BSOD :: PIN Not Working After Microsoft Password Update
Sep 11, 2015
I recently changed my microsoft password. After a reset, after entering the PIN, i was greeted with the message: " username or password is incorrect".I changed it to log on with my new password and it worked perfectly.
If i enter a different PIN: " the PIN is incorrect"
It is worth mentioning that i changed my PIN several times but with no result.
Ok so i am furious with Micro$oft now! the other day i was FORCED to change my microsoft account after much nagging i did so and i dont like changing logins too much. (this was a week ago)
now for some random reason on earth without my permission my windows login also changed login passwords to the microsoft account. I DONT WANT THAT! that password is too long and complicated for someone who locks his computer every 5 minutes or so. why did this just kick in now? i changed M$ account pass over a week ago and today it decides to change windows login?! can i change JUST my local windows login separate from microsoft login?
if i try to change pass from settings it it goes online and says you cant use password that has been used before.
A few days ago I signed into my Windows account and it gave my PC a password that I know but I do not want a password and I cannot take it off all I can do is change it
My friend have perched a copy of MS Office, but he can not download it because Microsoft account is asking for the password to the old windows account. The windows account was made 10-12 years ago and the password is forgotten.
Wake up this morning and wife's PC demands a Microsoft Password in order to operate the computer. I know nothing of Microsoft passwords - never needed one before. The solution: Log on to the Internet to reset the password -- BUT you cannot log on to anything without the password. Research on another computer reveals the cute trick of holding down the shift key while restarting in order to get back to a previous build of Windows - BUT you need to do this as an administrator - which you can do by signing into Windows - FOR WHICH YOU NEED A PASSWORD!
Windows 10, set to boot in safe mode (alternate shell) without network access. So, I forget my microsoft account password (usually i used my pin), how to get into the alternative shell or how to boot normally.
I have just upgraded to Windows Ten and very impressed so far. I also really like Edge, but have a few issues.
1. The password manager does not work and neither does the autocomplete forms. They are both turned on in advanced settings and I have rebooted to no effect. I do not get offered to remember passwords and the "Manage passwords" is empty. These features work great on both Chrome and Firefox which I may have to revert to if this cannot be fixed.
2. The Home button if shown does not take to the Home page you have set, it takes you to the Edge Home page so I have had to add an link to my Home page on the favourites bar. I cannot see an option for a new tab to take you to you own home page it offers start or blank.
3. I cannot see a way to edit and rearrange the favourites bar as you could easily do with IE, Chrome or Firefox.
how can I delete "saved password" and "form data" of microsoft edge manually ?!
after too much search in google ....
I trid to delete some value of the following registry address HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREClassesLocal SettingsSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionAppContainerStoragemicrosoft.microsoftedge_8wek yb3d8bbweMicrosoftEdge
also I tried to delete some files in the following folder %LocalAppData%PackagesMicrosoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe
Windows update not downloading gives the reference 0x800705b4, also Microsoft Solitaire Collection not loading and games in Windows Store not downloading.
I upgraded my win7 to win10 and after that i tried to start cortana. It asked to login to my Microsoft account, but i could not, because a small gray window popped up and after 5 seconds its gone ( I think it must be the "login panel" ). I tried to login different ways, at the account settings, at the xbox and also at the store but did always the same thing.
When i go to sign to microsoft account in windows 10 through "Sign to Microsoft account instead" , when i click this , nothing shows up like a pop up window for sign in .
I've tried turning on & off the services "RPC - remote procedure call" & "Microsoft Account Sign In Assistant". I've also set them to start type "Automatic Delayed".
I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 this past week. All is well except for one thing. I received an update from Microsoft yesterday (Cumulative Update for Win 10 - KB3081424) and noted during the installation that no restore point was created. System Protection is ON and I am able to create restore points manually. Thus, this is only a minor annoyance since I can successfully create these points on my own. However, I would prefer for the system to do so when important updates from Microsoft come down. I guess it is possible that the update referenced above did not generate such a point but found that unusual since it is listed as a Cumulative Update.
So my Surface 3 updated itself yesterday, and when I woke up today the majority of the icons I had pinned to my taskbar and my start menu are gone. I've been able to find and pin programmes like "Weather" back to the start menu, but others have completely disappeared, most frustrating of all is Edge.
I can open Edge if I open Cortana and select a news item. When I do that Edge opens full screen, but doesn't deposit an icon on the task bar, so I can't select it. Also, when I swipe in from the left or choose Task View, Edge does not show as an available programme. Changing in and out of tablet mode does nothing.
I installed Windows 10 last night and it was working great until I did a restart to update my AVG. Then it wouldn't accept my Microsoft password . I am able to log in to my Microsoft account on my tablet and I tried changing the password but still get the incorrect password message .
i decided to do a fresh install of Windows 10. I've faced two BSOD already, usually i was getting these due to graphic card issues previously however i haven't even installed any drivers yet.I've attached the SFTool files and the text file from BlueScreenView.

I downloaded Windows 10 when it was released and have had no problems with it ... until I updated my Microsoft Office to 2016. Ever since then, if I have Office open I get the BSoD, with it saying either Unexpected_Store_Exception, or Critical_Process_Died. I have no other virus software, so it's not the incompatibility with Defender. I have run all of my maintenance software, rebooted my computer, etc. I'm at a loss for what else to do.
I was exploring Windows 10 tonight for the first time and noticed that in my Application list off the Start Menu it shows that I have Microsoft Solitaire Collection installed and I thought I would give it a try. When I launch the app it displays a splash screen for the app momentarily then the window closes.
I have checked task manager and I don't see the app running so there must be some issue with the way the program is installed so I thought perhaps the best thing to do is to remove it and then reinstall it. I went into Control Panel and checked the Installed applications and could not find an entry for it in the list. I went out to the Store and I can find the app and it tells me that it's currently installed but doesn't seem to provide a means to remove the app or reinstall it. How to fix the app or remove it from Windows 10 so I can reinstall it?
All was working a couple of days ago, now today I can not access edge. double click nothing, went to task bar and cannot enter anything into the "Search the web and windows" then went to windows icon and do not see/get the apps
Tried to get to updates but now I cannot find them..
For some reason; every time I try and start outlook; it encounters a problem and crashes and closes on me. Even after i use the office disc to to a install repair; it works for a short time; then the problem starts all over again. It says microsoft outlook has stopped working. This is with office 2010 by the way.
I'm using Windows 10. When I try to open a word document or want to write something I get the message Microsoft word has stopped working. I've tried one or two things that it said to do in windows support but to know avail.
I recently loaded the free windows 10 upgrade. Our family was not happy with it at all because it would freeze all the time. Any time we tried to print anything out of any program it would freeze. We tried some of the repairs and they would work temporarily or not at all. I don't care to spend a bunch of time debugging it. So I decided to go back to Windows 7. I let it do everything last night to revert back and just tried to log in and it doesn't recognize the password . i know I'm entering it correctly. I don't have a password reset disk or USB drive and I need my computer back.
Okay so here's what happened. I had made a new user on win10 and gave it admin rights. I then booted my pc in safemode to fix an unrelated problem and when I went to log into the account, the password I had given it did not work. I do not have a windows 10 disk to reset my password as I upgraded internally from 8 to 10. all I need to do is get out of safe mode.
Sleep and password settings do not work. Even though they are set for "do not sleep when plugged in" the computer falls asleep after 60 seconds. I must constantly mess with the touchpad to keep it awake. AND every time it goes to sleep I have to use a password to wake it. In the settings I have it set to not use a password on wakeup. Acer Aspire V laptop automatically upgraded to windows 10 over about a 10 month process.
My father upgraded his Acer Aspire laptop to Windows 10 last week and now his login password is not working. I don't know if he had to put in a password to do the upgrade or if he miss-typed it. How to reset it or find the one he needs?
