View 2 RepliesIts been more than a month that i have updated my Pc to windows 10, and i actually dont like it at all so i need to find a way to go back to windows 8.1 without losing data like Steam games and pictures and more.
View 8 RepliesAfter upgrading my Surface Pro from W8.1 to W10, I have discovered the hard way that Windows 10, even in tablet mode, is not touch-centric. (I also think that the W10 UI is much more cluttered by comparison, but I realize that that is a matter of taste.)
How can I revert my Surface Pro from W10 back to W8.1?
I had windows 8 and was using an administrator account. I was using google chrome browser and all bookmarks was there. I didn't back up my bookmarks and after upgrading to windows 10 I can't find it. How can I import all my bookmarks from my old google chrome to a new one.
View 2 RepliesI have windows 8.1 installed on my laptop and when I try to upgrade to windows 10, it overheats, shuts down and when I restart it, goes back to windows 8.1.
My fans are clean and everything works just fine with the laptop, I don't understand why is this happening. I also have a friend with a similar laptop model who is having the same overheating problem when upgrading to windows 10 (in his case, from windows 7).
google chrome very slow loading and sometimes wont open
View 1 RepliesEverytime on my brand new computer i have to change the settings for the touch pad and click apply.. When i reboot the computer the settings are back at default settings.. Is there something i am not doing right..
View 1 RepliesComputer was fine till I accidentally hit the power off button while trying to find the model number. Now I can't make it start at all. I tried restart. I tried shutting off and restarting. I have tried system restore and that did not complete successfully. Now I tried go back to previous build and it has said "restarting" for 30 minutes....
View 1 RepliesI just currently started having this issue. My computer runs completely fine. However I applied recent windows 10 upgrades and I for some reason had to restart I cant remember why. However after the initial restart the computer simply stayed on and didn't initiate boot. I then turned off the computer and turned it back on. It boots fine, no problems. However if I set the computer to restart from the start menu it will but it wont boot back. It will just stay on and make a louder fan noise but wont reboot?
View 7 RepliesIt seems like, I lost total control to computer since upgrading to windows 10, from 8. no access to C:, or admin rights, many errors like: no indexingwith search No downloading like Skype.
View 9 RepliesI'm having a myriad of issues after upgrading to Windows 10. I'll list them below along with what i've already done to resolve:
- Computer won't shut down.
Someone told me to disable something with the Gigabyte process on the Motherboard, didn't work. I click on shut down and the computer restarts instead.
- No sound except EXTREMELY low sound on headphones.
I've already tried installing the Windows 10 Realtek HD drivers but nothing seems to work. Eventually I somehow got the headphones to play sounds but is is incredibly low even fully maxed out. All devices show that they are "working" correctly. Also, when I test it, I can see the green bar moving as if sound is playing, but no sound in any speakers / headphones I hook to the computer comes out.
- Less important issue but the "search" bar in the bottom doesnt ever return any results, ever. It just sits there indefinitely.
My PC was running Windows 8.1 with no problem. I upgraded to Windows 10. Installation went fine, but right after I logged in to windows, it started to continuously run a shell script in background. A shell window pops up on the computer screen every few seconds for a fraction of a second.
This happens everytime the computer is powered on. Not only this is very disturbing, it also resets any text windows that are open at that time. So, if I am typing a password, it comes in the middle and wipes off the text from the text window.
I have tried disabling all startup programs and several running processes, nothing seem to solve the problem.
Since upgrading to Windows 10, why is my computer so slow to open a file, internet page even after doing a reboot, it is so slow and sometimes doesn't even open.
View 1 RepliesDesktop Icons move back to the left (default) side of the screen after customizing. this happens when the the computer is put into sleep mode and is woken up or when the monitor is turned off and turned back on. I upgraded to windows 10 Pro 64bit from windows 7 ultimate 64bit. This problem never happened with windows 7.
-Automatic Sleep mode is turned off - when I manually put computer to sleep mode and wake it up the icons are rearranged
-Automatic turn off monitor has been deactivated - when shut off my monitor but keep my computer on and then turn back on the monitor the icons have rearranged
-I have small icons setting
-Auto align icons has been deactivated
-allow themes to change icons has also been deactivated
My Computer:
LG 34UM65 - 21x9 - 2560x1080p resolution
AMD 9590
Asus Crosshair V Formula Z
Gigabyte HD7970ghz
Corsair Platinum Ram
WD HDD
Samsung 850Pro - Windows 10 is installed on the SSD
My Drivers are all up to date. and Motherboard Bios has just been updated to 2201
the go back button on edge doesn't seem to have the ability to, when you click and hold on it, see many of the previous pages, so you can go back more than one page per click.
View 5 RepliesI was running Windows 7 and upgraded to Windows 10. I lost no data or programs or pictures, etc. Windows 10 worked fine for about a month and then developed a "restart required" loop. After several attempts I tried the Recovery option, thinking it would take me back to a restore point as in Windows 7. Instead it took me back to Windows 7 and all data and programs (other than the Windows 7 default programs) are gone. How can I get back to either 7 with my data and programs or 10 with my data and programs?
View 1 RepliesCan't get computer to wake from master computer, worked perfect when windows 7 was on remote local computer? I'm I missing something in a setup.
View 1 RepliesWindows ten recently screwed my computer up and over no one else has the problem ( look at my other posts for details) I've literally removed my graphics card and it still happens now I want to know how can I go from win 10 back to 8.1 so I can install my graphics card again and have my flippin' PC back again.
Also I have no access to my PC only HP assistant, Ctrl all delete and the options within that
How can I retrieve it or is it lost for good.
View 1 RepliesI'm having some hard times with my pc after installing windows 10...I used to have windows 8.1 and everything was fine. Since I downloaded 10:
-it's no more possible for me to restart my pc: it stops during the process.
-programs behave weirdly: adobe is going mad, it's no more possible to close skype when I don't need it, and other minor issues.
Now, I tried to go back to Windows8.1, I tried to reset the pc, BUT OF COURSE I CAN'T BECAUSE THE RESTART OPTION DOESN'T WORK!!!
Since upgrading to windows 10 I cannot scrollÂ
View 1 RepliesQuite simply after updating to Windows 10 I've have had no sound on my computer for months now and don't know what to do. I've updated drivers like 12 times and I still don't get any sound and it's annoying having to put headphones in all the time. I have an Alienware and the crappy part is that I'd only had it a couple weeks before it happened. It happend right after the update so I'm guessing it has to do with something on the OS.
View 2 RepliesI have a windows 7pro system that I have used for about 3 years. A fairly substantial mix of software installed over time has predictably slowed down performance enough that a clean OS install is in order. I also have a SSD I would like to install as the primary C drive as well as the update to windows 10.
There are two ways to go about this, and am not sure which is the most reliable or cleanest way.
a) I can install the SSD then reinstall win7, and 3 years worth of OS patches. Wait around until Microsoft notifies me of availability of windows 10, install windows 10 and then install all the application software.
b) I could upgrade to windows 10 get a license key(?). Then install the SSD, next reinstall windows 10 and finally all the application software.
like I said - NO audio
View 1 RepliesI am going to switch out most of the components besides RAM, HDD, and CD-ROM. I have been informed that an OEM version of Windows is tied to the motherboard, but I need to switch out the motherboard. I understand that I need to purchase a retail version of Windows 10.
My question is how do I replace the old OS (Windows 8 upgraded to Windows 10) with a retail version? I am going to be keeping the HDD, so how exactly would I go about replacing the current OS on my HDD?
