View 7 RepliesMy Windows 10 Machine has gone into a freezing state tre times today. And I have to do a Hard shutdown to get it back up.
I taught to my self 2 times is a coincidence and 3 is a pattern!. The thing is, I haven't installed or updated anything on it for the past few days.
Ive attached all the log files ....
I am experiencing a consistent issue with Windows 10 where the computer runs okay, but then it suddenly freezes where I cannot do a thing. So I am not able to save my work or project I am working and lose all my data that I was working on. I then have to reboot the system to get Windows operational once again.
View 4 RepliesEverything frozen on my Asus...Nothing will open but desktop..not Internet, files, or start menu...
Computer worked last night. It accepted audio files that I recorded on EasyVoice recorder and dragged into computer from my LG Android. I was able to edit those files in my Adobe Audition, save as mp3s and upload to my employer software and website just as I always do. I was able to surf pages already open in my Google Chrome but unable to logon to my eBay account. I finished my work and went to bed.
This afternoon I was able to open some new Chrome Internet windows and answer emails on gmail and Zimbra web mail. I closed the laptop and left it there for a few hours.
Upon returning, I could not open any new Internet windows. Not even Facebook. I tried restarting but could not access the Start menu. So I hard booted. No effect.
Then hard booted and removed battery. Turned on and generally had same problem but I was able to search for malware bytes and clicked download. Computer froze in the "save to" step.
Turned off Internet modem power, restarted Internet wireless and tried turning on computer. Even worse. Now It acts like it is opening an Internet page but little circle just keeps spinning as though looking for something it cannot find.
I am using an iPad to send this post. Computer is a brick at this point.
I recently did the free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my desk-top computer. Now, when I turn on my desk-top the system starts to load, but then it will just stop!
Sometimes the start-up screen will make it as far as displaying a several of the circling dots, but frozen, below the blue Windows logo and sometimes it's only one frozen circling dot. So, I hold the power button down to turn off the computer. Then, I'll turn the computer back on and the operating system will load! This gets to be rather annoying.
I have a problem with my computer that it automatically freezes most of the time and I have to turn off the power, and when I starts the cpu again, then 1 short beep and 1 long beep occurs. Also, sometimes the computer also displays BSOD's. The most common was UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. Also KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED , and PAGE FAULT IN NON PAGED AREA occured recently.
View 3 RepliesI had a computer man in to install Windows 10 and remove Windows 7 and I wish I had never done it. I can be writing away and then all of a sudden it freezes and comes up with a couple of pop ups before waking up again. Occasionally the computer freezes solid and I have to manually switch it off. I have the computer man coming again tomorrow which will cost me more money but I'm getting close to just giving up and buying an Apple.
View 19 RepliesWith my new build computer, I am having serious problems with the sleep function. This was an upgrade from 8.1.
After attempting to wake up from sleep with an input, either a) the screen remains black, or b) the desktop is visible but soon after, everything freezes and no input is possible at all requiring a manual reset. The computer turns on and wakes up (fan and light).
Right now I've turned sleep off, but I'd like to have it working properly.
I have downloaded all the latest drivers from Asus and Nvidia, including chipset, LAN, Video, latest Bios, etc.
Specs:
Xeon 1650 v3
Asus X99 WS-E motherboard
32GB ECC RAM
Nvidia GTX 950
Intel 750 SSD M.2 Nvme 450gb
Samsung 850 Pro 1 TB
Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard
Asus 4k HDMI 2.0 monitor
My laptop keeps freezing randomly, and seconds later it restarts itself. I'm pretty sure this problem started when i upgraded to windows 10. It use to happen every once in awhile but now it happens several times a day while i am on a browser or doing anything on the computer. I barely have anything installed on it and its fairly new, i bought it earlier this year. I did a scan with AVG and nothing showed up. It doesn't heat up either. I also updated windows 10 to its latest version and also updated the AMD drivers as well. Should i try to reinstall windows 10?
This is the laptop i have: ASUS Laptop R510DP-WH11 AMD A10-Series A10-5750M (2.50 GHz) 8 GB Memory 1 TB HDD AMD Radeon HD 8670M 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit
I've been getting random lockups only while playing FPS games. The crashes seem to happen less if I don't run Razer synapse program. Generally they do not autorestart or BSOD so it is hard to track. Today it created a minidump.
I guess I should also mention everything is fully up to date. I don't run any antivirus and I'm pretty tech savvy. Probably has something to do with the nvidia drivers.
Having an annoying problem where when I try and install a software package for a device the system hard locks during the driver installation phase. No BSOD, simply freezes at the same point during the installation. Doesn't do it for every device I've installed its only done it for my Avermedia C985 capture card and now for a D-Link USB WIFI stick.
I had to manually install the drivers for the capture card through the device manager. The USB stick is harder because I cant get the software separately to the driver so can't complete the installation.
I've tried disabling driver verification but that didn't work.
I've been experiencing startup issues with my PC since last night. I go to startup and startup freezes. It seems that something is either stuck or freezing up on loading. Since it doesn't fully boot up, I have been hitting the reset button or holding the power button. It appears that this has made the problem worse. I went to startup this morning and am getting the same thing. Did the same steps of hitting reset and or holding the power button to shutdown. After this I am getting BSOD that keeps restarting and BSOD in a loop. The next boot loaded with repair options. I attempted to do startup repair and have been unsuccessful. How to get out of BSOD restart loop?

I get these random freezes since I've updated to Windows 10. Did not happen with Windows 7. Freezes are random and take about 10-15sec each time. Driver Verifier causes BSOD.

find the problematic driver/cause?
Edge on my Dell Vostro has begun malfunctioning. When I open, it double opens and then freezes as soon as I go into a site. Have to go to task manager to close. Not happening on my Windows tablet.
Restarting and clearing all data did not work.
I have gone back to Chrome but miss the news page on Edge.
Since I've updated from windows 7 to windows 10, the computer occasionally freezes for about 10 to 30 seconds and nothing but the mouse pointer works.
It happens every now and then but mostly a few minutes after the computer has started and then every now and then. If it freezes in the middle of a download for example, the download simply continues after the freeze ends.
I have scanned the PC with numerous anti virus applications such as ESET NOD32, Malewarebytes and Norton.
I keep getting BSOD and random freezes that make me unable to use the computer, so i have to restart it and hope that won't happen again. Happens randomly, there is not an specific trigger to this. Leaving the minidump file to make it easier!

My PC has recently started to freeze and reboot itsself randomly, I can't figure out what is causing the issue since there are no error messages etc after.

updated all my MB drivers (the lan drivers and sound actually had updates)
Samsung 840 evo ssd firmware update
updating windows (currently up to date)
google'ing other error related things and trying those solutions
chkdsk passed
Results for memtest86+ 8 passes no errors
Im not sure if this is one problem or multiple.
By that i mean when i look at the event viewer I see multiple errors at and around the time of freezing most recently:::: Microsoft.Windows.Photos_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App failed with error: The remote procedure call failed....
Also :::: Faulting application name: backgroundTaskHost.exe .........
And ::::: Metadata staging failed .........
since my OP it has occurred twice the 1st time 2 errors and 4 warnings

::Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0
::Metadata staging failed, result=0x80070490 for container '{00000000-0000-0000-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFF}'
the warnings are all related to loss of internet connection
Then crash #2
no errors only 4 warnings
::The Network List Manager reports no connectivity to the internet.
::A connection to the Windows Update service could not be established.
::The Network List Manager reports no connectivity to the internet.

So it is now the fifth of january 2016 and I have experienced these random BSOD's since the very last day of 2015 (31/12/2015).I have my laptop for about 3 years now and I have never experienced a BSOD up to this point which makes me even more worried/scared
This bluescreen pops up quite randomly besides the fact that it mostly happens when a few programs are running at once. For instance: Premiere Pro CC will sometimes run, sometimes crash (and show BSOD) and sometimes freeze.I 've done some research and tested my RAM my hard drives and made sure that my drivers are up to date with Driver reviver.
The only read difference there has been since end december 2015 is the adding of a gaming mouse (G502 Logitech) and a microphone (Blue Yeti Pro). Do these 2 hardware devices result in these problems are is this not possible. The point where I am right now is that the problem is in my RAM somehow and I need to replace it.
My PC regularly crashes. Usually with no notice it just freezes and never recovers, but occasionally it results in a Dpc_Watchdog_violation BSOD which in some cases it even manages to successfully reboot from.
The only pattern I can note is that the more stress the system is under, the more likely it is to crash. The fan speed usually correlates with the likelihood of a crash, but there have also been numerous occasions where it crashes with no warning or pattern.
It used to happen a lot back when I had Windows 7 on this machine, but after a fresh install of 8.1 it became a very rare thing to happen. However, since I upgraded to Windows 10 a few weeks ago, it happens multiple times a day.
Other than an SSD for the O/S and replacement HDDs, the machine is as it was when bought, an Acer Aspire M3300.
Because of that brief period where it worked fine with Windows 8.1, I suspect it's driver related, but I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert. The graphics drivers for the graphics card aren't supported on Windows 10 (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4350), but other searches suggest it works fine regardless.
During this week I encountered a serious problem with my Laptop. While playing games it freezes and the sound starts to stutter. The only way out is to shut down the PC with the power button. This happens randomly, therefore I can play 20 mins. and I'm fine, or even up to a few hours without any problems, but it could happen anytime and this is really frustrating when playing online games .
My setup is a Clevo-PM15SM with theses specifications:
====================================
CPU: i7-4710MQ @ 2.50GHz (hyperthreaded to 8 cores)
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 880M
RAM: 8GB
OS: Clean install of Windows 10 (2 weeks old)
Task Manager and the Strg-Alt-Del Screen do not work.
Drivers are up-to date.
I can confirm it's not a heat issue my PC rarely tops the 50-60 C mark.
The RAM, CPU and GPU are all fine.
I have no clue what's going on. However I took a look at the Event Viewer and discovered that milliseconds before the crash the driver called EnhancedStorage-EhStorTcgDrv crashes. This happens before every crash without exception.

I have a Sony VAIO laptop, model SVE14A290X, which had Windows 8.1 installed on it. I waited until late December 2015 to upgrade to Windows 10, and followed all of the instructions and driver downloads given on the Sony website. But since then I've been having regular freezes and BSODs, once or twice a day, sometimes more, with varying error messages. I took my computer to the local Microsoft store and they said I needed to do a clean install, which they said would solve my problems. So they did that for me, but since then I've been having the same problems, with the same kinds of error messages. I have followed your instructions and attached the zip file.
View 9 RepliesThe PC freezes at random times. The GPU is EVGA GTX760 with i7-5930k CPU
View 7 RepliesI have recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7, and have found 1 very annoying problem, any time a small video plays on a website in any browser my computer completely freezes. I cant move the mouse pres Ctrl, Alt Del. nothign works i have to hard reboot my PC. 1st i had thought it a video driver issue so have updated them but yet it still happens, i have played videos through Plex and have watched a few episodes of a show back to back and no problems it only seems to happen in a browser.
View 7 RepliesEvery time i have put my computer to sleep after waking it it will show my pin to type in but it freezes there and the bsod after about 5secs, i have done a memtest and that passed.
View 6 RepliesMy PC keeps freezing randomly, can be while gaming, online or even when it is just sitting idle on the desktop. Iv'e reinstalled windows twice and updated all my drivers but it still keeps on happening.
My Specs are:
Intel Core i5 4430 - no overclock
1 x 4gb DDR3 RAM
Gigabyte B85M-D3H
Nvidia Geforce GTX 770
Cooler Master RS-500-PCAP-I3
When the crash happens there is no blue screen and the screen just freezes. If there is any sound playing it just goes into a buzzing sound and stays like this until I reboot, after this the PC starts like normal. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?
