As you could see the file which cause the bug is not very current (appid.sys), so i think it's not the real culprit... Of course i've tested memory, ssd, virus, before post here. I've also bought who crashed pro for analyse the dump and installed windbg but for the first, no essential information and for the second i don't have all knowledge for exploiting this tool throughly... View 3 RepliesHaving issues with a 0x3b on Windows 10. I have an Acer Aspire that crashes randomly, maybe once every 24-48 hours.

View 1 RepliesI upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 home last week. However, today, while I was playing with my PS4, my PC randomly got 2 BSOD with in 3 minutes time frame. I was not using my PC. It was turned on, idling. After the first BSOD, the PC restarted and within 3 min another BSOD.I ran Memtest and Prime95, and played GTA 5 without any failures.

Boot time for windows 10 seems much slower when connected to the Internet.
View 3 RepliesI just installed Windows 10 and see a huge drop off in the boot time and shut down times. I have an i7 laptop with the OS partitioned on a SSD drive. Windows 8.1 would take 10-15 seconds to boot up.
This isnt the case here, right after the logo displays, I get a blank screen for a good minute. The laptop is fine after booting up, no lagging or heating issues so far.
I really don't want to clean install, just because the AMD drivers for my gfx card are difficult to properly install. Also reading people having this issue even after a clean install.
I've experienced multiple BSOD's in a while now. It occurs several times every day. I thought it was an issue with my graphics card, since it often occured using Adobe Illustrator and other GPU needing applications. Today I replaced my graphics card and I got a BSOD a few minutes later.

Have had home builds for years with no big issues before windows 8.1 and now windows 10. I thought i had issues with memory or graphic card on my previous computer so i ended up buying new parts for a new build.
But nothing changed. Not so frequent as before but up to several times a day my computers gets an BSOD. I must say it is random for me what i am doing while this happens.
Different messages before restarting. The 2 last one while trying to create this thread and making the dump zip file was Kernel check failure and DPC watchdog violation.

First off my windows 10 install worked fine for about a month and then all of a sudden I have been experiencing 2 to 3 ramdom crashes and reboots. There is no BSOD, the computer just simply turns off and reboots, even though I have set the advanced settings not to automatically shut down on error. I have also updated to the latest BIOS ....

I have disconnected all usb devices but this is still happening. What is strange that it just started out of the blue. Before i just do a fresh install, any diagnostic approaches?
Ok so when i upgraded from Windows 10 my boot time was 23 seconds so that was fast, but after downloading the new nvidia driver for my GTX 970 my boot time is now really slow, i just turned on my PC right now and got my phone to see how fast it boots up and it booted up in 1 minute and 50 seconds and im like wtf why is it so slow and when i turn off my PC it usally takes 10 seconds but now its 20 seconds to turn it off. I want to know whats up with my PC...
View 1 RepliesI recently managed to get a cryptowall/cryptolocker virus. I wiped everything, formatted c: and reinstalled windows 7 home premium. Was getting constant, seemingly random BSODs 10+ times daily. Tried a bunch of things, didn't work, so recently upgraded to windows 10. The BSOD's are a lot rarer but still occur at annoying times.
I've had the PC for nearly 3 years now. Prior to the reinstalls there was never 1 BSOD and the machine would stay stable for weeks on end without a restart or issue.
I just bought a custom rig and the BSOD keep popping out every now and then. The BSOD are different every time.
Other than that, I noticed that Firefox and Origin program keep crashing as well....

WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR - Dumps and specs below. My system temps seem to be fine so I don't think high temps to be a root cause.
View 4 RepliesI'm desperately trying to improve my boot times given I'm using SSD and when I used Win8.1 I used to have 8 seconds boot time.
This is a clean Win10 installation and all drivers are up to date. I'm using an external eSATA HDD for backups. It seems that Windows is searching or accessing this HDD quite extensively during boot, just before the lock screen.
By default the boot time is 43 seconds (either restart or cold boot when fastboot is on or off). When disconnecting the external HDD, the boot time is about 20 seconds.. which is far more acceptable.
I know there's a hidden partition of 128MB that windows created on that drive but I don't know why and I can't see this partition on Disk Management tool.
My question is, any guide on using a tool to see what's going on with the partitions of the external HDD and possibly delete this 128MB partition in hope to improve boot times.
My laptop is running windows 10 32bit pro and ever since upgrading, the computer boots to a black screen but there are other times it will boot up correctly....

As yet to determine what is causing. Have been removing software after each BSOD.
Win 10 Pro on Dell OptiPlex 380. Upgraded to 8gb mem and SSD.

So, new computer, was using Windows 7 and getting BSODs constantly. So I decided to make a clean install with Windows 10 and thought the issue was resolved, clearly not the case.
I will be uploading the last mini dump, but let me already tell you that more than one error code happened (more than one BSOD).
I used the forum's guide to collect the mini dump information. The dump archives I got from the Windows folder are huge, I guess we are not going to use that, am I right?
I am suspecting it to be some Hard Disk issue or RAM memory. One of the messages I could capture was "Kmode_Exception_Not_Handled".

I got multiple times BSOD with info Kernel Security Check Failure. I work on laptop with additional usb mouse, usb keyboard, usb cooling pad and second display. I noticed that if I have connected my second display than Windows fall in random time (often after waking up). I saw into records in Event Viewer and there are pack of critical events and all about Kernel-Power (Event ID 41). After disconnected second display it seems to be ok. Second display is LG Flatron L1972H. What can I do with it.

View 3 RepliesAfter upgrading to Windows 10 I've gotten blue screen'd at random times. At first I kept getting them whenever I would plug in my laptop to an outlet, or close it, unplug it, open it back up. One other time I was using my laptop and the power just cut out. No blue screen or anything, just cut to black.
Each time it seems to be Kernel Security Check Failure, I think there may have been one more but I'm honestly not sure. another happens when my computer is on but not plugged in, it gives me Attempted Switch From DPC when I plug the charger in (just happened).
The most recent one (today, right before posting this) I had Android Studio downloading the android SDK, Firefox browsing the internet, and a few other programs doing nothing right before I again got a blue screen with Kernel Security Check Failure. My laptop is plugged in and has been for a while, and I'm tired of these crashes.
Currently I am considering going back to Windows 8.1 just to have some much needed stability.

My PC crahes and BSOD at randowm times, no pattern to it really.
I also sometimes have problems booting the pc, it just hangs on a black screen and will only eventually boot if i turn it off and back on.

Last night I accidentally hit 'hibernate' and as i was in a rush i held the power button. Low and behold i woke up this morning went to put it on and got to the BSOD. I basically get to the login screen, login and then it repeats. Ive had the BSOD before but it just restarted and everything was fine. Now I'm trying to turn the pc on and its stuck in a reboot cycle, doesn't get to the login screen. I've literally tried everything, the PC won't even reset or anything. Genuinely stuck....
View 9 RepliesI've gotten the BOSD 7 times today. The BOSD said it was because of various things throughout the day, at first it said it was Memory Management, but after that I just started to get annoyed.
Checking back through the event logs, the bugcheck says the errors were: 0x00000050; 0x000000ef ; 0x0000001a; 0x0000000a; 0x00000139; 0x000000c1
If it isn't obvious, I really don't know how to solve this or if the bugcheck errors useful at all. What I do know is that I was just using google chrome when some of the crashes happened. Also during the day, several times I booted up my computer and logged in and then went away for 5 minutes after logging in (without doing anything). When I came back, it was obvious that my computer had restarted.
I am using Dell inspiron laptop (pretty old one) which started acting weirdly. Upon examining, there was a problem with HDD so I had it changed.
As soon as I got new HDD installed and installed Windows 10 on it, computer started acting weird again - slow startups, random freeze etc.- but it was running ok and I was fine with it. But earlier today, it suddenly displayed BSOD and crashed when it was idle. Now to the main and the funny part, it does not boot anymore. To elaborate, blank screen appears after BIOS screen (right when the logo of windows should be displayed) and it remains blank for several more minutes before the logo and spinning dots magically appear, it doesnt disappear thereafter.
I figured, I could run startup repair or some other tool to solve the problem by booting from the DVD of windows 10. Now for this one, the logo appears with the spinning dots which disappears after a while like it should. And after it disappears, blank screen persists thereafter. Dumbfounded, I tried booting from a USB stick of Windows 8 I had which gave the same problem.
I have already tried altering most of the options in BIOS and the diagnostic tool gives and all-ok for all the installed hardware.
I run Win10 under Parallels at MacBook. Few days ago it started to crash about 30 minutes after boot. I don't need to do anything, just wait and it will die. Usually it's REGISTRY_ERROR, but sometimes another error.
sfc shows some errors, but they don't look dangerous.
I've talked to Parallels guys and they claim it's Windows issue, not VM. Checked Win7 VM and works fine.
