BSOD :: System Thread Exception Not Handled Error Followed By Black Screen
Dec 28, 2015
I had the above message on the Blue Screen and when it automatically rebooted, it rebooted 4 times before going into a black screen. I have a (crappy), fairly new Dell Inspiron 3520. I was running Windows 10 on it (yes, I was stupid enough to install it on a laptop that wasn't tested by Dell for Windows 10, that's pretty much my life). It's been fine up until today when that happened.

Windows 10 system thread exception not handled error, then it tries to restart because of the fault but instead it shuts down, then if you switch it on again it tries to start for a while but goes off, no way event if you keep on doing that.

Downloaded the free Windows 10 upgrade on computer running Windows 7. Am now stuck in the above error loop. I have read the answer that requires a reboot disc and of course do not have one. I've tried reset with no success, and various troubleshooting options with likewise. Don't know much about computers, how to get back to windows 7? The system restore and go back to previous build options don't work either.

I kept getting encouragements from Microsoft and IT guys to upgrade to Windows 10. Unfortunately, I did not check with Dell whether they recommend the upgrade. It turns out that Dell does not recommend my model (XPS 8500) to be upgraded to Windows 10.
I went through the upgrade 2 days ago and yesterday I ended up with "System Thread Exception Not Handled" error. One of the solutions for resolving this error, after much googling, is to download Win 10 drivers from Dell. Well, that's how I found that Dell doesn't recommend it. There are no drivers. Here's exactly what Dell says:
Product not tested for Windows 10 upgrade.Dell is not testing or developing Windows 10 drivers for this product. If you choose to upgrade, some features, applications, and connected devices may not work as expected.I' stuck in a loop with this error message and can't load. How would I undo the upgrade? I get the feeling if I choose to stay with Win 10, I would be beset by a slew of compatibility issues which I would rather not encounter.
My Specs::
(1) Dell XPS 8500; 3.4 GHz; 12 Gb RAM; 64-bit OS; 2 Tb HD
(2) Windows 8.1 2013; Kaspersky Total Security 2015 15.0.1.415©.

Today, I finally went through with the free Windows 10 upgrade. After the upgrade concluded, my laptop worked fine for about an hour, after which time it crashed to the new and improved Windows 10 BSOD, informing me that they would restart my computer for me. The problem is that, after the initial ACER screen, in which I can press F2 to enter setup, a Windows Automatic Repair screen comes up, and shortly thereafter, crashes right back to the BSOD. It will do this 5 or 6 times before giving up and staying shut down. I cannot press F8 or Shift+F8 to enter safe mode at any point.
Now, when I press F2 to enter the set up screen, I am given the following 5 screens, in order:
As far as I can tell, with an admitted lack of expertise, there does not appear to be any way for me to access the BIOS to at least get to safe mode, and perhaps go back to a restore point.

I am using windows 10 from 1st of august by upgrading from win7ultimate,thought of clean install at a later time. After a day,the system stuttered while watching videos through vlc,or at youtube(maybe by just by watching).
After some days the desktop seemed to be refreshing again and again at startup, last night after refreshing loop, pc restarted itself, attempting automatic repair and restarts or boots again and again and error shows that [system thread exception not handled] and is on a boot loop.
I tried to use through installaton by usb for repair or clean install but the same problem is seen there too, what to do?

Error was System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled. After about 20 reboots and same problem error, gave up. Can't get into my system!

My computer was just fine and today I turn on my computer and a blue screen says "your pc ran into a problem. We'll restart for you. Error: system thread exception not handled"
How do I fix this and get my computer back? I don't even know how to get into safe mode.

Several weeks ago I booted my computer and had a bsod on the windows logo. Spent several hours trying to find anything before just nuking and reinstalling. It just happened again and I might cry. Bsod on every boot, including safe mode and automatic repair.
Best guess is it is video driver related, but I can't get in to uninstall. Both times it was the most up to date drivers available. I've disabled the discrete video card via bios. Last time I had to pop out the hd and mount it on my desktop to recover files and wipe.

Upgraded to Win 10 from 8.1 recently and it was working fine. This morning when I tried to boot it won't. Stays stuck in a 'your PC ran into a problem' loop and shows a 'system thread exception not handled' error.
I hadn't got a chance to create a recovery disk (the Internet tells me I need this to be able restore without losing my files and data).
I have a Win 7 laptop which I'm typing this on but which hasn't received its Win 10 update so that I can create a recovery disk on it.

I updated to Windows 10 last week from 8.1 on my Samsung laptop. The update went fine but the restart left me with the message "System THread Exception Not Handled". The only way to get my computer to reboot was to restore it to the original 8.1 version.
I am brave so I decided to try the upgrade again this morning following the "must do" steps for after the upgrade as outlined in this article: How to 10 things to do after installing Windows 10 - Microsoft Community
The upgrade went quicker this time but with when restarted I got the same message. The only difference this time is the fact that I had created a new restore point after the upgrade. so I am still in Windows 10. I checked for all the updates, drivers, etc and found nothing new. I am set to reboot at 3:00 am tomorrow and am fearful that I will have the same result again.

The issue with by BSOD is I don't know what it is triggered by, it happens when gaming, sometimes when I watch streams and other times when I just use my PC to browse reddit and other sites.

2009/2010 Acer Aspire 5738DZG
Intel Pentium T4400
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
15.6" screen
Windows 10 x64
When the laptop is turned on, a BSOD appears with SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.
It automatically restarts after around 5 seconds. F8 does nothing.
I have booted with a Windows 10 USB flash drive and it shows Preparing automatic repair before showing the BSOD again.

So 4 days ago i decided to build a new PC. For my GPU i decided to get a PowerColor Devil 13 Dual Core r9 290x (the cause of the problem), which as i understand, is the same as 2 290x's crossfired. I set up my PC with Windows 10 pro and the OS had installed the r9 200 series driver. Windows messages started popping up, saying that the vidoe driver has stopped responding.
After a few of them, the blue screen of death popped up with and error message:
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXEPTON_NOT_HANDLED, with sometimes some of them being with a different error message- like VIEDO_TDR_FAILURE or CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED.
Still, all of them occurred after a video driver had been installed. I obviously tried installing them myself from the AMD website, but the same happened. Even with the driver auto detect utility, as some said, doing so would fix it, but no. I tried my PC setup with my old r9 280x and everything worked perfectly.

Finally got into safe mode through command prompt and was able to delete the driver from my Nvidia graphics card. Booted back up in normal mode and began the download for new driver. Then BSOD during installation.

Been recently encountering BSoDs with KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED when gaming, specifically the open beta of Monster Hunter Online. Happens after around 2 hours or so. Doesn't happen with other games and has not happened before.
Attached my minidump and required information.

driver_verifier_iomanager_violation BSOD loop on starup, it's even worse now. This time my BSOD came from having chrome open while rendering in Premiere. It would do this every time so I turned off chrome while rendering and I wouldn't get any. I never had any problems with games. I did notice Chrome would stutter with Facebook open but nothing else would cause issues. The last render I did rendered out. I then opened chrome and my computer froze. I tried to boot in and it froze after I loaded in to the desktop. I then set the BIOS to default settings and turned off AMD cool and quiet and AMD turbo. Now after the ASUS splash loading screen pops up, it goes to a black screen. Rebooting a million times and trying to repair did not work. The other monitor doesn't even get a signal. Leaving the computer off with no power for awhile did not work either which always fixed it before. checking the disks everything seemed fine. Safe mode blue screens everytime too within a minute if it even boots up to begin with.

If I shutdown my computer using Start > Shutdown, I get at least one BSOD during the next boot-up; however, no BSODs occur if I use the physical power button.
The error is "Interrupt Exception Not Handled," and since it occurs during boot-up, nothing gets logged in Event Viewer.

I migrated to W10pro about a week ago and I must say all went perfectly smooth and well!
Nothing special until this morning.
Using Bitlocker on both partitions, startup and data.
I started up normally, but when unlocking the data disk, on the momento I gave the password en pressed Enter, I was presented with a blue screen telling error:
Kmode exception not handled. fvevol.sys We must restart your pc to............
Pc then rebooted, and after a rather long time (2 minutes) with full HD activity it came up again normally.
When I did the unlocking of data disk, all went well this time.
So, I really don't know if this was just a one time incident or if I should do something to track the real problema behind and solve it. I would like to be assured it won't come back or worse..

Started having BSOD/reboot problem yesterday. It seems to happen when the computer is idle and getting ready to turn off peripherals to enter sleep mode.
I uploaded the error log...
Not sure what happened. Bad Windows update perhaps?
I ran sfc /scannow and it didn't find any issues. I also ran the power troubleshooter and it didn't find anything.

Today I randomly received two BSODs, one with a System Service Exception error and the second with a Registry Error. The only thing I recently changed was installing a new game (Blade and Soul). Within that process I also updated DirectX.

BSOD usually happens in more graphic intensive games like GTA5 or Elite: Dangerous. I haven't gotten it in games like League of Legends or Hearthstone, which are less intense.
