View 4 RepliesI've had a look at some of the forums which seemed to have the same problem as me (perhaps for different/same reasons). Since updating the BIOS manually 3 weeks ago, I've been having multiple BSOD and each time the reason appears to be different. However, there are only 4 recorded BSOD in minidumps (I've had a lot more than that... but I don't know where it's gone).
View 3 RepliesMy PC regularly crashes. Usually with no notice it just freezes and never recovers, but occasionally it results in a Dpc_Watchdog_violation BSOD which in some cases it even manages to successfully reboot from.
The only pattern I can note is that the more stress the system is under, the more likely it is to crash. The fan speed usually correlates with the likelihood of a crash, but there have also been numerous occasions where it crashes with no warning or pattern.
It used to happen a lot back when I had Windows 7 on this machine, but after a fresh install of 8.1 it became a very rare thing to happen. However, since I upgraded to Windows 10 a few weeks ago, it happens multiple times a day.
Other than an SSD for the O/S and replacement HDDs, the machine is as it was when bought, an Acer Aspire M3300.
Because of that brief period where it worked fine with Windows 8.1, I suspect it's driver related, but I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert. The graphics drivers for the graphics card aren't supported on Windows 10 (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4350), but other searches suggest it works fine regardless.
My PC keeps freezing randomly, can be while gaming, online or even when it is just sitting idle on the desktop. Iv'e reinstalled windows twice and updated all my drivers but it still keeps on happening.
My Specs are:
Intel Core i5 4430 - no overclock
1 x 4gb DDR3 RAM
Gigabyte B85M-D3H
Nvidia Geforce GTX 770
Cooler Master RS-500-PCAP-I3
When the crash happens there is no blue screen and the screen just freezes. If there is any sound playing it just goes into a buzzing sound and stays like this until I reboot, after this the PC starts like normal. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?
I am having an issue with updating Windows 10 (Pro). Every time I run Windows Update it appears to successfully download and pre-install the update (I believe it's the main upgrade from November?), but when I restart it gets to roughly 20% each time (roughly 86% files copied) in the pre-login install process and then freezes. I have had this happen a few times. I even reset my PC to a fresh install of Windows 10, as well as ensured that all non-essential peripherals are unplugged, but it has crashed a few times.
View 3 RepliesI have windows ten and recently have check for updates and scanned with virus removal ESET and Webroot no infections and up to date but still freezes and get stuck. Google chrome does not but prefer explorer.
View 1 RepliesJust installed this build on another partition. The OS looks beautiful but it keeps on freezing, randomly. sometimes at the start up or sometimes when the cpu usage increases. The cursor doesn't move, cant even shutdown properly. I've updated my nvidia driver and everything, the problem is still there. Nothing's wrong here on 8.1.
View 10 RepliesMy computer randomly freezes and the fans pick up speed. I cant do anything but hit the power button or restart. its really irritating because I am a gamer and it interferes a lot ...
View 1 RepliesOne night I go on my pc to find out that it doesn't work properly anymore. I boot up normally but when I try to open any program, the loading icon appears on my cursor and after about 10 seconds my desktop crashes. My wallpapers turn from their normal wallpaper element to white plain background (the same way when a program is not responding it turns white).
Even if I am able to open a program, it will take 1 plus minute to open it, and then take another minute to close it. I tried to download drivers but it wouldn't let me because it just crashes.
My build is:
Amd fx 6300 @ 3.8ghz
Gtx 760
Asus M5A97 R2.0
Samsung evo 840 120gb ssd
A 1TB and 2TB drive
550w psu
Windows 10
I can't reinstall windows 10 as I don't have the disc since I got it for free from the windows 7 upgrade, and my windows 7 reinstallation disc is broken, so that's a no go.
Even after I exported the registry key from Win7 where RunMRU has 'useful' entries, and imported it into Win10, the actual RUN window in Win10 remains empty, while the Win10 Registry shows the required entries. How to trigger remembering MRU ?
View 1 RepliesI upgraded from 8.1 to 10. Eudora 7 worked fine in 8. However, the problem I'm having is when I click on a hyperlink within a post, a pop-up window appears telling me, "you'll need a new app to open this program." Opening the link within the popup, takes me to the Store where a message says, "Your search for "about" had no results.
View 9 RepliesMy Windows 10 Machine has gone into a freezing state tre times today. And I have to do a Hard shutdown to get it back up.
I taught to my self 2 times is a coincidence and 3 is a pattern!. The thing is, I haven't installed or updated anything on it for the past few days.
Ive attached all the log files ....
I am experiencing a consistent issue with Windows 10 where the computer runs okay, but then it suddenly freezes where I cannot do a thing. So I am not able to save my work or project I am working and lose all my data that I was working on. I then have to reboot the system to get Windows operational once again.
View 4 RepliesEverything frozen on my Asus...Nothing will open but desktop..not Internet, files, or start menu...
Computer worked last night. It accepted audio files that I recorded on EasyVoice recorder and dragged into computer from my LG Android. I was able to edit those files in my Adobe Audition, save as mp3s and upload to my employer software and website just as I always do. I was able to surf pages already open in my Google Chrome but unable to logon to my eBay account. I finished my work and went to bed.
This afternoon I was able to open some new Chrome Internet windows and answer emails on gmail and Zimbra web mail. I closed the laptop and left it there for a few hours.
Upon returning, I could not open any new Internet windows. Not even Facebook. I tried restarting but could not access the Start menu. So I hard booted. No effect.
Then hard booted and removed battery. Turned on and generally had same problem but I was able to search for malware bytes and clicked download. Computer froze in the "save to" step.
Turned off Internet modem power, restarted Internet wireless and tried turning on computer. Even worse. Now It acts like it is opening an Internet page but little circle just keeps spinning as though looking for something it cannot find.
I am using an iPad to send this post. Computer is a brick at this point.
I am having a pretty consistent problem with file explorer in Windows 10 of late. I am running the latest release 86.17, Windows 10 64bit. Nutshell, when I create a folder, or rename a folder in Explorer, that change does not reflect on the screen. I have to exit the folder, and reopen it to see the change. If I reboot, the problem goes away for a bit, but then it comes back. It's pretty strange. I wonder if other folks are seeing the same thing after one of the latest updates.
View 1 RepliesI recently did the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my desk-top computer. Now, when I turn on my desk-top the system starts to load, but then it will just stop!
Sometimes the start-up screen will make it as far as displaying a several of the circling dots, but frozen, below the blue Windows logo and sometimes it's only one frozen circling dot. So, I hold the power button down to turn off the computer. Then, I'll turn the computer back on and the operating system will load! This gets to be rather annoying.
I have a problem with my computer that it automatically freezes most of the time and I have to turn off the power, and when I starts the cpu again, then 1 short beep and 1 long beep occurs. Also, sometimes the computer also displays BSOD's. The most common was UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. Also KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED , and PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA occured recently.
View 3 Repliesill provide info if needed added with windows 10 tool
View 7 RepliesI had a computer man in to install Windows 10 and remove Windows 7 and I wish I had never done it. I can be writing away and then all of a sudden it freezes and comes up with a couple of pop ups before waking up again. Occasionally the computer freezes solid and I have to manually switch it off. I have the computer man coming again tomorrow which will cost me more money but I'm getting close to just giving up and buying an Apple.
View 19 RepliesWith my new build computer, I am having serious problems with the sleep function. This was an upgrade from 8.1.
After attempting to wake up from sleep with an input, either a) the screen remains black, or b) the desktop is visible but soon after, everything freezes and no input is possible at all requiring a manual reset. The computer turns on and wakes up (fan and light).
Right now I've turned sleep off, but I'd like to have it working properly.
I have downloaded all the latest drivers from Asus and Nvidia, including chipset, LAN, Video, latest Bios, etc.
Specs:
Xeon 1650 v3
Asus X99 WS-E motherboard
32GB ECC RAM
Nvidia GTX 950
Intel 750 SSD M.2 Nvme 450gb
Samsung 850 Pro 1 TB
Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard
Asus 4k HDMI 2.0 monitor
My laptop keeps freezing randomly, and seconds later it restarts itself. I'm pretty sure this problem started when i upgraded to windows 10. It use to happen every once in awhile but now it happens several times a day while i am on a browser or doing anything on the computer. I barely have anything installed on it and its fairly new, i bought it earlier this year. I did a scan with AVG and nothing showed up. It doesn't heat up either. I also updated windows 10 to its latest version and also updated the AMD drivers as well. Should i try to reinstall windows 10?
This is the laptop i have: ASUS Laptop R510DP-WH11 AMD A10-Series A10-5750M (2.50 GHz) 8 GB Memory 1 TB HDD AMD Radeon HD 8670M 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit
I've been getting random lockups only while playing FPS games. The crashes seem to happen less if I don't run Razer synapse program. Generally they do not autorestart or BSOD so it is hard to track. Today it created a minidump.
I guess I should also mention everything is fully up to date. I don't run any antivirus and I'm pretty tech savvy. Probably has something to do with the nvidia drivers.
I've experienced multiple BSOD's in a while now. It occurs several times every day. I thought it was an issue with my graphics card, since it often occured using Adobe Illustrator and other GPU needing applications. Today I replaced my graphics card and I got a BSOD a few minutes later.
I've attached the BSOD file.

I purchased a new NUC6i3SYK last week. I have installed a 250gb Samsung evo 850 M.2 HD and 1 8gb stick of Corsair PC4-17000 DDR4 Ram.
Windows 10 is a fresh purchase and install downloaded direct from MS.
The Nuc worked fine with both the HD and Ram being recognised and W10 installed fine. I loaded the drivers from the Nuc support page and then updated Windows. Everything still fine. Then I proceeded to install other programs and went to bed.
Next morning the PC had crashed and failed to restart. After searching the net for possible cause I decided to reinstall Windows 10. This time i didn't load any drivers and the PC was NOT able to connect to the Internet because I thought one of the updates may have cased the crash.
PC was still unstable and crashed often to the point it was in a BSOD loop. I then reinstalled Windows 10 again and this time I installed the LAN driver only and Windows 10 updated itself. It stayed on for 12 hours and has now gone into a BSOD loop again.
The BSOD error message changes but the main ones seem to be
Memory_Management
irql_not_less_or_equal
0xc000021a
Throughout this process I have:
Run Memtest86 for approx 20hrs with no errors
Performed a disk check
Installed samsung magician to confirm HD firmware is the current version
Updated the BIOS to current version
I upgraded my (ageing) Dell Studio XPS laptop from Windows 7 to 10 on day one and have had multiple BSOD issues ever since. They have included:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
DRIVER_CORRUPTED_EXPOOL
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
...and many more. I have attached the requisite zip file below.
I have conducted the usual Google searches and tried a couple of suggested solutions. Uninstalling Norton 360 seemed to reduce the frequency of the problems; as did deleting an unknown printer that was showing up in Device Manager. But although the crashes are less frequent, the problem clearly still exists.
I would ideally prefer not to have to do a completely clean install, given the volume of data I would need to temporarily shift off my machine.
When im playing dota2, i m running marvel heroes 2015 as well, then BSOD came up, the error message was WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. Attached is the file needed. Not sure why the dump file cant be uploaded.
