated (see attached file) I have received a "Critical_process_died" notification. Sometimes at startup & at least one time during normal browsing. Have talked with a local computer shop about various problems & he suggested a clean install. Attached is the dump file per your instructions.
View 1 RepliesRecently while using the internet my computer experienced a BSOD which listed the Critical Process Died as the error. Before this happened my computer kept popping up with a message I believe was saying that the display adapter driver crashed and then was recovered. It should also be mentioned that I recently upgraded my system with a new graphics card, after my old one died, and with a new case. That was my first time ever doing something like that, so I wouldn't be surprised if that could be a problem.

This might be a case of memory corruption. More often memory corruption happens because of software errors in buggy drivers, not because of faulty RAM modules.
The crash took place in the Windows kernel. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver that cannot be identified at this time.

I've a Dell XPS 15 9550 (512GB SSD PCIe) that gives me a BSOD after at least two hours of uptime. It doesn't create any dump, it only gives me the error on the BSOD critical_process_died. I alredy tried to do various clean install of the OS redownloaded a lot of times and to set from BIOS the drive to RAID in AHCI with various manually installed driver without any result.. I don't know what can I do anymore..

Now I can't access anything on my laptop.
That's what my husband's laptop says after signing in to Windows 10. He installed an upgrade to Windows 10 about a week ago, and no problems until yesterday - 8/9/2015. A window comes up saying "Critical Error - Start menu and Cortana aren't working. We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in." Then there is a button within that window that says, "Sign out now."
When he clicks on "Sign out now" his laptop restarts, shows the page with the date, he is able to clear that to the sign in page, he puts in his password, hits enter, and the same critical error shows again on his desktop. He is locked into this round robin. The toolbar doesn't load all the usual icons. He clicked on the google chrome icon on the desktop one of the times, and its homepage came up, but he was unable to use the page or to access the internet. At first he was able to click on something in the lower right corner and learned that he had internet access, but he still couldn't access the internet. Now that piece of information is unavailable to him.
When he right clicks on his desktop, the right-click window comes up as usual, but when he clicks on "display settings" for example, he gets another window that says, "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel." However, the slide show of his photos he uses for his desktop display or background is working well. What can he do to fix his Start Menu?
Each time I click on the tile for the start menu a message comes up saying critical error and will try to restart going through the same process over and over. I am able to get online using my security password program but cannot use any menu options and cannot get into setting to restore .

I immediately bought Windows 10 for it, and for the most part the computer worked fine the last few months. Every once in a while I would get a "Driver Stopped Working but has Recovered" that messed up the Windows control bar and required a restart to fix, but that stopped happening eventually with updates. I still got BSoD's from time to time, including "faulty hardware corrupted page."
Today I got a BSoD when I was logging in called "DPC Watchdog Violation," which I had seen before I think so I figured it would just restart and be fine. However, now I cannot restart the computer, because after the Gigabyte motherboard logo, all I get is a blue screen that flashes on and off quickly. It is just a blue screen, sometimes with a dot in the middle. No matter what I cannot get past this infinite flashing screen, even in safe mode. Commands from the keyboard do nothing once I reach this screen although I can the mouse around. I can enter the special Windows control menu before getting to the flashing blue screen, but nothing has worked from there
Things I've tried:
-Disabling restart after BSoD -- no effect
-Restoring system image -- error, then no effect
-Resetting Windows -- no effect (although I've lost all my applications now)
-Removing my graphics card and plugging my monitor directly into the motherboard -- no effect
-Updating BIOS -- no effect
Currently trying to figure out something I can do in the registry. My last option is completely redownloading Windows 10 without saving files, but I'm not confident that will work given everything else I've tried.
I installed Win 10 on my home server and it keeps crashing all the time with random BSODs (with a bunch of different error messages). Before that, it was running fine on Win Home Server 2011.
I tried a bunch of driver combinations (the default ones, the ones from ATI, the ones from Asrock, ...). Unfortunately, nothing solved the issue. Memtest is OK.
The hardware is an old-ish ASRock A780GXH/128M motherboard with a Phenom CPU.
I noted that I am not the first one who encounters a flashing screen after upgrading to Win10, managed to type the "msconfig" and now I am stuck in Safe mode with the system not accepting my password, which is a 4-digit PIN.
View 9 RepliesMy pc usually starts up in less then 10 seconds. Sometimes it takes up to 2 minutes which then results in constant freezing once it's started. Then I proceed to shut down or restart my pc and after it's 'shut down' it comes up with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION, then the computer reboots. Error also appears after restarting pc. Also, if my pc is left off for a while and I turn it on, it works fine.

few issues with my windows 10 installation, had a few problems with the previous installation so formatted and re-installed windows 10 only to be faced with the same issue, so posting here. below is the BSOD collection and all relevant information.
Issue: black screen randomly happens, can be doing anything from playing a windows store game to just browsing the web, checked the event viewer and each time it happens a bugcheck shows with error 0x116 which is a graphics driver crash and failure to recover, I know that much, so, any hopes of fixing it? Never happened on windows 7, problem is specific to windows 10, tried editing the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/GraphicsDrivers TdrDelay and adding a value to 8 as provided here: URL...
My laptop been having this problem for this many times. While gaming everyday, have BSOD almost everyday. Screen went blue and won't restart at all. have to manually restart the laptop. The DM Log Collector file is attached.
View 1 RepliesLast night I was watching a dvd on my desktop when all of a sudden a blue screen came up with a frowning face and said that "Your computer ran into a problem and needs to restart, its collecting info and will restart." It happened quickly so I didn't see what the error was but now my PC is stuck in a loop where it restarts and loads into an empty blue screen. It stays on that blue screen for a minute or so and then restarts again. I tried going into my BIOS or starting in safe mode but my PC won't go into them.
View 9 RepliesSometimes when I power down or restart I get a sound that is usually used when there is a problem. I looked up the sound and its the standard "Critical Stop" sound. This only happens sometimes but even if it does occur the system still either shuts down or restarts properly.
View 6 RepliesI followed the instructions and uninstalled Kapersky Antivirus. Still getting the Bad Pool Called Blue Screen now and again. Also finding I can not turn on my windows defender it just keeps turning it self back off again instantly. I have uploaded the dmp files.
View 3 RepliesI upgraded to Win 10 on Friday, and since, despite several resetting PC attempts, Win 10 will not load to the login screen. Instead, it is stuck on a loop flashing between the lock screen and a gray loading screen quickly back to the lock screen -- instead of loading to the login screen. This only happens when I attempt to restart or update my PC. If I go to the lock screen because I locked my PC or it fell asleep, I can unlock it. I have also attempted to reset my PC to the previous build, to no avail. I have no restore points.
