BSOD :: Random Crashes Error 0x3b?
Jan 8, 2016
Having issues with a 0x3b on Windows 10. I have an Acer Aspire that crashes randomly, maybe once every 24-48 hours.
I think it is the 0x3b causing the issue but I have placed my mini memory dump file online if any experts could have a look at it. Dropbox - 010816-25437-01.dmp

I am running Windows 10 on a desktop computer about a year old. Custom built by Hard Drives Northwest. Dual boots Windows 10 and 8.1. Windows 10 is the default, which replaced Windows 7 that dual booted with Windows 8.1. Windows 10 seemed to run quite well at first. Recently, maybe for a week or so, I have found my mouse slowing to a stop, restarting for a while, stopping again and repeating this cycle for a while, then the BSOD with various messages including :
DPC_WATCHING_VIOLATION ; CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION and FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE
Those are the messages I catch. Often the computer just restarts when I am not around so I don't know the error message. I am writing this is safe mode as the computer is nearly unusable in normal mode. Windows 10 is fully updated, I have checked drivers for graphics card, mouse and monitor and all are up to date. Attached is my data log ZIP file.

My computer will randomly crash with the "Kernel security check failure error" and I have run driver reviver that scans for outdated drivers.I then used this information to manually install some missing pci drivers however i'm still getting the error. What is causing the BSOD?

I'm having a lot of issues with a system I recently assembled. Apps like Word, Outlook and Firefox are randomly crashing, BSODs from time to time, and the PC sometimes crashes directly after sleep-mode.
I've tried the following:
-clean install
-updating bios
-replacing mobo
-replacing psu
-ran memtest; no errors
-removed nvidia card, just onboard graphics; no difference

I was previously running Windows 7 with no issues but then upgraded to Windows 8 and later 8.1. With both of these versions I got random BSOD crashes every now and then. I upgraded to Windows 10 but so far I'm run into the same issues.
The BSOD messages are not always the same e.g. the last one i got was MEMORY_MANAGEMENT but other times I've gotten FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE, DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION etc.
I've been strongly suspecting a driver so I upgraded every single driver manually as well as using driver upgrade software but that hasn't worked. The last time I installed Windows 10 I made sure to only load minimal drivers and run it for about a month and in that time I didn't get any crash. As soon as I installed all the drivers for all my peripherals, this started happening again. I may be off here but that's my assumption.
In any case I've attached the log from the crash collector.

I've been getting random crashes and I have not been able to find any pattern. The way the crashes work is this. The computer doesn't go straight to a BSOD. The first thing I usually notice is the internet stops working. Webpages seem to make an attempt to refresh but never actually will load. It also becomes impossible to open new windows. Eventually I can't close windows or programs. Then finally it just freezes. I usually restart when I notice webpages stop loading because I know what is going to happen.
These crashes don't seem to happen during anything specifically but they do seem to be happening more frequently so it's becoming more of an annoyance. I've attached the folder from the DM Log Collector as well as some files from the event viewer.

I have been encountering random game crashes and different BSOD messages for the past month at a high rate. This mainly happens when playing 'Smite' but happens frequently with other games and sometimes when browsing on Chrome. DARKYODK-28_10_2015_122301_55.zip

System:
CPU: FX 9590
MB: m5a99fx pro r2.0
GPU: sapphire trix 290x
ram: 16gb
Powersupply: 1000w
So before this setup, I had a fatal1ty fx 990 that would cause random blue screens, I RMA'd my CPU, my motherboard two times, and replaced my ram, ram slots, harddrive, and video cards with a lower end one, but it would still randomly blue screen with a error and sometimes to the hard drive controller or something (I forgot exactly). I attempted to install drivers with the CD, updated drivers from online, etc.
So I decided to replace my MB and got the one I have right now (m5a99fx pro r2.0) And like magic I dont have any more blue screens, instead the computer just locks up, no response and I have to hard reset it with the button... I tried reinstalling windows on a whole new hard drive with only having the same exact issues.
And I checked the registry with it showing me no major errors except that there was a unexpected shutdown.

My PC keeps freezing randomly, can be while gaming, online or even when it is just sitting idle on the desktop. Iv'e reinstalled windows twice and updated all my drivers but it still keeps on happening.
My Specs are:
Intel Core i5 4430 - no overclock
1 x 4gb DDR3 RAM
Gigabyte B85M-D3H
Nvidia Geforce GTX 770
Cooler Master RS-500-PCAP-I3
When the crash happens there is no blue screen and the screen just freezes. If there is any sound playing it just goes into a buzzing sound and stays like this until I reboot, after this the PC starts like normal. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?

I run amd processor + amd graphic card, so I've catalyst control and since some days got the latest big win 10 update and amd radeon software -the first amd radeon came as update of catalyst control, but it missed the setting to modify the amount of energy taken by pc in relation to power of it, so I reinstalled latest version of catalyst control i had, and some days ago got another autoupdate of it-.
Since then (the win10update) I'm getting every now and then bsod with different errors, at the end of loading of it tho, pc doesnt reboot automatically and forces me to reset/shutdown. Latest error has been kernel security check failure one.
Other than this, weirdly (b4 the events mentioned in prologue) when I open perfectworld(a mmorpg)+league of legends screen freezes, I get a ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ as sound and Im forced to reset or shutdown.

I used to have kernel security check failures a few times when I opened Photoshop, but that stopped happening for whatever reason. Now, though, I'm having it happen at completely random times (I can't find a common factor), and increasingly more (Already had 2 crashes in the past 2 hours).

My computer has since for as long as I remember experiencing bsod crashes at varying frequencies. I have previously searched online for this twice, but without any success. The error messages in on bsod vary a lot, but I think all that information is in the attached file. And I don't think there's much more to say about it.

As you could see the file which cause the bug is not very current (appid.sys), so i think it's not the real culprit... Of course i've tested memory, ssd, virus, before post here. I've also bought who crashed pro for analyse the dump and installed windbg but for the first, no essential information and for the second i don't have all knowledge for exploiting this tool throughly... I built my PC around august of this year and generally the machine runs fine. Lately though I've gotten BSOD several times in these past few days. It usually happens when I'm playing a game (Warframe if the name matters) and the crash will say the usual "something happened need to restart yada yada", the errors however are different sometimes.
At first I got IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL then I got SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED and some others I can't remember off the top of my head. As I was writing this actually it crashed once more so it's not exclusive to crashing while playing a game. I also uninstalled the game and then reinstalled a week back but that was with steam's verify integrity of cache option. Because the crashes started occurring after the game was verified I decided to completely uninstall then reinstall it.
Again the computer crashed, this time with a FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE error. Anyways I do have the crash dump files but how to locate the source of the problem...
Dump File Dropbox Folder: [URL] ....
Also, after the first 3 crashes I opened my motherboard provided update tool and updated the BIOS and some other drivers, the crashes continued to happen though, there are two updates for the Intel LAN driver and AsRock LAN driver that don't seem to update, they'll download and install but when the program refreshes the update list, the same two drivers say they need to update to the version that I technically just updated them to. Don't know if that's a related issue at all, got another crash too, included the dump file in the list above also. As the crashes occur I'll add more dumps to the dropbox folder.

As of lately, my computer will crash randomly while playing mostly graphically intensive games. I can do normal things on my PC all day long and play low end games with pretty much no problem. As soon as I play GTA 5, BF4, or something of that graphic capability the application will crash. Sometimes within a few minutes, but mostly within a 15-30 min period.
Quite frequently, the Runescape Client (queue jokes) window will randomly close too. I kind of feel like this is the same issue going on. However, with this being much less graphically intense, it happens less frequently or takes longer for a crash to occur.
99% of the time I get the same 0xC0000005 error (means the program has attempted to access memory that it shouldn't. ), on rare occasions it will BSOD with a 1A MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error or a 4E PFN_LIST_CORRUPT.
This has become extremely annoying and I don't quite know where to pinpoint the problem, and all of these seem to be memory related issues. Due to the fact that it mostly happens with graphically intense games, I want to point my finger at my video card.
I thought about stress testing my video card to see if it will crash again. I don't really know how to strictly test the memory of a video card, but that was my best guess. Below are the troubleshooting tips I have tried, as well as links to pictures from Event Viewer, Bluescreenview, and debug reports from WinDBG for the 1A and 4E errors are attached.
Troubleshooting steps I have done are:
Tried reverting back to the last "most stable" driver for my GPU (Clean Install)Updated video drivers to the latest version (Clean install)Checked my SSD for errors using software from the vendor (Don't believe this is an issue because two games are on different disks, and the same thing happens)Checked my RAM with memtest86 for 24 hours (Did this twice now)Scanned for malware, no threats foundUsed CCleaner to clean crap off of my computerEnsured Windows was fully up-to-date with the latest critical and optional patches.

I have a Sony VAIO laptop, model SVE14A290X, which had Windows 8.1 installed on it. I waited until late December 2015 to upgrade to Windows 10, and followed all of the instructions and driver downloads given on the Sony website. But since then I've been having regular freezes and BSODs, once or twice a day, sometimes more, with varying error messages. I took my computer to the local Microsoft store and they said I needed to do a clean install, which they said would solve my problems. So they did that for me, but since then I've been having the same problems, with the same kinds of error messages. I have followed your instructions and attached the zip file.

So, new computer, was using Windows 7 and getting BSODs constantly. So I decided to make a clean install with Windows 10 and thought the issue was resolved, clearly not the case.
I will be uploading the last mini dump, but let me already tell you that more than one error code happened (more than one BSOD).
I used the forum's guide to collect the mini dump information. The dump archives I got from the Windows folder are huge, I guess we are not going to use that, am I right?
I am suspecting it to be some Hard Disk issue or RAM memory. One of the messages I could capture was "Kmode_Exception_Not_Handled".

BSOD usually happens in more graphic intensive games like GTA5 or Elite: Dangerous. I haven't gotten it in games like League of Legends or Hearthstone, which are less intense.

I have a custom built PC with Windows 10 Home x64-bit and I constantly get crashes. Sometimes I can be on for 5 minutes then it crashes, sometimes an hour. Sometimes there will be a completely white screen, a colorful screen with many-mini squares, and sometimes BSOD video_scheduler_internal_error. I have tried many, many things and nothing works.

I've just got this computer back and its crashing at Random times, I cant figure out why though and it shuts off with no fanfare and no warning, one second its on and the next its off.
I think.. THINK its related to doing stuff, cause when i play a video game, it happens but when i leave the computer alone and don't touch it, it can remain working, but its blinked off from seemingly small stuff like browsing and such, just less commonly so.
Anyway I don't know how to diagnose the issue, thought it might be a problem with my power supply so i upgraded from 400 to 500 but.. nope that didn't do nothing.

My Desktop computer has been having issues with games constantly stuttering and occasionally crashing for what seems like no reason. There are error logs reported on Event Viewer for the crashes but no information that I can see related to the stuttering.
I can only describe this stuttering as a sudden drop of FPS to 0 with sound glitches and then back up in a second or 2 working fine. Other instances of this happening can also be a drop of FPS to around 20 with sound glitching out much more and for a longer period of time. The sound glitching I refer to sounds like a something being constantly repeated over itself so for example instead of "Hi" it would sound like "Hihihihihihihihihihihi". It may also be worth mentioning that I have a external sound card installed on my system, a SoundBlaster Zx.
The crashes I refer to happen instantaneously and I have not been able to explain them whatsoever. In the event viewer I have noticed with games Fallout 4 and CS:GO they appear with the application error event 1000. fallout 4 refers themselves as the faulting module and CS:GO refers to a Nvidia process called "Nvd3dum.dll" (See Screens Below)
Since these issues has shown up I have replaced my PSU and my RAM to see if that would change anything. The specific PSU and RAM I got is a Corsair RM850 and a 16GB set (2X8GB) of Crucial Ballistix Sport. These changes have done nothing to alleviate the issues I have been experiencing. I have also attempted to unplug all HDDs and SSDs as well as reseat all components of my Desktop. I have reinstalled windows 10 multiple times using a USB flash drive. I have attempted Reinstalling GPU Drivers (Nvidia) and tweaking Graphics settings using the NVIDIA control panel. None of my attempts to fix have worked thus far.
Most of the fixes I have tried are related to the error 0xc0000005, which appears in the event previously mentioned above, but I am not the most savvy when it comes to more in depth analysis and repairs.
