Recently I updated my Dell Latitude E6320 to Windows 10. Now when I start using uTorrent i get BSODs (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA), and due to my lack of knowledge can't figure out where it comes from. I read a few posts, updated my WLAN drivers (had some different issues with that also), set the computer to make dmp files, but I lack the knowledge to read them, and see the cause of the problem. I saw there might be hardware problems, driver problems, memory caching problems, and so on, and all of them go beyond my knowledge. Down here I attached my dmp file.
I'm using a validated copy of Windows 10 and I was using uTorrent today and suddenly I got a message that it ran out of memory. I've used uTorrent with Windows 10 quite a few times with no problem whatsoever. I tried deleting the torrent and then I tried another one. It was a little large at 3.5gb, so I tried another file around that same range, and it did the same thing. I've tried rebooting, I've tried changing the virtual memory and I get the same thing.
When you open up Task Manager, it shows the memory slowly shoot up to about 1.5GB and it just stops responding and then shuts down. I have 16GB of RAM, but I don't understand why all of sudden, it started shutting down.
As of right now, it seems to be OK, but I d/led uTorrent Portable and I still don't know if it's going to work, because before that I tried d/ling Bittorrent and it did the same thing. Bittorrent looks exactly like uTorrent, I think uTorrent owns Bittorrent or vice versa.
My HP Spectre 13 laptop won't complete a startup. It has the update of Windows 10 pro (from 8.1), a solid state drive (SSD), and classic shell. The computer started earlier today and I got a message that I could restart it to effect updates -- so I did. That restart seemed OK. Next I got a notice to upgrade my Kaspersky Internet Security (to KIS2016, I think) so I said OK. Then I got a message that I could restart to make the Kaspersky the effect. I did, and that is when I got messages in the following sequence.
(At some point a message flashed, too briefly to read, about a thread missing or something.)
1) "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We'll restart for you." ---- Messages: "preparing automatic repair" "diagnosing your PC"
2) "Your PC did not start correctly" [restart] [advanced options]
3) at [advanced options] offered this menu: --(1) Continue - exit and continue to windows 10 --(2) Use a device -- Use a USB drive, network connection, or windows recovery DVD. --(3) Troubleshoot -- reset your PC or see advanced options. --(4) Turn off your PC
4) [Troubleshoot] offers: --(1) Reset this PC - Lets you choose to keep or remove files, and then re-installs windows. --(2) Advanced Options
5) [Advanced options] offers: --(1) System restore -- use a restore point --(2) System image recovery --(3) Startup repair - fix problems that keep windows from loading. --(4) Command prompt --(5) Startup settings - change windows startup behavior. --(6) See more recovery options - go back to the previous build.
So far I have only accessed the command prompt and listed folders with DIR. I am thinking of trying to use a system restore point, but I am worried about creating even more problems.
I suspect the problem is due to Win 10 or to drivers or to Kaspersky or an interaction between them. I will post this to Windows 10 forum, to HP Support, and to Kaspersky Support.
I am on the Windows 10 insider program. Currently on build number 10547. I started noticing an error in Update Windows that said that an update couldn't be installed (see the attached screenshot below) I have attempted to click install now. One of the update seems to install but not the other, then after, I get BSOD. I need to correct tho issue so that I can continue to receive the latest Windows 10 insider updates. Attached is zip from the error.
So I've been trying to update to WIN 10 a lot of times since it came out. Unfortunately the update fails around 80-90% and a BSOD shows up. The BSOD says something like Kernel Inpage Error. I've tried to update from Windows Update, the media creator tool and from the "Get Windows 10" program.
I started getting some BSOD errors after updating to Windows 10 from 8.1. Windows 10 updated a couple months ago, and since that update I get bad pool header crashes multiple times a day. I used the DM log collector and attached the file.
My test computer (specs follow) is stuck at build 10586.11 I cannot install any cumulative upgrade, they all fail and Windows Update undoes any change to the system. In order to be able to install any other update I have to use the show/hide tool to hide the cumulative updates. My main computer (see my specs) and several of my friends have no problem upgrading up to 10586.36, but this particular one fails for some reason. I already tried to disable some devices in Device Manager and disable some services and startup applications, nothing worked.
Specs of my test computer that has the issue:
Computer: Custom-build server system Motherboard: Supermicro PDSG4 (Intel socket 775) Chipset: Intel Glenwood 955X (supports up to Pentium D dual-core CPU socket 775, not newer models) CPU: Intel Pentium D 945 3.40GHz dual-core socket 775 RAM: 4GB DDR2 667MHz (4x 1GB modules in dual channel mode) Graphics: XFX GeForce 7300GS SATA Controller: Intel ICH7R with RAID support SCSI Controllers: Adaptec 7901 Single channel Ultra 320 SCSI & Adaptec SCSI RAID 20105/Supermicro AOC-LPZCR supported LAN: Intel 82573V PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller Audio: Realtek AC'97 audio high quality 6-channel sound OS: Windows 10 Pro TH2 build 10586.11 32-bit English US
I have already hidden the Realtek AC'97 audio driver update which is known to cause BSOD, so this is not causing the issue.
I recently changed my microsoft password. After a reset, after entering the PIN, i was greeted with the message: " username or password is incorrect".I changed it to log on with my new password and it worked perfectly.
If i enter a different PIN: " the PIN is incorrect"
It is worth mentioning that i changed my PIN several times but with no result.
So I have an Old pc upgraded to Win 10, worked ok at the weekend. But after a windows Auto update I get a Watchdog violation every 10 mins or so. I guess some driver has been 'updated' by windows and is causing a crash ? Heres the log. Which driver I need to downgrade. I hate windows update it just breaks things.
Error shown is Video_TDR_Failure (NVLDDMKM.SYS). I got that BSOD only one time, every other time the VGA just started stuttering gradually, eventually coming into a halt and then a forced reboot.
I'm pretty sure this was caused by one of the update that Microsoft forces me to install because these kind of problems have never happened before, which you can see here [URL] ...
IMO I think it's because of KB3141032. I could be wrong though
And here's the minidump file: [URL] ...
A clean install of the newest driver doesn't work either.
Right now I've just uninstalled the newest Nvidia driver that I installed in a panic and reversed back to 355.98 (cleaned with DDU) but the damned problem still persists.
I can not provide a crash log or a screen shot because I can not get past the Repair/Diagnose loop.
My Windows 10 pro has been running just fine until yesterday when I did an update. After the update and reboot, I get stuck in a loop stating the system cant start because of "Inaccessible boot device". It goes thru a process of restarting itself and self diagnostics and repair, but it keeps looping without fixing itself. I do get to select options such as boot up in safe mode but it wont, it goes back in that loop. I can boot into the Bios, I have an SSD that has always been set to ACHI mode, and it is. I just cant get out of this loop?
The only fortunate thing is that I have backup image files, so I do a quick secure erase of the SSD and reload the image fresh. All goes well until I do the Windows update, then reboot into this problem. I disabled Updates for the moment and spent a lot of hours on Google and YouTube, nothing I found so far has worked, so I figured I would try a fresh start here.
Upgraded Win 7 Pro Dell laptop to Win 10 Pro. Screen resolution changed on first win 10 boot and other resolutions greyed out. Windows update says unable to update Intel HD graphics drivers. Downloaded win 10 drivers from Intel site and installed. On reboot get continual bsod as above. No restore point since upgrade. Can't boot to Windows. how to get past the bsod
Bought a new PC that came with Win-8.1 and decided to jump direct to Win-10 with a clean install... no update from 8.1.
It worked fine for the first 3 weeks but within the last week when I do a Restart it goes into the "Don't turn your computer off while doing update" or something to that effect.
It restarts three times getting as far as 55% but the next time it restarts (the 4th time) message says "We couldn't complete the updates. Undoing changes". When it finishes it restarts again and finally boots correctly.
PS: If I do a Shutdown and power up again the it boots correctly... no restarts!
For the past few days I have been having the issue were an update keeps failing in windows 10 so every time it re downloads the update it tells me that my pc is going to restart in about 10 minutes regardless of what I am doing and this is about at least 3 times a dat and it is extremely annoying.
The update is a thing called "microsoft malicious software removal tool" and windows wont let me disable automatic restarts or automatic updates and i dont even need this "update" because its just a virus removal tool which I don't need but windows wont let me cancel the update.
Well only 'View installed updates' works. (the earliest shows only one of 21 November - I thought November had a big update. no?)Clicking these does nothing:-
Just turned on my HTPC and it has updated to a more recent build, however, it will not accept my password. I have reset my password at account.live.com/password/reset but to no avail.
I had a similar problem with my laptop. A password reset online done the trick, but not this time...
I tried unplugging the internet so I could try and log in with the last password, but....no.
I had a friend who installed Windows 10 Pro 32-bit operative system on my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit OS, it wasnt until this day (2015/08/26) that I noticed it on my Laptop. How to upgrade or update it to 64-bit without erasing or formating everything??
I assume there was an update to Win 10 last night. Woke up this morning to find all my tweaking to the OS over the last several weeks was erased! Back to new born state. All my programs are still here but every single setting that I have checked so far has been set back to "start". Its as if I finished the upgrade to Win 10 5 min. ago.
I'm currently running build 9926, and my computer keeps getting this message "Install a new build of Windows now" "This build of windows has expired, so your PC will restart every few hours, and eventually will fail to start. Go online for more information."
So I've tried installing the following ISO [URL] but I'm not sure how to properly install a new build of windows 10.
My wife's favorite game "murder she wrote 2 will not run after last windows update (KB3132372). Upon clicking the icon I get "run time error (2147417848 (80010108) Automation error The object invoked has disconnected from its client" I have tried compatibility troublesooter to no avail. I have uninstalled the program, restarted the computer and reinstalled the program.
So I have a 120Gb SSD running Windows 7, and a 1Tb HDD with all my data such as programs and games. When Windows 10 is released, I want to be able to completely replace my Windows 7 with Windows 10, so basically just wipe the SSD and then install Windows 10 (or upgrade). My question, is will the data on my other hard drive just work like it does now?
Once I've upgraded to Windows 10, will it literally just still work? I don't want to have to reinstall all my programs, or start all my games again (the ones with locally installed data). Also, I do have a couple of programs stored on my SSD that would obviously need to be moved to my HDD to avoid being removed when I wipe it, so can I just move the whole install directory? Or is it more complicated?
